An abscess is basically a build up of pus and infection in the jaw bone area. I assume that since you've seen a dentist recently, it probably would've been spotted at your last checkup as they generally develop from large cavities. There are abscess that also develop from gum disease as well but assuming you had a cleaning and check up, thats also a little more unlikely. Best to get it checked out and taken care of.

Hi, A lump in the scrotum can be a cyst or an abscess. As it is not painful unless you apply significant pressure on it, it is more likely to be a cyst. Sebaceous cysts form in areas where there are a lot of sweat glands and hair follicles and require treatment if they become infected. The problem with sebaceous cysts is that they usually have a cyst wall in place and can keep recurring even after you drain them.

I went to the doctor 2day 6/15/2011 because I had a Large swollen hard bump on the left side of my vagina wall & the pain was gettin unbearable I could no longer sit so the doc cut it open & drained it. It was diagnose to be a VAGINAL ABSCESS so now the pain is gone the swelling went down a LIL bit but its still there & very swollen (YUK) ...... ? Just had my third surgery due to abscess about a month and a half ago, and for the past few weeks have had this strange pain. Any pain that seems to be in the area of the rectum, makes me leary of abscesses, but this is different. The pain is in the left gluteus, into the bend of my hip, as well as the rectum. Does anyone know about diverticulitis? I had pain on my left side and trouble pooping and went to the ER. They took a CT scan and said I had diverticulitis with inflammation. I was given antibiotics, and later told to get IV antibiotics. But when I was in the hospital the doctor said I was schedule for a surgery consultation, and no one told me they were considering surgery. I got scared. The surgeon said she wanted to take out part of my sigmoid colon and give me a colostomy bag.

If it is an abscess you could a fever but not always, also it would be red or have pus and swelling can be an indication. But if it is deep inside it maybe a pocket that is infected. It is hard to know that. It could be that the muscle was bruised. Is it more noticeable in that it is getting more red or more painful or what do you see? It is a good idea to double check it with a doctor. If it is nothing and just internal bruising that will go away at least you will not worry about it.

I had an abdominal Hysterectomy on 4/26. I was in the hospital 3 days. I was discharged with a fever but told to keep an eye on it. On 5/5 the pain was so bad and the fever had went up to 101.6 the night before. I was sent for blood work and an ultra sound. After the ultra sound, they called the ob/gyn who sent me back to the hospital and had me admitted.

t think a tumor but maybe an abcess or could be something that she injested that her body has tried to wall off and has caused an infection. Thoughts? How long does kennel cough take to heal, from what I read it can be months for a full recovery. Hi! Its possible to have a natural delivery. It is only necessary to do a c-section if you have a scar on your uterus--not your abdominal wall. We don't usually recommend pregnancy until you have leveled out on the weight loss. Also, it will be very important to take your vitamins because there can be some absorption issues after this type of surgery. The surgery is great for fertilty though--often after significant weight loss, the periods resume and women begin ovulating again.

It should extensive diverticula and some thickening of the wall of the colon, so they thought it may possibly be diverticulitis and put me on two weeks liquid diet with flagyl and cipro. That had no effect (other than to give me diarriah and make me feel nauseous), so they had me do another two weeks of clear liquid diet with augmentin.

Um, I'm 16 years old-never had sex and only Frenched with my boyfriend once. I discovered a lump/bump on my left vagina wall a couple days again, I think. While I was on interferon therapy and my resistance was low, I developed an abscess on my buttock that was drained and healed. I don't no wot causes it but my I'm in pain. Hi i started with really bad tooth pain and went to the emergency dentist who said its infected and got an abscess. They give me amoxicillin 500mg i started them yesterday teatime then last night my face started to swell up on the right side where the bad tooth is never had this before. Now i look like an hamster what i want to know is how long will it take for the tablets to work i have taken 4 so far. Also most of the pain as gone but still really soar.
