First some back story: Cat had an abscess, took it to the vet. The abscess drained, went back to the vet, gave us some antibiotics. After abscess drained, the cat irritated it a bit, a flap of skin came off revealing tissue, and bone on the right of the jaw/mouth. We went back to the vet, said she couldn't bandage it since it's literally on the mouth, and therefore couldn't eat. Also can't stitch since there's no skin to stitch together.
A reddish more than 1 cm less than 1/2 inch blister,boil, abscess or whatever it is on my groin are just above my penis for more than 4 days. for first two day it was relatively smaller and then swollen with fluid like this today. what is it ??
Has anyone had this problem? Or does anyone have pictures of how a socket is supposed to look like when it is healing right, and what a dry socket looks like? Please help. I am having such a had time with this pain, being pregnant, and not being able to eat like I am supposed to. Its very difficult. HELP PLEASE!
We took him to the emergency vet, and they kept him a few days and took blood samples and were able to open his jaw to see if he had a tooth abscess and they took xrays also. He was given antibiotics and steroids. They said they couldn't find any cause or problem, and was very frustrating for us because not only was that visit and procedures over $1,000 the swelling is now returning. The swelling did go down while he was on steroids. He is eating and running about normally.
It looks like it has abscessed in the middle being white and crusty. If someone could please contact me I have pictures for examination. I am so worried about him but he will not go to the doctor. Only thing I could convince him was to put Neosporin on it.

There can be several causes for a localized swelling in the buttocks, such as epidermal inclusion cyst, infected lipoma, abscess, boil/furuncle or fibroma. It would be difficult to diagnose without an examination.
An abscess is a localized collection of pus walled off from the rest of the body. It contains pus, which consists of inflammatory cells and decayed tissues. Most abscesses causes local pain and tenderness.
Hi I have a small light brownish pimple or skin tag looking thing near my anus. I've looked at pictures of hemorrhoids and it isn't anywhere near that big, it is very very small and it doesn't hurt. But whenever I wipe after using the bathroom it always lightly bleeds and then burns for a few minutes afterwards. I don't know what it is. It Also doesn't itch. I attached a photo

Although some abscesses CAN be treated at home, I think by far the best thing to do is to take him to the vet as soon as possible. He may need antibiotics. If it is an abscess it will have to be drained fully before any healing takes place, and you do NOT want any infection to spread.
Just a question....why does he hardly ever go out?
Basically, I'm a teenager and teenagers don't like knowing how imperfect they are especially when it's something that is on your face, visible to anyone who looks hard enough. One of my eyelids is drooping more than the other. Now, my eyes are naturally droopy looking, not significantly, but more droopy than the average. It's normal. Now what's not normal, is that one of them is droopier than the other and I can't take pictures because it's so evident!
I wonder how the dentist could not discover the abscess earlier, bearing in mind that she worked on the same tooth and took x-ray pictures just a week ago? Can an abscess be activated by a dentists intervention somehow? I had never experienced any pain before, I always do my medical checks and things are taken care of timely, or at least I have tried to do my part to achieve this. I mean I have never suspected an infection.
MY CAT WAS OUT ALL NIGHT LAST NIGHT AND CAME HOME THIS MORNING. HE WAS FINE ALL DAY UNTIL MY DAD SAID HE HAD A CUT UNDER HIS CHIN OR SOMETHING. I LIFTED UP HIS CHIN AND THERE IS A CIRCULAR CUT..A WOUND AND THERE IS A THING INSIDE OF IT. IT'S A WHITE THING BUT IT'S NOT A BONE. I DON'T THINK IT'S PUS BECAUSE IT'S IN THE MIDDLE OF BEING HARD AND SOFT. IT'S LIKE A YELLOW WHITE AND IT SMELLS REALLY BAD. THIS CUT/WOUND IS SURROUNDED BUT A PATCH OF MISSING FUR.
m posting here is, I was looking in the mirror and saw what looks like a black spot (abscess?) behind my tonsils. I tryed to take a pic of it... hard to take a photo behind a tonsil in your own mouth with a normal cam.
I can upload them via tiny pic, I wasn't sure if the forum allowed links though... anyway. what could it be? sound normal?

The bump beside my anus - a perianal abscess started growing about 10 days later, burst as an abscess to the surface and has been bleeding since. I have had night sweats, some really soaking on and off for the, loss of appetite, fatigue and fever and non itchy pimples appearing scattered over my back.
As can be imagined I am very worried. Testing is the only way to solve this.
Although the antibiotics may kill the bacteria that is causing the abscess, if the core of the abscess does not come to the surface or is not removed by the doctor or the nurse, the abscess will continue to fester.
Apply a hot compress to draw the abscess to the surface. If there is no broken skin on the abscess, you can purchase magnesium sulphate from the pharmacy and apply this to the abscess. This is a drawing ointment and can only be used on unbroken skin.
While I was on interferon therapy and my resistance was low, I developed an abscess on my buttock that was drained and healed. For several months now I have had pain that feels deeper in the tissue, possibly in the ischeum. It has never come to a point and there is no drainage that I can detect. I cannot see any external signs of swelling or redness. Have not been feverish recently. Could this be an ischiorectal abscess or possibly pudental nerve pain?
My 9 month old cat recently had an abscess that burst on his side. I took him to the vet two days ago and he was put on amoxicillin. Today, right next to the burst abscess there is another abscess formed. There are not visible wounds so there is nowhere to drain from. He does not feel warm to touch on his nose or his ears. I don't no wot causes it but my I'm in pain. I was told to get bicarbonate soda mix into a paste spread it on covering the abscess an it will draw it. did tht it's still thr. so much pain this is my 2nd one I've had since being pregnant but I've had 2 at one time. hurts like he'll get shooting pains threw it too jesus I could scream with it ladies kills too touch it.
Hi i started with really bad tooth pain and went to the emergency dentist who said its infected and got an abscess. They give me amoxicillin 500mg i started them yesterday teatime then last night my face started to swell up on the right side where the bad tooth is never had this before. Now i look like an hamster what i want to know is how long will it take for the tablets to work i have taken 4 so far. Also most of the pain as gone but still really soar.

i have a condition i have sufferd axcillary abscess under both arms for 9 years i am now 24 weeks pregnant and have an abscess under my left arm will this harm the baby in the womb and how can they treat this and what can they give me for pain because this is the 2nd night i have been up all night with the pain many thanks
