abscess on nose

My 9 month old cat recently had an abscess that burst on his side. I took him to the vet two days ago and he was put on amoxicillin. Today, right next to the burst abscess there is another abscess formed. There are not visible wounds so there is nowhere to drain from. He does not feel warm to touch on his nose or his ears. The vet is closed for two days and there are no emergency clinics near me. Please offer advice on how to help my Oliver.

I've had a lump on the back of my thigh for about 6 weeks now. Recently it's been causing a lot of pain and it has gotten bigger. It went from a pink color to black now. There is no discharge and I can't recall ever being bit. I've not felt very ill but have had headaches since the pain started and my sense of smell seems off and I have blood in my nose. Any ideas? I have a doctor appointment in a few days but am wondering if it seems urgent enough to go sooner.

One month ago, I noticed a round bump which looked much like an external blister started to form on the right side of the nose piece that runs in between the nostrils. A dry patch of skin formed on the outside and the "blister" is soft and skin colored. One time (one time only), I pulled off the dry patch of skin, to find a small red dot underneath that started to bleed.

I'm very worried about my husband & need some direction. Some background; he went to a Periodontist about a month ago for treatment for gingivitis & had a tooth extraction (tooth 20 I believe), since that time he's had a couple of infections that were treated with antibiotics.

I woke up on monday morning in extreme pain and with a completely swollen top lip, stretched nose and puffy cheek. Having no idea what was wrong I went to the doctors and was put on amoxcillin (they weren't sure what was wrong as the abscess isn't visible, it is really high up under my lip and quite large).

Now, flu symptoms went away but my lymph nodes mostly on the left side are very swallen and painfull.Can somebody tell me what that could be.Thank you so much.

I once got a bad abscess infection from going to the dentist and I got lesions on my gums. My father also got an abscess after going to the same dentist. He was the smarter of the two of us and got his taken care of more quickly. If you do have an abscess, you really need to get it treated.

On the right side of my head I have been getting a swelling especially when I am close to having my period. I read in one of the comments that it might also be from a viral infection. I also have a bit of soar throat. Do you think I need to go see a doctor. I have had this happen to me for some years now?

It could be a dental problem like an abscess getting started. A sinus CT wouldn't necessarily pick up on the problem unless the abscess was so big it ruptured into a sinus cavity since they focus exclusively on the sinuses and not the mouth. If you haven't already gone that route, it's worth a trip to a dentist to at least rule it out.

My 8 year old cat, Kupid was diagnosed with a dental abscess about a week ago and put on clindamycin 1 ml twice a day. When she started she had a pink drainage coming from her right eye and right nostril. Her eye has gotten better and her nose has slightly improved. She is still sneezing and looks terrible but she is eating on her own. This cat has failed the pre anesthesia test twice after having complications during her spay surgery so we are reluctant to put her under to pull her tooth.

Around the same time, every time I stood up or bent down, I had an excruciating pain in the left front side of my head and at times the left top side of my nose simultaneously. Sometimes the shooting pain in my head alone happens when I am just sitting still. I went to the Dr's today and confirmed that the lump behind my ear was an abscess. She didn't think the pain was related, but didn't know what it was. I know she was busy, but the whole appt just felt rushed.

The gum above the tooth is also perfectly fine. I had an abscess tooth before (oddly the exact same tooth just on the opposite side) about 2 years ago. The constant pressure feeling is the same but the swelling looks slightly different. When tapping my abscessed tooth there was incredible pain but now when i tap this tooth the pain hardly changes. The gum tissue above my abscessed tooth was also very sensitive, dark pink, and began to develop a boil. There is no sign of that this time.

My face is so swollen its causing pressure in my eye ear and nose. Ive been on cephalexin for a bit more then 24 hrs now but the swelling and pain has not subsided at all. So my question is, when can i expect relief??? And is it because of me that my dentist couldn't remove the teeth? He said that he couldn't extract them because I was too nervous and basically he 'couldn't do his job'.

I get a gross taste when I yawn almost feels like pus draining throught my 2nd to last upper molar on the right side of my mouth. I have had all my teeth checked by a dentist and no abscess has been found, or anything else that would explain the drainage. The root canal was a week ago but the lump from the abscess is still on my gum. Is this normal? I was not put on antibiotics after the root canal but I took the last 2 amox. From the prescrip I had been given the week before.

My little Papillon/cross seems to have developed a swelling on her nose! From the top of her nose toward her eyes the nose is swollen about 1/2 inch. She is feeling a little out of sorts as well. Not behaving her normal energetic barking self at all. Judging by your description, it is most likely a fistula which is a tract that forms from the abscess of your infected tooth that escapes out to the gums. As long as the fistula in intact, your abscess can drain and slow down the spread of the abscess but if the fistula closes up, the abscess can spread rapidly through your face or neck area. I would recommend seeing a dentist and getting treatment started.

I have noticed when I kiss her nose or touch anywhere near her snout, she yelps in distress. I try to open her mouth to see if her gums are swollen, but all appears normal. Speifically the region around her nose seems to be very sensitive. Any idea or suggestion what may be wrong? Thank you!!

I am a 22 years old student. I experienced discomfort at the gum area under my nose 2 days ago, and wake up from gum sore this morning. It is obviously swollen and i saw redness on that gum area. I've also experience slight fever in this morning. Is it a serious problem? i've got a dental filling 2 days ago but not at the sore gum area.

If his front teeth hurt, he probably needs to see a dentist. An abscess can hurt like that and come on very fast. It's not going away, and it's only going to get worse. I really hope he gets to either a doctor or a dentist very soon.
