I have taken a picture that shows an ulcer on the same zone where there is a broken reshaped tooth with a crown. The reshaped tooth is broken in half but somehow it stills maintain the crown with no mechanical problem (I broked the reshaped tooth 4 months ago). I am a 31 years old male and I am not a smoker nor a drinker (and neither a diabetic), and I am HIV negative.
I am worried I have a dental infection spreading from neglected dental work, that was complicated by a mis-diagnosis. Sorry for dragging this on, and on. Does a tooth abscess ever not show up on a X-ray?
I am worried I have a dental infection spreading from neglected dental work, that was complicated by a mis-diagnosis. Sorry for dragging this on, and on. Does a tooth abscess ever not show up on a X-ray? Possibly draining out before X-ray is taken? draining into roof of mouth or sinus?
About a month and a half to two months ago i developed an ear infection in first my right then left ears, after a while it came back to my right ear but i didnt go to the doc.
It's the same color as my palate and its hard but only painful if you push on it. What could this be? I'm trying to get over this stomach bacteria, and now this! I'm scared.
Sinus infections, streptococcal throat or any other bacterial condition can cause pain in palate. Ear infections, tooth abscess, mouth ulcers, canker sores, vitamin deficiency are few other possibilities. Pain will go away once the root cause of pain is detected. See a primary care physician. He may further refer you to the necessary specialist. Best wishes and regards!
I went to my regular dentist on 1/13/06 and xrays showed a large abscess in tooth #10, as well as a smaller abscess in tooth #20. On 1/17/06 I had a RCT done on tooth #10, as well as an incision in the roof of my mouth behind that tooth to help extract the infection. On 1/19/06, I had a RCT done on tooth #20, with one 0.05mm post placed. I have been on Antibiotics since 1/13/06, taking Penicillin VK 500mg QID, so I'm now on my Eighth day of antibiotics.
Hi, I noticed for awhile that I get this re-occurring small clear bump in my mouth near the back of my teeth on my soft palate. I feel it the most when I eat food. I am able to pop it, but two days later it will return. Does anyone know what it could be? Its very annoying especially when I eat certain types of food and its always on the left side of my mouth.
I get a gross taste when I yawn almost feels like pus draining throught my 2nd to last upper molar on the right side of my mouth. I have had all my teeth checked by a dentist and no abscess has been found, or anything else that would explain the drainage. I have been seeing a lot of doctors recently, none of which seem to help me out with anything. I get some dizziness, and pressure in the ears sometimes as well. I also have what feels like swelling on my hard palate.
I think I am getting pus drainage through those 2 teeth (large fillings), and I think the bumps on my hard palate have something do do with these teeth. It almost feels it swells up, and then drains throught tooth #3. I also think I grind my teeth at night. I ran acrossed some articles about fistula's. What are the symptoms of a fistula? How would a dentist diagnos a fistula? I feel no pain in these teeth, but I think they are having some kind of effect on my sinus's.
I went to my dentist on 1/13/06 and a large abscess with sinus tract stoma (dentist's terms) was found behind my front upper teeth. I was referred to an oral surgeon who on 1/17/06 drained the abscess, and then to an endodontist, who did a root canal on that tooth. He expected that the abscess would spread after the root canal, and was right, so on 1/19/06 I returned and it was once again drained.
Thursday I poked my hard palette exactly on the first palatine rugae behind my left front tooth with a chip. I felt the prick but thought nothing about it. Friday everything was fine no discomfort but come Saturday I woke up to intense pain my front tooth hurt a lot it affected my brushing my teeth and eating.
I read where you can develop them on the hard palate from trauma. I guess it's possible that's why the antibiotics never took it away.
for the last few months i've been suffering from recurrent pimples on my butt... they come only one at a time and usually after the previous one has almost completely resolved... they discharge pus and blood if they burst... and they scar... and while they're there they are extremely painful! sitting is torture! i never really paid much attention to them and i guess this began sometime at the end of last year...
