I have been wondering that since acne is a hormonal problem, would it be a good idea for me to take him to an endocrinologist or would this just cause another issue? The thought of messing with his hormones scares me a little. How about a homeopathic doctor? I just need a little direction. Please help. Okay so I am indeed 15, but have a problem that has been concerning me for a while. Essentially, I cannot get hard or masturbate at all. I want to, but I simply can't and I'm very worried. Obviously, this is an even bigger hindrance regarding girls as I can't perform in any way whatsoever. I don't take drugs or anything of the sorts, I'm just a typical teenage guy. It is worth a try because accutane has its own side effects and especially for girls who may be sexually active...I'm not saying that your daughter is though...but getting pregnant while on accutane is very bad.

Thank you for the replies. We have decided to hold off on the accutane for at least a year. My son is on yet another bunch of prescriptions (tazorac gel instead of the cream-as well as doxycycline 100 mgs 2x a day, prescription benzoyl peroxide/salicylic acid pads) and so far his skin is much better. After talking at length with my husband and our son, we decided that the chance of stunting his growth, as well as the joint/muscle pain would be too much of a risk.

Hello there, Im a 26 years old and may be 4 - 6 weeks pregnant. I have done a couple of home pregnancy test which all tested positive. My OB/Gyn appointment is not until next week. My husband is currently taking Accutane and had been on the medication for 4 months and counting. I've read that while taking Accutane, women are strictly advised against getting pregnant as it causes serious birth defects. Is it the same case for man taking Accutane?

Acne inversa is another name for hidradenitis suppurativa. but that condition primarily affects the armpits and sometimes the groin, not the buttocks. So it's hard for me to answer your questions without knowing for sure what you have. Have any cultures for bacteria been done? Biopsies? It is true that Accutane doesn't work very well for cystic diseases that aren't true acne, but nothing else does either, so a course of this drug seems reasonable.

I feel for you so much. I took Accutane for FIVE DAYS over two months ago and it is STILL thinning out my skin. I am only 23. I will look like I am in my 40's in no time, and my eyes look sick. My eyelids are like tissue paper and I have never known such devastation in my life. I have had many suicidal thoughts. It is a disgrace that this drug is prescribed. The FDA is completely negligent.

I have been taking accutane for 7 months now. 20 mg first month, 40 next, then 80 which is my current dose. I have a predicted one more month to go(and it has been helping). You need to get checked and tested There are many different things that can be going on... You don't want to mess with you fertility since ONE DAY WHEN YOUR OLDER you might want children. My aunt had to take B/C pills from age 13 till 27 to regulate her cycle I was on to regulate cycle do to painful cycle that b/c pills made more regular and less painfull....

Why do you wait a year to prescribe topical treatment after Accutane? What skin care regime do you recommend? Do you prescribe antibiotics if the Accutane doesn't perform well? It has been difficult to get rationale for Accutane treatment. Thank you for your advice...

I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.

This Med help isn't very helpful. I posted this 3yrs ago, and haven't had any replies. Doctor says "no" to Hiperhydrosis, cut out wheat for a while, tried all topical ointments, anti-antiperspirants, alcohol, thyroid checked, dermatologist was lame,>direct prescription for accutane, which isn't going to happen, and still seem to get oeveheated and sweat for no reason. Good luck to anyone trying to stay away from prescriptions.
