Accutane yeast infection

Common Questions and Answers about Accutane yeast infection

accutane

Avatar f tn Life since then was a complete nightmare... I immediately stopped accutane and asked both the gynae and dermatologist if accutane was the cause of all this. All Doctors said no. What frustrates me most is I have been getting yeast infections and even bacterial infections every two weeks. Nothing has helped at all. I really don’t know what to do anymore. I have seen so many Doctors and all of them are unable to help me.
Avatar m tn It sounds like the skin flora has been altered and maybe you have yeast overgrowth. Is there any way to stop the Accutane and use neem soap and other less drying treatments? I would see a urologist to have a look so that you get the best possible treatment for your penile skin, but 100% aloe vera would be a good moisturizer. You may also need Lotrimin cream if it is a yeast overgrowth. I understand that acne can be a huge problem.
Avatar f tn (could just be a nasty yeast infection too). And.. either way- you need to go to a gyno. Cause even if things go back to normal.. that doesn't mean it's gone away. Good luck doll.
Avatar f tn Disclaimer: sorry if this is TMI! Really seeking some guidance here I have been on birth control (same brand) for 4 years and I had noticed that my external vaginal area would be itchy periodically. That started about 2 years ago and I found that taking a yeast infection treatment didn't help so I assumed it was a natural side effect of BC. In the past few months the problem has worsened and the inner labia down to perineum and anus are now constantly red and more frequently itchy.
Avatar m tn 3 weeks ago I had my 1st eye infection of my entire life in my right eye so I went to an opthamalogist and he told me to stop taking the accutane for a week (which is what he says caused the infection) and put me on doxyclince hyclate 100mg twice a day and eurithromyocin gel to put on my eyelid that knocked the infection out.
Avatar m tn Masturbation seems to irritate and make it worse, especially with lubrications. I have had this for years, but seems to be worse lately. Would this be a yeast infection? I am single but always use a condom if I have sex.

Avatar f tn Hi, I had been on accutane for almost two months (60 mg a day). In the first month I had some headaches and dizziness but it wasn't a big deal. But, a couple weeks into the second month I started having really, really awful pounding pressuring headaches with really bad eye pain and dizziness. It hurt to move my eyes around and I had some difficulty focusing and changing my focus.
Avatar f tn How can I tell if I am just having normal discharge, a yeast infection or about to start another outbreak? I would like to be able to tell symptoms of an oncoming outbreak so I can refrain from sexual activity during that time, but I feel like I am constantly having these symptoms. Any help would be appreciated!
Avatar f tn Does anyone know about the scarring after-effects of accutane? I've read several reports of scarring left after it's use. I'm sure that scars are to be expected, as with any open wound, but I don't know if these reports are by anyone with abnormalities with healing/scarring. Here is the situation... I have mild, maybe slightly moderate acne. I get keloids on other parts of my body, but thankfully not my face. I still get abnormal facial scarring though.
Avatar n tn If that is the case, the doctor could have treated it with something other than accutane. How long have you been off accutane and how long have you been treated for depression/anxiety? Was it during the time you were on accutane or once off of it? My gut feeling is that once the accutane is completely out of your system, your depression and anxiety will get back to where they were before.
Avatar n tn I took Accutane in the fall of 2004 and I experienced severe hair loss. (I'm a girl). My hair came out in handfulls for about 6 months. The large amount of hair that usually falls out after washing or brushing hair was falling out every half an hour if i ran my fingers through my hair. I lost about 60% of my hair. It stopped for a few months and started again for a few months to a lesser degree though. And now, 3.5 years later, it stills falls out more frequently than it should.
Avatar m tn After 20 years, a fungus or yeast infection seems most unlikely. Some people just lick their lips constantly. The more you think about your lips, the more you can't help licking them. Perhaps a topical steroid might hep--they work better than Elidel, in my experience and mild ones are quite safe, certainly enough to be worth a try for a couple of weeks. You should talk to your doctor about that. But after all this time, you may just have to love with it, as you have been doing. Best.
Avatar f tn I am now 36 weeks and have my 3rd yeast infection and have had one uti since I hit my 3rd trimester. I am so tired of getting infections. It just want to cry about it but I know it won't change anything.
Avatar f tn I'm 25 weeks pregnant. I've had a couple bacterial infections and recently I've noticed some little white bumps in the vaginal area. I was wondering if this could be from the bacterial infection? Or if it could be from a yeast infection? I have an appointment tomorrow but it's really worrying me and I was just looking for some answers.
Avatar n tn My 15-year old son is in his 4th month of Accutane. He just completed his 3rd day of football practice and is experiencing severe pain in his hips. He insists that the pain is not muscular. (He is an avid cyclist and has ridden over 100 miles on his bicycle and competed in Olympic distance triathlons, so he understands muscular-related pain.) So, what could be causing the hip pain and/or do you think that there is a high probability that it is related to the Accutane? Thanks.
Avatar n tn i got tested for syphillis, herpes, and hiv, and all negative. i took diflucan for a yeast infection and it cleared some stuff, but what im posting is whats left of it. a doctor said it could be a skin fungas left over, so he gave me oxistat, and it didnt do anything. i dont know what to think, if its viral, skin related, infection, etc. i know that was never there ive always been very aware of my glans, and its been going on for about 5 months now.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Well, could be a yeast infection/overgrowth, yes. If you have never been diagnosed for a yeast infection, I would go the first time to your doctor to confirm. They'll help you treat it then and give you ideas why it is happening related to your period. So, yes, I'd see your doctor at this point.
Avatar f tn If any infection is left untreated that is when you can have issues.
Avatar f tn I got a yeast infection after taking the antibiotics I was prescribed so make sure if you get symptoms of a yeast infection you call your doctor
Avatar f tn Let your OB know because many times its hard to tell the difference between bacterial vaginosis and a yeast infection.
