When tapping my abscessed tooth there was incredible pain but now when i tap this tooth the pain hardly changes. The gum tissue above my abscessed tooth was also very sensitive, dark pink, and began to develop a boil. There is no sign of that this time. Salt water relieved pain completely when i had my abscessed tooth but now salt water has no effect whatsoever. I went to the doctor and he believed it to be sinusitus and prescribed antibiotics and saline nose rinse.

I have been having tooth pain on my right side for a few weeks now, I am sure it is a cavity. At about the same time I got the pain in my tooth my right eye became weird. The veins are all red and bulged and it is heavy like when a hand or foot gets numbed from sitting on or standing on. Sometimes it feels like its not even there like that side of my face is missing. The weird feeling is always there but the redness of the veins changes, from dark red to lighter shade of red.

My 8 year old cat, Kupid was diagnosed with a dental abscess about a week ago and put on clindamycin 1 ml twice a day. When she started she had a pink drainage coming from her right eye and right nostril. Her eye has gotten better and her nose has slightly improved. She is still sneezing and looks terrible but she is eating on her own. This cat has failed the pre anesthesia test twice after having complications during her spay surgery so we are reluctant to put her under to pull her tooth.

Hi there, The common causes of ulceration above eye tooth are gingivitis, canker sore, or a periodontal abscess. These are only few possibilities. Hi, I believe I have a tooth absess. There's a chip in one of my teeth, in my upper second premolar, on the left side of my face. There's plainly some black cavity/infection inside, and my upper left cheek is swollen and hard. I've been unable to get to the dentist for a month, and I have an appointment in two weeks. I've been taking amoxicyllin, admittedly not as often as I should have been. Probably 1-2 capsules a day.

The swelling and infection was one week after the root canal was done. I did have a second visit to the endodontist after I started the antibiotics. The recommendation was to hold off on the crown repair for a week after getting off the antibiotics to determine if the symptoms would return. The maxillary pain has returned affecting my eye w/ headaches. Possible extraction was mentioned.

So, antibiotics finished- and abscess, swelling and pain completely gone- now I have to find a dentist to pull the tooth... For reference- it was hell, and very worrying- I tried everything suggested from home remedies from swishing with salt water and waking up with teabags in my mouth- ONLY the antibiotics worked.... If you find yourself in the same worrying dituation- GET TO THE DOCTOR/DENTIST. It's the only think that'll work...

Last Friday he left work in severe pain, swollen mouth, what he thought was a piece of tooth or root poking through his gum and a sore on the bottom of his tongue from what he thought caused by the abrasion from the 'root'. He went to the Dentist on Monday & they indicated that he had a abscess & that it was part of his jaw bone, not a root or piece of tooth, exposed. They referred him back to the Periodontist today.

The problem you describe is not from blood spash to the eye but having a tooth abscess and having the bacteria enter the blood from the base of the tooth.

I have acute pain starting from my rt. nostril bone to the back of my rt. eye. Its a stabbing pain in the rt. eye to the extent that I feel like vomitting. Alcohol immediately triggers this symptom.

I have a root abscess from a broken tooth on the upper jaw. A week ago I had a severe pain on that tooth and I started taking Amoxicillin 500mg as my dentist prescribed in case of infection when he opened it to clean the roots.The next day the part next to my nose got swollen but the pain has gone.After 5 days on Amoxicillin the swell is not visible but I can feel it when I open my mouth. The tooth abscess is a different deal. Not at all likely that a tooth abscess will move to your eye. Likely your dentist has someone taking weekend call and you can try to reach that dentist tomorrow morning.

Has your dog had a recent injury, or cut there? If so it might have got infected. But a likely cause of this would be a tooth abscess. He/she needs to see a vet.

Hi i started with really bad tooth pain and went to the emergency dentist who said its infected and got an abscess. They give me amoxicillin 500mg i started them yesterday teatime then last night my face started to swell up on the right side where the bad tooth is never had this before. Now i look like an hamster what i want to know is how long will it take for the tablets to work i have taken 4 so far. Also most of the pain as gone but still really soar.

If there was a root canal done in the above tooth? In few cases root canals can fail due to branching and convolutions of the tooth roots. See your dentist at the earliest. Treatment will be specific based on the cause. Best luck and regards!

So sorry your going through that, i had an abscess(everything from eye to cheek was very swollen) and went to the er, i got a shot of clindamycin and a prescription, its cleared, and i had the root canal retreated, and so far, no complications, good luck! i know its scary 2 think you have 2 wait 3 weeks to have it worked on.

no one has commented to me yet BUT i have an update incase anyone in the future has this problem..... it WAS an abscessed tooth.. the worst they have ever seen they said. the pain began at the cheekbone & into the eye area for some reason then radiated down....dentist said the reason my teeth were loose was because the infection made them that way.... every hour or so u could notice a difference in me.....(for the worse!!

m no longer in pain (the cracked tooth is a little loose) but its been going on 3 days of antis and no change has occurred, is that normal? should I go back to the doctor? or is it normal for it to be taking a little while? I am on 3 doses of each a day which I believe is alot to not see any results almost 3 days in?

t see any pus sack on my gums or cheek but there is some white stuff that looks like it could be an abscess inbetween my tooth and gums. The dentist hasn't seen me since my cheek swelled up and won't beable to until the 10th. thanks, again.

I arrive at the office, get an x-ray, dentist looks at my tooth and says I have an abscess and it seemed to have been there for quite some time already. She proceeds do drain it, sends me home on antibiotics and ibuprofen, and tells me to come back on Friday to extract the tooth. My headache only got worse, and I felt pain from behind my nose and eye all the way back to the neck, all on the left side. It "stings" when I inhale deeply, so I imagined it's the sinus cavities.
