Dear Guys, I developed abscess three times with in two weeks interval in my groin area.....the last two were big and required surgery with full ansthesia. My doc therefore suggested to escape the shot at least for one week so i did not take the shot last week. I continued to take it again but I developed another abscess on the preannal position. I am afraid it will force me to discontinue the therapy. Has any one exprienced such problem during therapy?
I was wondering if you know why you developed the abscess to start with? Have you had recent liver/gallbladder surgery, or hepatitis A,B, or C? You should be having Liver function tests being done to track your progress, and if you haven't, get tested for Hepatitis C. If your liver was simply inflamed from the infection, it should reduce in size eventually (since the infection is gone) unless you have an underlying problem like cirrhosis. I hope this answers your question a little...
Was told my gallbladder looks normal ( had ct scan with contrast injection) but was asked to come back for an ultrasound I did, which apparently showed enlarged bile ducts, Doc ordered a MRCT which apparently showed multiple liver cysts I am currently waiting for an appt. with a Gastroenterologist, which while frustrating for me seems to be not such a big deal to the docs. Any ideas on what may be going on for me? Can liver cysts be the cause of my symptoms?

- Sacralisation of L5 vertebra
- An altered marrow signals involving L5 and S1 vertebrae including left ala with an associated soft tissue representing granulation tissue / abscess in paracentral region (left > right) as well as an intra spinal anterior epidural soft tissue component compressing thecal sac and nerve roots of lumbo-sacral plexus s/o- An infective -inflammatory pathology like Koch's.
But higher-than-normal levels of these liver enzymes should not be automatically equated with liver disease. They may mean liver problems or they may not. For example, elevations of these enzymes can occur with muscle damage. The interpretation of elevated AST and ALT levels depends upon the entire medical evaluation of the patient. It is best done by doctors experienced in evaluating liver disease and muscle disease.
Were you diagnosed with hepatitis C?
The pain of this intensity coming spasmodically could be due to gall stones, infection in gall bladder, liver abscess or an abscess under the diaphragm. A CT scan of the upper abdomen should be done immediately. The other possibility is intestinal spam due to celiac disease or Crohn’s disease or due to IBS. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined.

This means that the scan picked up small areas of your liver that are different than the rest of the liver which puts up a "red flag" to the doctors. They know they are not simple cysts,therefore they must do further investigations to determine why these areas show up as denser than the surrounding tissue.
Blood tests and possible biopsy (removing a small piece of the dense area) would be ordered.
This doesn't sound like anything I'm familiar with....Sorry...My first thought was possible Mange, but the black substance has me worried....You shouldn't wait any longer...You need to ease her pain; She needs to see her Vet ASAP....Let us know what you find out...It might help others & I for one will be curious to hear what it is.....

A clinical correlation is very important for confirming the diagnosis.
