Avatar f tn On Aug. 31st my dog was diagnosed with Kidney Failure. Her creatinine was at a 8. As of almost 2 weeks ago it went down to a 2. I have been giving her 6 cc's of fluid subcutaneously. As also Aluminum Hydroxide Gel, USP 5 mL after she eats. Along with PancrePlus as she basically has chronic pancreatitis since 2011 and I can only feed her either boiled chicken & rice or science diet I/D or she starts to tremble in pain.
Avatar n tn I recently found a large breast lump which after a mammogram and ultrasound was determined to be a breast abscess. It was asprirated, I was treated with antibotics. I still have breast pain after 4 weeks. I had another ultrasound which indicates 2 cyst in the same area. The cysts are not perfectly round. Should I have a biopsy?
Avatar f tn I actually had a damaged uretha caused by an abscess burstingabove my left ovary which caused sepsis. I was extremely ill and ended up having a uretal stent for the past year and a total abdominal hysterectomy including ovaries in May of this year. Keep pestering the doctor!!
Avatar f tn Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions (if you had previous abdominal surgery, IBS, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle. Since you do not have a lump or a tender hot spot, in all probability it is not a muscle. It could also be a periumbilical hernia that has got trapped resulting in small bowel obstruction or mesenteric ischemia.
Avatar f tn Now I have passed stones before and have had an abscess in my side near kidney that almost killed me, O2 was 60%, potassium was null and void. In hospital for a month but came out of it. I was told and I have seen 10 kidney stones in right kidney and 12 in left kidney. Docs say they are calcified or as they put it (christy your kidneys are calcifying and lithotripsy won't work at this stage). I am 46 and have had these stones for 6 years.
231903 tn?1281482584 Hence there is a high chance of these. There could be an accompanying UTI. A kidney abscess too will cause similar symptoms but will present with a higher fever. The other possibility is that the ovarian cyst has got twisted. The third possibility of endometriosis can be considered if you have pain only around your periods. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do discuss this with your doctor (urologist) and get yourself examined. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Right upper abdominal pain can be due to cholecystitis (inflammation of gall bladder), stones in gall bladder, duodenal ulcer, abscess under the diaphragm, liver problems and abscess or due to duodenal ulcer. Right flank pain is generally due to kidney stones. Gall bladder problems have been ruled out in your case. Abscess should be seriously considered. Lower right abdomen pain is commonly due to appendicitis. The pain, can at times come and go and not give the classic picture.
Avatar f tn I was admitted to the hospital and after numerous tests they diagnosed me with lobar nephronia (intermediate stage between a bad kidney infection and developing an abscess). They were surprised as this is seen more commonly in children, I'm 26. They put a PICC line in so I could give myself Rosephin for 4-6 weeks and released me from the hospital. Unfortunately, my body was leaking everyday for a week at the PICC line insertion site.

Avatar n tn pyelonephritis, kidney stone or kidney abscess; spinal arthritis; disk disease and even muscle spasm. What tests were done? I would recommend that you drink plenty of fluids and have a regular follow-up with your doctor. Take care and keep us posted.
1511025 tn?1290133257 Pain and discomfort on the lower left side of abdomen just below and to the left of navel can be due to several causes such as Crohn’s disease, diverticulitis, infection in kidney, kidney stones, adhesions, polycystic ovary in females, IBS, constipation, and an abscess in rectus abdominis muscle or psoas muscle. Since you do not have a lump or a tender hot spot, in all probability it is not a muscle.
Avatar n tn m a breast cancer survivor and had a mastectomy over a decade ago. During the chemo for my cancer I had pneumonia and a brain abscess, but was treated and recent CAT scans reveal everything is okay. I have no history of diabetes, kidney or thyroid issues. All have been recently tested. I am single and am the primary caregiver for my mother who is 96 years old and requires a lot of care.
Avatar f tn I have been to doctors over and over, emergency rooms on several occasions, and have been told I must have an angry kidney. Can a kidney infection really cause this much prolonged pain? I have had them in the past and have never had it bulging out of my back, not during the infection and certainly not for weeks after. What else could it be? I am afraid they are just blaming my diabetes and the kidney infection and failing to look at any other possible causes. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn bladder neoplasm (abnormal growth), urinary tract inection, glomerulonephritis (inflamation in the glomerul part of the kidney), obstructive uropathy, pancreatits, papillary necrosis and cortical necrosis (have no idea what this is), perirenal abscess, polycystic kidney disease, pyelonephritis, renal infraction, renal neoplasm, renal trauma, and renal vein thrombosis. So you can see many thngs "could" cause the pain you're experiencing. Your dr.
Avatar n tn (I’m also borderline diabetic and anemic, have recurring kidney issues and am dealing with a kidney stone right now can, with absolutely no chance of pregnancy at all and no breastfeeding for a number of years

Avatar m tn Your definition of the crawling feeling isn't quite like what I suffered with for several months until they did a lot of tests (blood tests) and it showed my kidney was shutting down. I itched everywhere. Couldn't sleep. Thought I had bed bugs, left my lights on so they would go away, because they are nocturnal, but nothing worked.
923105 tn?1341827649 So after a major course of antibiotics and several scans later, my Urologist warned me that this could turn into Sepsis - and he wanted to admit me immediately (as the abscess is the size of a plum in my Kidney) - I said that I needed to see my own DR first, and what my own DR did was to double the amount of antibiotics that I am on.
Avatar f tn I noticed my tailbone hurting, so I thought that maybe I sat for too long. The next day I struggled to sit, the day after that I could barely walk. This is day four now. I did some research, and it all points to a cyst or abscess. I don't have medical coverage, I can't see a doctor. Please view the images on my profile? I'm very sorry for the graphic images. It's hard, swolen and red. I can barely touch it. Please somebody? This is by far the worst pain I've ever experienced.
Avatar f tn Hello, Since you have UTI, it can be due to infection of the kidneys. Kidney stones and recurrent UTI’s can lead to Pyelonephritis, Cystitis, Urethritis or Glomerulonephritis. Other causes which need to be ruled out are bowel obstruction, ectopic pregnancy, ovarian cysts and pelvic inflammatory disease, irritable bowel syndrome , kidney obstruction or pyelonephritis, psoas abscess and volvolus.
Avatar m tn You were right in suspecting appendicitis and kidney stones. Kidney stones can persist for years and cause symptoms only when they start moving. They can move, cause pain and again remain in a position for long periods of time. Similarly chronic appendicitis too can behave this way with bouts of pain, localization of infection and inflammation and a symptom free period.
