Abscess x ray

Common Questions and Answers about Abscess x ray

abscess

Avatar n tn I would rather recommend a periapical x-ray (small dental x-ray) along with occlusal view x-ray used in dentistry as they can give meticulous details of the region involved. Also, they will even help evaluate the healing achieved so far. As your history was very troublesome hence healing may be delayed. This retreated back tooth could also be the notorious element in delayed healing of the area. Get x-rays done to clear out the picture.
Avatar f tn Had a lower lobe lung abscess i spent 2 weeks in hospital on IV and 7 weeks on oral antibiotics feeling bad all the way through. Only seen the consultant once who said from a x-ray i believe it has gone. Paid for private MRI which picked up lobe opacification - x-ray showed nothing Paid for private bloods which only picked up Anti-streptolysin O level over 320 - yet to investigate Going round in circles, any advice would be so appreciated!
Avatar m tn Your descriptions don't suggest presence of infection, seeing an MD to rule out fibromyalgia, lupus erythematosus, and other systemic diseases is advised.
Avatar f tn She drained, and packed the abscess etc, but during the process I felt my neck was starting to go into spasm, and my ears felt funny too, so I signalled for the dentist to stop. She proceeded to get an X-ray taken, and in the X-Ray, the tool she was using was stuck down my tooth, poking out the side! She said she thinks it is a crack in the side of my tooth, and this is what caused a lot of bleeding during the procedure.
1521268 tn?1291123879 In some people the occipital bone at the back of the skull has a protuberance. This is a normal finding and comes up in X-ray. Another normal finding is a protruding spine of cervical vertebra due to bad posture, again detected by X-ray.
Avatar n tn A dental x-ray can generally identify the source of infection.
Avatar f tn My dentist took an x-ray of my mouth and found no sign of a tooth abscess, even though when she drilled the infected tooth (which had a filling), there was a foul smell, indicating an abscessed tooth. There is also a swelling below my left jaw, and it is difficult to swallow and open my mouth. The dentist didn't explain much regarding why the x-Ray didn't reflect the tooth abscess.
5195620 tn?1364978700 Is it a lung abscess? An abscess is a collection of pus and a lung abscess can follow a pneumonia. If a person has lung abscess, besides cough she will have other symptoms like high temperature and will be toxic. Asthma can predispose to lung infections as a result of phlegm collections. This is usually diagnosed by spirometry. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn This is a normal finding and comes up in X-ray. Another normal finding is a protruding spine of cervical vertebra due to bad posture, again detected by X-ray. The other possibilities are a cyst (usually grows big or small depending on the fluid in it), a neurofibroma (localized harmless swelling in a nerve), lipoma (localized collection of fat), a swollen lymph node, an abscess, or folliculitis (hair follicle infection).
Avatar f tn It could also be an abscess. You will need to consult your doctor, who may ask for an X ray to ***** the spine, if needed he may even ask for a CT scan, please consult him for an evaluation. Regards.
Avatar f tn I have a dental appointment tomorrow and I know they may try to give me an x-ray. I'm 16 weeks now and this is my first pregnancy. I went to the dentist earlier this year and they didn't want to do an x-ray because I was in my 1st trimester. Is it really safe to have one done now?
Avatar n tn I have a daughter who doesn't live with me and she has lice will it show up in an x-ray

Avatar n tn I had a chest X-Ray and the doctor asked me if I'd ever been told that I have an elevated diaphragm and I replied no
Avatar f tn Last month I started to have sharp pains under my left side of my rib cage, and after getting a chest x-ray the doctor said I had pneumonia. I did a stint of antibiotics and felt better, but then when I did a follow up x-ray they found a 3.5cm spot on my lung that was there before but hadn't gone away (no change though). I had a CT scan done this week and the scan confirmed a small mass in my lung and now I have an appointment with the pulmonologist on Friday.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the info. Do I risk horrible health consequences if an abscess develops during those six weeks? Most recent x-ray taken today didn't show signs of an abscess - how fast does such an abscess usually take to develop?
Avatar m tn Swallowing of a foreign object into stomach may not cause serious problems until it destroys the mucosa of the GI tract that causes serious hemorrhage.Get an abdominal X-ray done in the morning with out taking any food the other night.Tell your Doc about the situation you face.Drugs may be used to promote bowel movements and let the foreign body come out through rectum.Dont ever to vomit out as that may cause the esophagus rupture.
Avatar f tn the best strategy is to have a periodic dental exam, including x-Ray, fix a cavity whenever it is identified.
Avatar n tn I really do not think it is a abscess unless it is draining before the x-ray is taken. Or I had a abcess that has moved into other areas of the face. I initially thought it was a dental abscess, but I am not so sure anymore. No fever, or chills. I have had some sinus issues for a while now burning eyes, sensitivity to light, one sided sore throat, and phantom tooth pain. All of theses symptoms seem to come, and go on a weekly basis. I have also spoken to a ENT about these problems.
Avatar f tn He had a chest X-ray to see if it was a muscle or skeletal problem, but the X-ray showed nothing abnormal. We thought it might be gallstones, but assume the X-ray would have showed those and the doctor didn't seem to think that was the problem. He's not overweight, but his cholesterol is a few points high (we've been eating better and exercising more the past few weeks to deal with that). He has no history of gastrointestinal problems.
Avatar n tn I have had an abcess and infection at the tip of a front tooth root for four years. I knew that I had problems and this is what showed up on the x-ray. Two weeks ago I had a root canal treatment on this tooth. It was fine for about 10 days but now feels painful and just the same as it did prior to the treatment. Will it be possible for the dentist to re-do the root canal treatment, and if this does not work are there any other options to try and save the tooth?
Avatar f tn I started to have pains in my ribs and upper stomach discomfort, a couple of weeks after I had my daughter by c-section. It wakes me up. And I cant relax. I went to the emergency but they couldnt seem to find out what was wrong, They said my bloodwork was abnormal and asked me to come back the next day for some more bloodwork. I also had an X-ray done. I'm just wondering if it is serious. I'm very wooried.
Avatar n tn Hello Dr. Jain, At outset I thank you for taking your time out for me. I would also like to add further clarity to my previous post. I would like to mention that my L2-L3-L4 region of my spine is affected only on the left side. As mentioned earlier I underwent biopsy surgery in August'07 and the TB culture test showed sensitive to streptomycin, rifampicin, ethambutol, isoniazid. I am taking the above medicines in dosages as mentioned in my previous post except for streptomycin injection.
