6 C is very lethargic. Seems to be trembling and will not even look at me when I walk in. A massive cyst has developed on his neck. It is draining but the color is brown and stinks link excrement.
Took him to the vet yesterday, they gave him a shot and antibiotic pills but this seems to be getting worse not better.
should I be doing something more? If so what?
My friends dog is a 9 year old cockapoo, and the other day I noticed she had a red bloody spot in her fur behind her head, on the backside of her neck. The lump is about the size of a walnut; hard and leaking small amounts of blood. My friends not sure if the dog scratched it to make it bleed, so she took a close look at the sore spot and gently squeezed it getting more blood and puss out of it. She then washed it with antiseptic wash and covered it.
I have a bum on my gum on the left side of my face behind the last tooth. Some people are saying it might be a caker sore or an abscess. The bump became bigger and I noticed a white substance inside of the bump. It grew bigger than with the help of hot water and salt it began to drain. First question what is this on my gum? How long does it take to heal? and Should I go to the dentist after it fully heals?
My 7 year old black lab has a lump on the back of his neck where he received an inoculation as a puppy. The lump developed within days and has never caused any problems. Well.... a few days ago I noticed it appeared to have bled. I thought I'd caught it with his Furminator so cleaned it up and it was 'fine'. Tonight I noticed his hair in that area looked clumped together and I can see where blood has come thru the hair follicle openings. I'm very concerned!
First some back story: Cat had an abscess, took it to the vet. The abscess drained, went back to the vet, gave us some antibiotics. After abscess drained, the cat irritated it a bit, a flap of skin came off revealing tissue, and bone on the right of the jaw/mouth. We went back to the vet, said she couldn't bandage it since it's literally on the mouth, and therefore couldn't eat. Also can't stitch since there's no skin to stitch together.
I recently about a month ago had a huge abcess on my neck lanced and drained they told me it was just a bacterial infection gave me antibiotics and stuffed it. I went back and have the stuffing removed kept it coverd and clean and it healed up now i have another small lump next to the spot where the other one was . i dont want to have to go back to the er since i have no ins. it is very costly any ideas any1?
Hi i started with really bad tooth pain and went to the emergency dentist who said its infected and got an abscess. They give me amoxicillin 500mg i started them yesterday teatime then last night my face started to swell up on the right side where the bad tooth is never had this before. Now i look like an hamster what i want to know is how long will it take for the tablets to work i have taken 4 so far. Also most of the pain as gone but still really soar.
my dog has a lump on the side of her neck...not in the middle--more under her cheek.
she is a boston terrier and is overweight and has a couple of soft fatty tumors on her body but this lump on her neck is new.
I just noticed it today and its abt the size of a golfball, soft and she doesn't cry when i squeeze it gently.
what could this be? It doesn't seem to have a head like an abscess would.
I get really bad charlie horse's when I'm sleeping and wake up crying from the pain, and I get them so much that my calf is so sore all the time. Does anyone else experience this?
Hi I am a 28yr old female and over the course of last week I have been getting sharp pains in the right side of my neck. I've taken painkillers for this which the pain hasn't really responded to and since then I noticed by chance that I could feel a firm lump/swelling at the right side of my neck. Also the skin has been getting itchy there and I've been scratching it. Any ideas as to what this could be?

s a constant throbbing pain in the lower left side of my mouth. The left side of my neck and face is puffy, and my glands on the same side are swollen and sore. And now, when I close my mouth, my teeth don't fit together. Also, my jaw is so stiff that I can't open my mouth more than about half an inch. I looked on webmd, and the symptoms seemed to be that of a dental abscess. Do you agree?
Is there anything I can do besides seeing a dentist?
I've had an abscess or boil on my upper back between my spine and shoulder blade that doesn't seem to be coming to a head but instead drying up or being reabsorbed into the skin. It's about 1 - 2 cm in diameter, pink and a little soft (can feel some fluid inside) but not painful and not getting larger or smaller and I'm having what seems like muscular shooting pain up my neck and down my spine on that same side.
I noticed my dogs face near her cheek is swollen and her neck on the same side is also swollen, its soft in her neck not hard. It wasnt a gradual growth i just notices it last night. Shes acting completly normal shell let me touch it. She does have bad teeth but my vet has never been able to check her mouth for as long as ive had her. I adopted her and she not very nice with other people (we have to muzzle her and sedate her prior to going to the vet).
Any ideas of what could be causing this?
I still have these symptoms and not knowing what causes them is a horrible feeling. I had a filling in my tooth 1 week before this all started and also got a abscess on this particular tooth last month and wonder if this may have anything to do with the symptoms. I would be very greatful if anybody could help.
Symptoms you should worry about include the swelling spreading to the places of your head/neck region. Depends on whether its the upper or lower jaw, it'll have a tendency to spread a direction.
Is the swelling worsening at all? Has it spread around the eye or down into the neck area? Any problems swallowing or breathing?
We took him to the vet and as we were waiting, we noticed a hard swelling in the left side of the neck (~3,5 cm in diameter), that for sure wasn't there the day before. The vet confirmed that he had fever (39,7C). The vet suspected that it was a trauma and it developed an abscess. They gave him three shots (antibiotics and anti-inflammatory).
The next day the swelling seemed to be reduced a little, he ate and drunk water.
2 days ago, I had a dental abscess in the upper right side of my mouth, between the tooth and the gum, and it was slowly draining from a hole in my gum... So, I decided to try and squeeze some of the infection out myself and as I was in the process of doing so, the abscess busted and drained internally (into my cheek). My face started swelling immediately and in about 15 seconds, it had tripled in size!
