I recently about a month ago had a huge abcess on my neck lanced and drained they told me it was just a bacterial infection gave me antibiotics and stuffed it. I went back and have the stuffing removed kept it coverd and clean and it healed up now i have another small lump next to the spot where the other one was . i dont want to have to go back to the er since i have no ins. it is very costly any ideas any1?

I went to the dentist last sunday with an abscess tooth which is going to have to be a root canal started taking amoxicillin mon its now friday and still swollen no sign of abscess subsiding quite painful still planning to go to doctor or dentist tomorrow are there any symptoms i shoud be worried about and maybe go to emergency

I noticed my dogs face near her cheek is swollen and her neck on the same side is also swollen, its soft in her neck not hard. It wasnt a gradual growth i just notices it last night. Shes acting completly normal shell let me touch it. She does have bad teeth but my vet has never been able to check her mouth for as long as ive had her. I adopted her and she not very nice with other people (we have to muzzle her and sedate her prior to going to the vet).
Any ideas of what could be causing this?
Hi i started with really bad tooth pain and went to the emergency dentist who said its infected and got an abscess. They give me amoxicillin 500mg i started them yesterday teatime then last night my face started to swell up on the right side where the bad tooth is never had this before. Now i look like an hamster what i want to know is how long will it take for the tablets to work i have taken 4 so far. Also most of the pain as gone but still really soar.
My left side of my neck is stiff for a week now, no pain I can move it no problem it feels strange I don't know how to explain, plus i have palpation,what it can be , it is very annoying
please help me. I have had a tooth abscess for about 2 months. Tonight I feel like my throat/neck is swelling. Is this possible?

A lump that feels warm and is present on the side of the face (underneath where the earlobe attached to my face) could be a swollen lymph node or a chronically inflamed parotid gland or a parotid abscess (localized collection of pus) or an abscess not involving the parotid gland.
This may need to be drained, treated with antibiotics and you must consult a doctor immediately. Take care!
Lymph node was swollen on right groin near the abscess, constant pain in the back of the head in neck, maybe a gland there. But not really flu symptoms I would say, mild fever especially. Anyway i know the only answer will come when I get tested. But it is a little confusing when so many symptoms of an anal abscess are the same as seroconversion, also now that the abscess has cleared up and the night fevers continue, it is deeply worrying.
Hi I am a 28yr old female and over the course of last week I have been getting sharp pains in the right side of my neck. I've taken painkillers for this which the pain hasn't really responded to and since then I noticed by chance that I could feel a firm lump/swelling at the right side of my neck. Also the skin has been getting itchy there and I've been scratching it. Any ideas as to what this could be?

2 days ago, I had a dental abscess in the upper right side of my mouth, between the tooth and the gum, and it was slowly draining from a hole in my gum... So, I decided to try and squeeze some of the infection out myself and as I was in the process of doing so, the abscess busted and drained internally (into my cheek). My face started swelling immediately and in about 15 seconds, it had tripled in size!
My mom is experiencing odd symptoms. She has swollen glands in the neck and cheek and inner ear pain or the left side of her face. She also has pain on the left side of her face and the left side of her tongue running down her throat. When she touches it, it prickles, like there should be an open cut there. There are swollen bumps on the highest part of her cheek bone. Her glands, ear, tongue, and lip hurt the worst after eating or drinking. Any idea what could be causing this?
I've had an abscess or boil on my upper back between my spine and shoulder blade that doesn't seem to be coming to a head but instead drying up or being reabsorbed into the skin. It's about 1 - 2 cm in diameter, pink and a little soft (can feel some fluid inside) but not painful and not getting larger or smaller and I'm having what seems like muscular shooting pain up my neck and down my spine on that same side.
At the same time, I was experiencing a pressure/pulling sensation down my jaw, around my ear and down my neck. I was first given a round of antibiotics, and the pain, abscess and pressure/pulling sensation all went away. I then went in a few weeks later to have the cavities filled as there were 2 right next to each other that were very close to the root, but the dentist was able to just repair them with a filling and not a root canal.
Hi, its difficult to tell what the swelling is due to, considering the injury it could be a hematoma. It could also be an abscess. You will need to consult your doctor, who may ask for an X ray to ***** the spine, if needed he may even ask for a CT scan, please consult him for an evaluation. Regards.
My friends dog is a 9 year old cockapoo, and the other day I noticed she had a red bloody spot in her fur behind her head, on the backside of her neck. The lump is about the size of a walnut; hard and leaking small amounts of blood. My friends not sure if the dog scratched it to make it bleed, so she took a close look at the sore spot and gently squeezed it getting more blood and puss out of it. She then washed it with antiseptic wash and covered it.
We took him to the vet and as we were waiting, we noticed a hard swelling in the left side of the neck (~3,5 cm in diameter), that for sure wasn't there the day before. The vet confirmed that he had fever (39,7C). The vet suspected that it was a trauma and it developed an abscess. They gave him three shots (antibiotics and anti-inflammatory).
The next day the swelling seemed to be reduced a little, he ate and drunk water.
