She is currently on Bactrim and due to go back to Dermatologist tomorrow with suggestion of starting Accutane. She woke up with this acne in mid-December and began taking Vyvanse a few weeks before. Could there be any correlation? I don't want to jump into Accutane if Vyvanse could be causing it but she is so self-conscious.
we have tried everything. peels. accutane, birth control pills, creams. so on and so on. is there something or someone out there doing cutting edge treatments? drug trials ? please just a product name or a name of a doctor that can help beyond the norm.
There are different forms of Accutane. Nephew started with Accutane and it didn't help after 6 months. My sister sent him to another dermatologist and she said, "No, you need on a different form of Accutane." It worked. Was on it for 1 year and has the best complex now. I am 25 and have ben suffering from it for about 5 years now. It really does suck. Ive been on accutane and it really did work. But i quit about 50 days ago and had 3 pimples form into 1 big cyst right by me eye. It was so huge and horrible and very embarassing to be in public. So I decided to try a cortisone injection. I'm a 60 year old female taking Lotrel 5/20 and 25 mg Spironolactone for hypertension. (I started on HCTZ, however, after 3 months I developed a vascular rash on my arms which my doctor said was a reaction to the HCTZ and the sun so he switched me to Spironolactone). My BP has come down too low....I was getting readings of 98/58...so my doctor told me to take the Spironolactone only 2X per week.

After 1 year on having half a pill of Levotiroxine every morning, and half a pill of Spironolactone every night+2nights a week 1 complete pill, My test result is: T4=7.6 and TSH=4.4.
My doctor stopped Spironolactone, since I don't have ance anymore. but after 2 years of having it, I have hair loss. My doctor said it is not related. Isn't it related ?

I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. Hi. Accutane is prescribed for severe acne which has not responded to an adequate (normally 2 years) course of oral antibiotics and topical treatment. It is not intended to be given as a first line treatment, and is not indicated for acne occuring before puberty. Care must be taken when prescribing to adolescent patients who have not finished growing.

Take accutane, i'm 17 now and went on it when I was 16 and it worked wonders and keeps tje acne away, I had moderate acne and oily skin too....I play Major Junior hockey and it didn't affect my play in a negative bodily way, it boosted my confidence if anything!......I did a 4 month treatment of it on a lower dose so I would reccommend that, higher doses are for sever cases like grade 4 or between 3 and 4.....
Other necessary precautions are to avoid exposure to UV rays, avoid too much alcohol, and not to take tetracycline antibiotics whilst on Accutane or for 5 weeks afterwards. Female Accutane patients must use two forms of contraception whilst on Accutane and for 5 weeks afterwards. Male patients do not need to abstain from unprotected sex but must not donate blood in case it is given to a pregnant women.
17 year old daughter having stomach issues, just got a positive test for celiac, has bad acne, derm wants to put her on accutane. I am worried about the accutane and her stomach. Not sure celiac is only cause of stomach aches. Also birth control pill used to control acne, then she went off and it came back worse than ever. My dermatologist decided it was time to give accutane a try. I did a 7 month course and reached the target cumulative dose of 120 mg/kg. I did not have much of an initial breakout, was pretty much clear for months 3 to 6. Near the end of my course I started to get a few zits.

Hi, I have been on accutane for about alittle over a month. My dose is 20mg per day. I noticed about my fifth week using it that I developed a rash on the top of both my hands. It looks like little dots/pimples. They don't itch or burn. I thought it was ezema but I don't know. Is this a side effect from the accutane? Does anyone know how to treat this rash? I never had this before.
I am 20 years old I was using accutane for 6 months, I was supposed to have a small surgery in my pelvis while on the drug but my doctor told me to wait and he explained that no surgery should be performed because the drug does indeed interfere with wound healing in fact he recommended to get the surgery 6 months after I have been off the drug but you should definitely ask her doctor/surgeon about it and get a better opinion ...wish you and your daughter the best.
I am taking 400 mg of Spironolactone for acne and 10 mg of Klonopin once a day for anxiety. Can I take these drugs until I become pregnant? Or do I have to stop now?
