Avatar m tn after that i had Shaking in my hand (for 3 month then it removed) and bad concentration (i did not know till now why i did not go dr may i was thinking that is not problem ) after 4 year i did a test for thyroid and the result was positive for hypothyroidism , i want to ask if there is connection between the medication (Isotretinoin and accutane) and hypothyroidism and if it reversible
Avatar n tn Should I eat anything with vitamin A? and if I only have mild acne but have never had clear skin since grade 7 should I still take it?
Avatar m tn The second possibility to be ruled out is of vitamin D deficiency. Symptoms of hypothyroidism are fatigue, depression, weight gain, cold intolerance, dry, coarse hair and skin, constipation ,muscle cramps, decreased concentration, vague aches and pains, palpitation and swelling of the legs. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar m tn Ok so i am 20 years old and i took accutane for about 3 months, then stopped due to lower back pain. After much research i found that the accutane dries up the glands that produce synovial fluid that lubricates your joints. Since then i've been taking hyaluronic acid which helps lube the joints.
Avatar m tn For the melasma, treatment options include treatment with vitamin C and hydrocortisone, peel with carbon dioxide snow and alexandrite and ND-Yag Q-Switched laser treatment preceded by a hydroquinone-based application. But get it done after the course of Accutane. Please discuss these options with your dermatologist. Avatar m tn My brows have never been perfectly full and thick, but they were for sure a lot thicker before this started to happen. The doctors took thyroid and vitamin bloodtests on me, and the thyroid test came out normal but it turns out I lack Vitamin D. Could this be the reason why I'm loosing eyebrow hairs? I'm also on accutane medication for my acne, but my problem started a couple months before I started accutane so I don't think it's what's causing my eyebrow hair loss.

Avatar n tn She recently (2 weeks ago) started taking a low dose of accutane every other day and noticed her face and scalp began to itch and flake. She is now concerned about her hair thinning and even being lost, claiming that it has at least begun to thin. My question: Is there a strong correlation between hair thinning/loss with accutane patients? Should she be concerned about permanent hair loss? If her hair is thinning, is this permanent as well or temporary?
Avatar n tn i have started accutane 4 days ago u lot a getting me scared but my face it terrible let u know how i get on
Avatar n tn Today, it is as bad as it ever was, but now I have acne, severe dry skin patches, premature wrinkles, and age spots. I wish I had skipped the synthetic vitamin A and just used fish oil and other supplements. I recently found some help with taking organic cod liver oil (Carlson's) which is naturally high in vitamin A. I also see improvement now that I take plenty of zinc and vitamin C. Egg yolk applied topically (also high in A) is supposed to work. I hope this helps you.
Avatar n tn I started taking medicine and went for Vitamin D test .Vitamin D level was normal .Then I consulted Rhemotologist he advised me to continue with sandocal with vitamin D3 . I am taking Sandocal with vitamin D3 since last 64 days but still I haivng pain in muscles and bones and swelling in fingers. Pain is very cronic before periods. Please suggest me that pain is only due to high PTH and I am taking right medication or it is due to high anti ccp and high rhemotoid factor.
Avatar n tn Drug interaction of Claravis or Accutane includes tetracyclines , vitamin A-type drugs, vitamin A, and drugs that cause bone loss such as anti-seizure drugs such as phenytoin and corticosteroids. If you experience severe headaches and other symptoms like mood changes, muscle /joint pain or painful swallowing or peeling skin, it is best that you inform your doctor for proper management. Also when prescription medicine for migraine is not providing relief. Take care and do keep us posted.

My face is getting back to its normal greasy self.I have many embarrassing scars on my face, My question is, is it okay to have laser treatment on my face or microdembrasion or do i suffer the possiblilty of having my acne scars worse than they are now?
Avatar n tn As a patient with MS, you can expect to have the same risks and side effects as other people on accutane, and these side effects and risks need to be discussed with you by your dermatologist before you start taking it. However, I would also run this by your neurologist who manages your MS just to make sure he/she feels that accutane may affect your MS in some way. Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck.
Avatar n tn I know that ProActive is a good one, tends to dry out your skin though. I took Accutane way back in the day, don't even know if they still have that on the market, it helped so much. I have heard that high doses of Vitamin D also help, I have heard that, haven't tried it. Ask your doctor first.
Avatar n tn I have read about taking Vitamin B5...I am wondering if you know anything about this and if it is safe? And if not, do you have any recommendations for somthing that may work. I have tried cutting out dairy and I would try cutting out caffeine but I am a coffee drinker so its rough. Any other thoughts or recommendations are appreciated.
Avatar f tn t seem like it is enough for my son, though. His fingers and feet are still hurting. He started Accutane (20/every other day) in September. I am just trying to figure out if anything is connected and if we should be doing anything else. I don't figure we would give him any Raynaud's meds, even if they were offered by a doctor, but I would hate to not notice if he has some other illness.
Avatar m tn CBC, CMP, Thyroid (every type of test multiple times), Cortisol, Lyme (multiple times), EBV, all types of vitamin and minerals, and much more. Every test was fine. I take a two-per day mutli by life extension and a strong probiotic. Integrative doctor has me taking large doses of b6 for past few months. I have tried d-ribose for energy, with no improvement. Only change came for a few days in early september when for three days, after starting coq10 three days before (maybe this caused it?

Avatar f tn I was on accutane when I was a teenager, I am now 26 and have been acne free for years. Sudenly I started to break out again. Does accutane stop working years after taking it? Can I take it again?
Avatar n tn I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I am just uncertain because I haven't been on it very long, but I am already experiencing dry lips, so I suppose I could be experiencing other side effects already, too.
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 43 years old and about ten years ago started breaking out and gradually became allergic to certain foods and ALL alcohol. The last three years I have been on low dose accutane, although my derm wanted me to do a much higher dose, my body just couldn't take it so I do my own dosage of 20 mgs per week. I try to prolong it as long as I can. Now, on top of this I also take antihistamines for my allergies. I am basically dried up.
Avatar f tn In girls ages 9 to 13, regular supplementation with calcium and vitamin D has been shown to significantly increase bone density and bone strength. As for Magnesium, It can make you sleepy try taking a lower dose and buy either Magnesium citrate or malate.
Avatar m tn I am also a former user of accutane (but many years ago). Though not as potent, I continue to use vitamin A capsules on a daily basis to assist with clear skin. Good luck!
