and then i read the accutane warnings again and i noticed it says you should take birth control pills a month before going on accutane and of course i didn't do that cause i didn't know i was supposed to do that... am i likely to be pregnant? i'm 19 years old. and i think we had sex without a condom on october 13 and october 16. and i'm taking Minesse pills, they are combination pills..

Mikaleen is right you are required to sign paper work AND use TWO form of birth control at the start, during treatment, and for a full month after treatment. You should have also been required to have a negative pregnancy test monthly to so much as have even had a prescription refill. Most time after a reported pregnancy doctors do not continue the the treatment AND Your doctor is required by law to report any pregnancy while on the medication to the FDA and iPLEDGE.

Accutane has alot of varied side-effects, but some people don't have adverse reactions. my girlfriend had taken accutane and didn't have any stomach reactions but part of the accutane contract requires birth control regardless of activity. But I know my gf's opinion i: " Accutane is great" It worked for her really well for acne, and she didn't exhibit negative side effects from it.

When I was on it.. they said that I need to use 2 forms of Birth Control at all times, and made me read all this material about potential birth defects. I don't want to scare you, but I do remember the problems being severe, like missing limbs completelty, etc.. have you already spoken with your doctor (OB0 and/or your Dermatologist? I know that there is definitely an underlying problem with this acne and facial hair and feel that hormones must be in play. Adkins (the same one as the diet) I was able to eliminate all the medication and keep the illness under control. A lot of vitamins and a very restricted diet is what has helped me along the way. There are different forms of Accutane. Nephew started with Accutane and it didn't help after 6 months. My sister sent him to another dermatologist and she said, "No, you need on a different form of Accutane." It worked. Was on it for 1 year and has the best complex now. I went to an opthamologist today and got my eyes checked out. Because of accutane and even my birth control, he was worried about the possibility of pseudotumor cerebri (as my dermatologist was). But he saw no signs of papiladema (not sure how to spell that), and he prescribed me glasses (I used to be 20/20) and said to wear them fairly often for the next three weeks and see if my symptoms subside at all. But if they don't then I have to get some tests done.

I am asking this because while taking the ATB the contraceptive effectiveness against pregnancy will be decreased, so another form of birth control should be used as well, e.g. condoms. If she is not sexually active, no worries.

today and he said that he believed it was indeed from the accutane and dryness it causes and advised I stop using accutate! Well 2 months into this I hate to stop now. I have used everything from creams, lotion, neoaspiren and nothing makes it go away but it does soothe the pain. I have an appointment with my dermatologist on Friday and am going to see what she says. After reading this site I have the EXACT thing as described above so I feel much better that it is from the Accutane.

I've only been on Accutane (actually, a generic brand of it) for ten days, and I experienced my first migraine on day 9. I am unsure if the migraine could be connected to Accutane, but I did a little research and some instances of migraines have been reported by Accutane users. I had a ischemic stroke 2 years ago at the age of 22 caused by birth control. Almost immediately after the fact, my skin erupted in severe acne covering almost every inch of my face. Hi, I have currently been off my birth control (Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo) for about 3 months and am expericencing the WORST acne of my life.