I had seen lots of doctors and they couldn’t figure it out. This was a growth seemingly inside of the palatoglossal arch, above my right tonsil (NOT on my tonsil). It was completely covered by plain old soft palate tissue. It was very hard and mimicked the shape of the palatoglossal arch. A couple of weeks ago I went to see a specialist at the UW Hospital, there he told me that I likely had an abscess or cancer, and scheduled surgery. During my per-op screening today, a CT scan was taken.
when he was 2 the pulmonologist preformed a bronchoscopy on him and nothing was abnormal. The reason for this is due to the fact that he is exercise intolerable plus it sounds like he is wheezing, but they say it is not. yesterday when we vistied the new asthma doctor, he said asked if he snores I said well know he doesn't "snore" but he sounds as if he is having some sort of stridor and his o2 sats and heart rate are normal when this is happening.

I had tooth pain on the left side of my mouth, which within 2 days a large abscess grew on my upper left soft palate. The abscess has grown to almost the size of a walnut. I have endured this problem going on 4 weeks. One weekend I was in the ER with horrible pain. They gave me an antibiotic (clendomiasin? spelling) and pain medication. The antibiotic helps reduce the size of the abscess but does not completely get rid of it.
After poking around, he said #29 lower bicuspid failed the cold test and should have a root canal. As it turned out, I was given 3 root canals on the right side; #2 upper molar, #29 lower bicuspid and #30 lower molar. The pain and the throbbing has NEVER stopped and no one can tell me why. If the nerve is dead, why does the pain persist in all 3 teeth? I have been chewing whatever I can eat on the left side for a year now.
i didn't get a chance to get a good look at any of my x-rays but i saw where another poster on here was talking about holes in the jawbone from abscesses. since my abscess had gotten through to my cheek is there a chance it may have made a similar hole in my jaw? and if so will that hole heal itself now that i've been on the antibiotics and had the offending tooth fixed? also, and this may be to soon for me to be asking but i feel like the antibiotics have cleared up the infection.
It may not be from herpes, it could be a dental issue, a gum infection, abscess, anything. Try to go tomorrow and ease your mind. I do get herpes on my gums and palate. I also have had genital herpes for years. I don't even think about it anymore. Gone are the days where people say "I have herpes". You get herpes now and then, just like people get a cold sore on their lip. That's all it is, not the stigma it was 30, 40 years ago.
My primary symptom is frequent colds (approximately 12 times a year) that start with a sharp pain that I describe as being in the roof of my mouth, usually on the right side, but sometimes on the left. The pain is usually triggered by anything that involves moving of the soft pallate of my mouth. This includes swallowing and talking, which makes for some frustrating conversations and interferes with my job.
Doc put me on Bacyrim but the culture isn't back yet. In just the past year or so, I saw tiny red dots on my arms, a few on my chest and torso. My skin is thinning on my arms and I bruise and bleed easily. I have noticed a number of brown spots on my arms. Docs say they are age spots but I now have quite a few on my thighs. Now, my upper teeth are loose and I am looking at major dental work. I also started having night sweats about 2 years ago and I went through Menopause some years ago.
Dentist doesn't see any abscess, etc. I just read that sarcoidsosis can affect the TMJ joint. All my problems are on my right side - from the armpit to my head (sinus, eye, cheek, headache, etc etc) After my next visit to the uveitis specialist, (reviewing the tests) she will be referring me to a rheumatologist. Hopefully my problem has helped someone here. Make sure your rheumotogist or GP has all the test results from every doctor, dentist, etc that you have seen.
Wash off your hands with soap. The blood vessels on one side of the nose swell up with blood, on purpose, to close off that side of the nose to air. This gives the cilia in the closed nostril a chance to clean out all the pollution and mucus. When it’s clean, it opens up and the other side is closed to repeat the process. The things that swell up to close your nostrils are called turbinates. Keep this in mind when you are blowing your nose.
