Well now I have a painless lump on the outside gum right below that tooth. It seems to have appeared over night. I thought I felt food in there and noticed it. It feels like a blister but doesn't hurt at all. Is this something I can wait a few days and see if it goes away, I just discovered it. Is this likely an abscess from the infection since its by the same tooth?
Hello. The other day underneath my tongue on the bottom of my left gum line I felt pain when I pressed on this area with my tongue. A few days later, it is still painful but now a couple of white spots have developed. When I rub my tongue over the sores it almost tastes salty and as if my gum is punctured. What could this be? Am I in need of medical care?
I have a bum on my gum on the left side of my face behind the last tooth. Some people are saying it might be a caker sore or an abscess. The bump became bigger and I noticed a white substance inside of the bump. It grew bigger than with the help of hot water and salt it began to drain. First question what is this on my gum? Ok so about 3/4 weeks ago I was chewing food and felt a pain on my tooth/gum area and noticed a white patch/blotch. It was only that time that hurt because the food was rubbing right on the area. After that I forgot about it and went on about my business. Today I remembered and looked in my mouth and saw the same white patch/blotch still there. It doesn't hurt only when I slipped and scraped it with my finger nail. It is soft, and almost pliable like you can move it side to side.
I have been on clindamycin 150mg 2 every 8 hours for 4 days with a gum abscess. Its still hasnt come to a head yet, and very painful , I can feel a heart beat in it.Was wondering how long will it last. And is there any way to make it come to head. Had mini dental implants put in 3 years ago with 4 up top ,, and the gum abscess is right on top of it .
What happens to the gum abscess after the pus leaked out?
It's been a while since I've had a dental check up. I would say around 8 months now. I've used a mouth wash on it and it seems to have smoothen out a bit but its still there and looks white. I will go and have a dental check up as soon as I return home next week. What exactly is an abscess? is it somehting to worry about? One more question could this abscess have anything to do with my jaw feeling a bit week on the same side?
What about a gum abscess that is being treated with antibiotics? My boyfriend has a gum abscess and he has been prescribed penicillin and topical antibiotics. He says it is getting better, but for some reason his cheek on the other side of his mouth got swollen (maybe unrelated from biting it) and he says the area of the abscess is still a little irritated even after being on antibiotics today.
Hi there, I've had an tooth abscess for about a week and a half now. The dentist have given me some antibiotics to take, they took the pain away straight away and the swelling down. But the abscess is still on the gum and it's nearly the end of my course what do it do? I've read up on abscesses like mind and it turns out they can be deadly! Any advice for me would be great.

This persistent abscess that does not get cleared with antibiotics is called Parulis as this elevated nodule is actually an opening of fistulous tract from some chronic abscess either in association with tooth (periapical abscess) or gum abscess or could be sinus in your case.
As I can not do physical exam hence can not say for sure about the origin of the abscess. It needs x-ray and second opinion of a dentist who can examine.
Yesterday I had a 4-tooth bridge placed on the lower right side of my mouth. The back molar anchoring the bridge had a root canal several years ago and prior to having the bridge replaced this time around, I needed to have the crown lengthened. The preparation several weeks ago was quite painful and my gums were swollen and tender for a week, but felt fine by the time I had the permanent bridge placed yesterday.
I experienced discomfort at the gum area under my nose 2 days ago, and wake up from gum sore this morning. It is obviously swollen and i saw redness on that gum area. I've also experience slight fever in this morning. Is it a serious problem? i've got a dental filling 2 days ago but not at the sore gum area.
I still have an ulcer and quite a bit of pain on the gum under the crown. The novacaine injection hurt terribly, like never before. Could there have been some damage that I still have pain. The office told me to keep gargling with salt water. But after 10 days, the ulcer from what I think was trauma from the instruments is still here. Can this trauma cause an abscess?
Open one packet and make a Thick Paste by adding a few drops of warm water. Then apply the Paste to the area on your gum that is blowing up from the abcess. Let the Paste sit on your gum 10 min. or so and the abcess or (balloon) will eventually open and drain. Try not to swallow the pus and you can then rinse with another packet that you mix following the directions on the package. This will take the pressure off and provide a lot of relief. Your English is just fine. You need to go to the dentist!!!! Infections spread rapidly in the mouth!!! Do you mean an abscess or a tumor. Abscess if you don't know is usually an infection under the tooth in the roots. I know it can be expensive but you shouldn't be in this discomfort! They use different antibiotics for different infections. I do wonder why you didn't go back before this! Dental pain can be so bad.

I still have these symptoms and not knowing what causes them is a horrible feeling. I had a filling in my tooth 1 week before this all started and also got a abscess on this particular tooth last month and wonder if this may have anything to do with the symptoms. I would be very greatful if anybody could help.
