I NEED SOME INPUT FROM SOMEONE THAT KNOWS ABOUT CATS AND STUFF....
So I have this cat and he only goes outside for a few hours every night. So yesterday we noticed that he has a huge squishy lump on his head. Right on top. It looks exactly like a abscess before being drained. But here's the kicker...there's not sign of trauma on or around the lump. No bites/punctures wounds, no scratch marks..nothing. Just a lump with no signs of how it got there.
I have a bum on my gum on the left side of my face behind the last tooth. Some people are saying it might be a caker sore or an abscess. The bump became bigger and I noticed a white substance inside of the bump. It grew bigger than with the help of hot water and salt it began to drain. First question what is this on my gum? How long does it take to heal? and Should I go to the dentist after it fully heals?
My 9 month old cat recently had an abscess that burst on his side. I took him to the vet two days ago and he was put on amoxicillin. Today, right next to the burst abscess there is another abscess formed. There are not visible wounds so there is nowhere to drain from. He does not feel warm to touch on his nose or his ears. The vet is closed for two days and there are no emergency clinics near me. Please offer advice on how to help my Oliver.
The gum above the tooth is also perfectly fine. I had an abscess tooth before (oddly the exact same tooth just on the opposite side) about 2 years ago. The constant pressure feeling is the same but the swelling looks slightly different. When tapping my abscessed tooth there was incredible pain but now when i tap this tooth the pain hardly changes. The gum tissue above my abscessed tooth was also very sensitive, dark pink, and began to develop a boil. There is no sign of that this time.
2 days ago, I had a dental abscess in the upper right side of my mouth, between the tooth and the gum, and it was slowly draining from a hole in my gum... So, I decided to try and squeeze some of the infection out myself and as I was in the process of doing so, the abscess busted and drained internally (into my cheek). My face started swelling immediately and in about 15 seconds, it had tripled in size!
I'm very worried about my husband & need some direction. Some background; he went to a Periodontist about a month ago for treatment for gingivitis & had a tooth extraction (tooth 20 I believe), since that time he's had a couple of infections that were treated with antibiotics.
This looks to me to be outside the eye itself, rather than on the nictitating membrane, (on the eye-corner) where "Cherry Eye" occurs.
I might be wrong, but it's possible this is an abscess.Although some abscesses CAN be treated at home, I think by far the best thing to do is to take him to the vet as soon as possible. He may need antibiotics. If it is an abscess it will have to be drained fully before any healing takes place, and you do NOT want any infection to spread.
Judging by your description, it is most likely a fistula which is a tract that forms from the abscess of your infected tooth that escapes out to the gums. As long as the fistula in intact, your abscess can drain and slow down the spread of the abscess but if the fistula closes up, the abscess can spread rapidly through your face or neck area.
I would recommend seeing a dentist and getting treatment started.
I am 40 yrs old male .i had an abscess on my right hip i consult the doctor ,he suggest me an antibiotic twice for four days.after 3-4 days another abscess develop just 10mm above and again after 2-3 days 10mm another abscess develop but i am taking antibiotic regularly .what are the reason of repeating abscess & what is the permanent treatment to get rid of these.
i cannot cope with this feeling of medicaiton not working i can only just detect anti depressents at very high doses before all this i could easily feel medication what the hell is going on is this brain inflammatio nor something else stroke? . my right eye is slightly more red than the other one doctors dopnt know what this is . i just want to cry every day i cannot live with this any longer feels like pressure in front of my head please help someone.
I went to the dentist last sunday with an abscess tooth which is going to have to be a root canal started taking amoxicillin mon its now friday and still swollen no sign of abscess subsiding quite painful still planning to go to doctor or dentist tomorrow are there any symptoms i shoud be worried about and maybe go to emergency
Ive been having strange symptoms over the past couple years with are fatigue, body aches & pains not to severe though, sometimes dizziness, tip of the right side of tongue twitching, right eye twithing whenever I squeeze me eyes shut, sensitive to cold weather.

My face is so swollen its causing pressure in my eye ear and nose. Ive been on cephalexin for a bit more then 24 hrs now but the swelling and pain has not subsided at all. So my question is, when can i expect relief??? And is it because of me that my dentist couldn't remove the teeth? He said that he couldn't extract them because I was too nervous and basically he 'couldn't do his job'.
The ER doctor told me that I have a corneal abrasion and sent me home and told me to come back on Monday to see an eye doctor. On Monday, the doctor told me I have a corneal scratch and needed to come back again the next day. I got an antibiotic drop to prevent infection. I thought I was going to see the same doctor next day but saw a different doctor.(Same clinic) She told me that I have an abscess in the eye and infection. This shocked me because I didn't hear it from the last eye doctor.
I was looking for some information on eye floaters I experience. I had some stomach bleeding with anemia and transfusions about 6 months ago. Several weeks later, I started seeing floaters. They are mostly small, dark circles or look like uncolorful cobwebs. I usually only see floaters in bright light such as a sunny day or under office lighting.
After I started experiencing floaters, I saw my ophthalmologist, who dilated my eyes and examined me, but found nothing wrong.
So sorry your going through that, i had an abscess(everything from eye to cheek was very swollen) and went to the er, i got a shot of clindamycin and a prescription, its cleared, and i had the root canal retreated, and so far, no complications, good luck! i know its scary 2 think you have 2 wait 3 weeks to have it worked on.
She complained of not being able to read small letters just down of the center vision with the left eye, she can read but some letters dissapear on the line that is down of the one she is reading.
She went to the retinologist today and with dilated pupils he saw a white dot on the optic nerve of that eye and also it was less brilliant , he thought it could be an abscess or a cyst and ordered an OCT and another one where some tint is injected in the vein (I don't remember the name).
I also wanted to add that I don't see any pus sack on my gums or cheek but there is some white stuff that looks like it could be an abscess inbetween my tooth and gums. The dentist hasn't seen me since my cheek swelled up and won't beable to until the 10th. thanks, again.
a few hours ago i had an irritating feeling in my eye. like i poked my self with something sharp. when i got home i noticed this little red bump in the top lid outer corner of my right eye. i thought maybe i pulled an eyelash but it seems too low and i don't normally get a bump when i do pull one.
