I had to stop taking accutane halfway through my treatment. I was 10 weeks into the course. I had to stop for 5 weeks due to elevated enzymes. It is now safe to resume treatment.
Does the break in treatment mean that I will have to restart the whole course? My derm says that I should be able to resume the course at the 10-week mark. I am worried that the accutane will not be effective due to the 5 week break in the middle of the treatment.
I would be grateful for your opinion on this.

Im a 26 years old and may be 4 - 6 weeks pregnant. I have done a couple of home pregnancy test which all tested positive. My OB/Gyn appointment is not until next week. My husband is currently taking Accutane and had been on the medication for 4 months and counting. I've read that while taking Accutane, women are strictly advised against getting pregnant as it causes serious birth defects. Is it the same case for man taking Accutane?
after that i had Shaking in my hand (for 3 month then it removed) and bad concentration (i did not know till now why i did not go dr may i was thinking that is not problem ) after 4 year i did a test for thyroid and the result was positive for hypothyroidism , i want to ask if there is connection between the medication (Isotretinoin and accutane) and hypothyroidism and if it reversible
I am a 6'1 85 kg male who has been on accutane for 120 days (4 months). I started on 20 mg a day month 1, 40 mg month 2, and 60 mg months 3 and 4. 3 weeks ago I had my 1st eye infection of my entire life in my right eye so I went to an opthamalogist and he told me to stop taking the accutane for a week (which is what he says caused the infection) and put me on doxyclince hyclate 100mg twice a day and eurithromyocin gel to put on my eyelid that knocked the infection out.
Is anyone aware of a linkage between isotretonoin (Accutane), used for treating cystic acne, and Sjogren's, which is linked to the epithelial cells? At 21, when Accutane first appeared, doses were higher than current (I remember my skin bleeding when scratching lightly with a fingernail). I am now 51, and have had Reynaud's for a number of years, and was just diagnosed with Sjogren's. Just curious if anyone has seen this?
t start till June I can go to class next quarter Yahoo. Even if USC changes my mind about who does it I can still push it off till summer. I can't stay home I just can't.
I walked to the library without stopping and back (with a bathroom break and grabbed a couple of books inbetween) with the walker. I wasn't able to do it without stopping a lot 2 weeks ago. Yahoo. Oh and I started PT exercises on Thursday. It went well. I'm still working on getting off the walker.
If accutane is the cause of all this pain then I’m not sure what to think. I’ve benefitted a lot from accutane in terms of confidence and opportunity but my health definitely hasn’t been the best since I’ve gotten on it. I’ve been contemplating staying on a continuo’s cycle of accutane since I fear breakouts so much but after reading these posts, I’m not sure what to do. I appreciate accutane for helping look good because people definitely treat you much better without accutane.
It seems to me that there are some similarities between this antibiotic and Accutane. Maybe not as severe side effects but the overall impression I am getting is that Accutane is more effective and if closely monitored, safer. Is this true? My doctor didnt give me the impression that there was much I needed to be worried about. All I was told was to take it with a full glass of water 2x a day. Are there severe side effects that I need to worry about while taking this antibiotic?
m a 17 year old girl who has always been healthy - I eat well balanced food and take care of my health. However, in the previous month something changed. I started feeling anxious for no reason, I can hear my heart beating and although my pulse was always kind of fast, I think it got even faster. A week ago I noticed that when I wake up and go to sleep my throat hurts a little, like something scratched it, I am sneezing quite often and my nose feels weird.

In 2004 i took accutane against my accne. I took a regular cure for 7 months and then stopped.
A few months after i stopped i noticed that i looked much MUCH better then i have ever done before, skin color, eyes, hair, body odor, everything changed to normal for me.
Then i noticed that i could read articles, watch movies and understand pretty much everything. When i talked to people it was like i saw the words in front of me so i knew what i was going to say all the time.
I would not reccomend accutane is she is planing on becoming pregnant in the next 5 years. Plus it will only be a quick fix, i'd try a natropath to se what the underlying cause of the acne might be ( horomone inbalance, allergy to something...
ve had major problems with acne (just the face) and just finished taking Accutane. Consequently, I was recently diagnosed with anxiety and depression (unrelated to the Accutane as I had issues before) so have started Lexapro and Clonazapam. I live in KS, have pets, hike somewhat frequently, and an 24 and otherwise healthy.
A few weeks ago, I started developing little clusters of bumps. Maybe 8 in each cluster, three clusters, along with some random ones singularly elsewhere.
I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.
I was on Accutane for 6 months @ 20mg daily. I have been off for 7 months and the pain in my joints and bones has only gotten worse! I'm worried the drug is still in my body as I'm STILL suffering all the symptoms (dry eyes, dry/itchy scalp, joint/bone pain). PLEASE help me! I used to be an athelete. I had to quit all physical activity including my waitressing job because I simply cannot move. A stroll in the park leaves me stiff and aching.
Hi. Accutane increases the risk of liver problems so avoid too much alcohol whilst taking this medicine.

Take accutane, i'm 17 now and went on it when I was 16 and it worked wonders and keeps tje acne away, I had moderate acne and oily skin too....I play Major Junior hockey and it didn't affect my play in a negative bodily way, it boosted my confidence if anything!......I did a 4 month treatment of it on a lower dose so I would reccommend that, higher doses are for sever cases like grade 4 or between 3 and 4.....
Other necessary precautions are to avoid exposure to UV rays, avoid too much alcohol, and not to take tetracycline antibiotics whilst on Accutane or for 5 weeks afterwards. Female Accutane patients must use two forms of contraception whilst on Accutane and for 5 weeks afterwards. Male patients do not need to abstain from unprotected sex but must not donate blood in case it is given to a pregnant women.
