Just thought I would let you all know for future reference if there are any sufferers in NZ, that I saw Dr Andrew Law yesterday, and found him to be excellent in every way. He has a good understanding of Chiari, Syrinx, Spina Bifida, amongst other things and was very helpful to me. He's very experienced (I did some homework!) and a really down to earth guy who takes a patient seriously.

I have been on coreg and accupril for going on 5 months now, and was hoping that my heart would have begun to reshape itself somewhat by now. My particular concern, among many, is the abnormal arrythmias which I believe this LV enlargement is causing. Shouldn't there be some improvement by now? Any insight would be appreciated.

We have had several members from NZ....not sure if ne are still active right now...we have had clintsmum, and a few others.....I can only recall her name right now...sorry, but if u use the search this community feature u should be able to put in the topic to locate older threads on the topic of location and see if they r still active....they may troll and see this too...

I had been getting headaches off and on 2-3 days before everything, and put it off as being my sinuses due to being in the heat. I was put back on Accupril 10mg for the blood pressure, and a month later my bp was stable 120/80 or less, althought my heart rate stayed high usually around 120 even when resting.

I am unsure if the NZ tests are duo's as such and many NZ medical professionals seem to think you need to wait 4 weeks but I rang a lab pathologist and he said the blood tests do have a p24 antigen component. 1. Do you know what tests NZ uses? 2. I am concerned because I had a stomach illness starting two days before I had the test, until a couple of days after. If this was ARS, would the antigen, or the antibody tests show positive??

My granddaughter (10) has just been diagnosed with SVT. (No treatment as yet). She was due to fly to the UK from NZ for Xmas to stay with her Dad. Her Mum NZ resident now says she can't fly. Is SVT a bar to flying in children? Other than these two episodes she is well and no other known underlying medical conditions. She would be flying with me and I am a registered nurse.

Doctors here in NZ dish out tramadol like lollies 'instead' of opiates. Reading the posts here I am shocked to see it's just as nasty as coming off opiates...if not worse! I wonder when NZ will realise this...?

I treated with 1200 Riba daily and 180 mg interferon weekly with Pegasus. I was cured with this short treatment. I live in NZ and the doctors here allow patients to stop if they fulfill the strictest criteria for stopping early. It worked for me, so good luck to those of you who are considering the same option.

Not sure where you live but in NZ when I asked for something for my nausea they said tough love there was nothing to prescribe. Suggest travel calm ginger pills and ginger beer...

I am in my late thirties and my son was 3 years old at the time of my diagnosis. I live in NZ and during my darkest days of my terminal prognosis there was no ovarian cancer foundation in NZ. Since then one has been formed called the Silver Ribbon Foundation for Gyneacological Cancer and I am currently the volunteer Marketing Mgr as I have beat the odds and I am in remission.

Over the last 3-4 weeks I have developed slight persistant numbness/weakness in my left pinky and half of my left ring finger nearest the pinky, this is constant and also sporadic numbness/weakness in my feet (usually the top of the foot) and right hand during sleep. This tends to wake up, I can then 'shake out' this numbness/weakness and go back to sleep but not after lying there for a while wondering what is going on. I have been on a round the world trip for the last 9 months.

Hi ladies!! i am 16 weeks pregnant and m based in NZ. The weather is really cold here. From last 2-3 weeks m suffering from flu and didn't take any medicine. I feel better for 3-4 days and then goes back to the same condition; fever, itchy throat, cough nd bad headache. I am really worried about it, is it affecting my baby as well.
