If that is the case, the doctor could have treated it with something other than accutane. How long have you been off accutane and how long have you been treated for depression/anxiety? Was it during the time you were on accutane or once off of it? My gut feeling is that once the accutane is completely out of your system, your depression and anxiety will get back to where they were before.

I am 20 years old I was using accutane for 6 months, I was supposed to have a small surgery in my pelvis while on the drug but my doctor told me to wait and he explained that no surgery should be performed because the drug does indeed interfere with wound healing in fact he recommended to get the surgery 6 months after I have been off the drug but you should definitely ask her doctor/surgeon about it and get a better opinion ...wish you and your daughter the best.
Take accutane, i'm 17 now and went on it when I was 16 and it worked wonders and keeps tje acne away, I had moderate acne and oily skin too....I play Major Junior hockey and it didn't affect my play in a negative bodily way, it boosted my confidence if anything!......I did a 4 month treatment of it on a lower dose so I would reccommend that, higher doses are for sever cases like grade 4 or between 3 and 4.....
So far, lawsuits have focused on Accutane and birth defects, depression and suicide, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. I think after researching- I got my symtoms from several courses of Accutane medicine. Which they have pulled from the market. Any one else have the same problems from 10 yrs ago of using Accutane and what did you do to manage the IBS and stomach issues??
It seems to me that there are some similarities between this antibiotic and Accutane. Maybe not as severe side effects but the overall impression I am getting is that Accutane is more effective and if closely monitored, safer. Is this true? My doctor didnt give me the impression that there was much I needed to be worried about. All I was told was to take it with a full glass of water 2x a day. Are there severe side effects that I need to worry about while taking this antibiotic?
Month later it had no effect on me so he got me on accutane, I had no drug plan so money came out of my pocket i sold personal things of mine to get this "miracle" drug. 2months after my skin looks really red and irritated but acne is gone. After he told me it would go away i waited 4months and waiting still for this to go away. I am trying to do research on what this is everyone tells me different stuff and i really want to find a cure and have my skin back before i started accutane.
t seem like it is enough for my son, though. His fingers and feet are still hurting. He started Accutane (20/every other day) in September. I am just trying to figure out if anything is connected and if we should be doing anything else. I don't figure we would give him any Raynaud's meds, even if they were offered by a doctor, but I would hate to not notice if he has some other illness.
This delusional belief was precipitated by the fact that accutane causes depression. Thankfully I did not have brain tumor.
Today when I should be loving medical school, I am hating my life. I see floaters in my vision everywhere I go. Hospitals have white walls and white floors and my floaters are most obvious in such situations. All in all my life is hell right now.
Please treat your acne, if you have it, by topical antibiotics.
ve had major problems with acne (just the face) and just finished taking Accutane. Consequently, I was recently diagnosed with anxiety and depression (unrelated to the Accutane as I had issues before) so have started Lexapro and Clonazapam. I live in KS, have pets, hike somewhat frequently, and an 24 and otherwise healthy.
A few weeks ago, I started developing little clusters of bumps. Maybe 8 in each cluster, three clusters, along with some random ones singularly elsewhere.
like ttjones I took accutane for 4 months but it was in 1998. I haven't felt normal since. Depression and joint pain, scalp problems, light sensitive eyes. I would suggest not taking the drug.
I doubt accutane would do anything like that to you. I took it for 6 months or so...however it kind of is a mind drug, but that's mostly depression, craziness and anger stuff. If it wasn't they wouldn't make you sign 15 waivers or so to take it. My skin looks great though...on your other ordeal get moving on it quick so you don't suffer for very long. take a lifestyle change and begin to eat healthy or juice so your antibiotics don't annihilate your body, plus probiotics.
I got scars like Brad Pitt even though I am healthy, fit, active, lean, low body fat, full abs 6pack. It saddens me to go through this. Basically, I lost family in a accident about a year ago. No doctors will prescribe accutane for me.
I tried organics, diets name it, Atkins, low gymcemic, no bread, no dairy or sugar or flour, low glycemic, anti inflammatory, even a natural pathic doctor priced at $125/hr. Little to no help. Temporary relief.
I am now assuming it is because of the Accutane. I am looking into legal action because I also suffer from depression which is a major side effect of the drug.
Please know that life goes on with keloids. I am happily married with two beautiful children.

My experience with Accutane was not a pleasant one, there was severe drying of the mucous membranes and constant thirst and cracked bleeding lips, dry eyes, and depression. Accutane can be a very dangerous drug. It can cause birth defects and I was required (and believe that it is still required) to have a pregnancy test done every month to be eligible for the medication to be refilled. You should also have a liver panel run before and during treatment.
The thing that caught my eye was right at the very end of your post. Accutane. There has been a LOT of talk lately about Accutane causing severe gastro problems that sound a lot like what you've been experiencing with that. These problems, apparently, can show up YEARS after having taken the Accutane.
I don't know that the Accutane could explain ALL of your symptoms, but it very well may explain the GI issues and I would definitely mention it to and ask your GI doc about it.
I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.
Some symptoms of hypo are similar to side effects of Accutane. It is also known for Accutane to resurface unmasked autoimmune disorders, which may have been in me latent.

ll have to live with it for the rest of my life and that the only possible treatment for this is laser. Is all of this accurate? I did finish accutane about 3 months ago which cleared up my acne but all of this redness is just terrible and looks like i still have cystic acne. Now im just totally depressed about this if its true.
Is this true that i'll have to look like this for the rest of my life?
I thought redness fades with time? does it not?
