I am still feeling rubbish and my belly button in still very moist when i out my finger in and it does smell a bit. I have a gland up in my under arm now which is sore and also i have aches in my muscles and joints. (Not all the time). Any recommendations on what I should do as I still think this is linked to the abscess as it all started from when i first got it.
Last night I woke up to a terrible pain in my belly button. It feels as if someone is pinching my belly button and pulling it inwards. It is better now that Im not laying down but it still hurts when I move certain ways, bend over, or urinate.
Every once in a while, I'll itch my belly button and notice some pain. On closer inspection, I'll find a small clump of hair, covered in blood. I will then find a bloody sore in the very back. I was myself religiously and rinse out my belly button right before I leave the shower, so I don't think it's hygiene, i could be wrong though. When this occurs, my belly button and the small amount of hair I find inside smells absolutely terrible.
I have been having belly button pain for about a week now, it has never felt uncomfortable before...it hurts to touch the inside????
So, I was sitting in a chair at work, and all of a sudden I felt pain, right under my belly button. It hurt pretty bad, but nothing terrible. I am just getting over being sick with a respitory infection, so I have been coughing, and sneezing and blowing my nose. Its like an achy dull musley pain. It doesnt hurt too bad when I touch it, lay down, or stand. It hurts when I flex my muscles or when I bend down or something extreme.
Hi Jessica, I just read your post. I'll tell you if I had a belly button with green pus coming out of it and surgery was recommended, I would definitely agree to the surgery. The doctor that posted a reply to you makes a lot of good points. I hope everything goes well with your surgery.
The last couple of days I have been having pain at the bottom of the piercing, buts its only when i push my belly button in. Am I effected?
stinky belly button can result from an imbalance in body chemistry. try cleansing your belly button with a q-tip dipped in tea tree oil twice a day for a week... it's great for clearing up bacteria and fungus and will likely resolve it. good luck!
A month after my surgery, I developed an infection in my belly button with an abscess forming in the incision. That has since cleared up, but the pain is still there. I've also been consistently bloated, especially around my belly button, ever since the surgery- which NEVER has happened before. This is my third lap. Also since the surgery, I've had recurring issues with constipation, heart burn around an hour after I eat, and waves of nausea. Any idea what could be going on?
I went to the doctors yesterday because i was having pain around my belly button. The skin was red and inflamed and it hurt terribly to bend over/get up out of a sitting/laying position. He told me i had a belly button infection and put me on some antibiotics. Granted i just started taking them yesterday, nothing pain wise had really changed up until about 20 minutes ago.
If you are having a laparoscopic procedure, the recovery time is only a few weeks. There will be 3 small incisions at the belly button, the "bikini Line" and one in between. There may be a little discomfort for the first day or so and there will be bruising..Your Dx. is a little different than mine, but the end result is the same.. My stitches were removed in 1 week, and I went to the grocery store the same week..
It feels a bit like stabbing, but also kind of like all of the insides right behind my belly button are being crushed in someone's fist and then aggressively tugged on. Has anyone ever experienced this before, or does anyone have any idea of what this could possibly be?
But it always stays in that same location just above my belly button. I ended up crying in the bathroom for a bit because it was annoying me and scaring me. I also have a panic disorder, so I want keep thinking the worst and it could be making the pain worse and more frequent now that I know there is something wrong in that area. I don't keep track of my menstrual cycle, but to the best of my knowledge it seems a bit late, but also seems to be starting, so maybe that is playing a part in it?
hi im 20yo 5weeks ago i started to have this annoying belly button pain/right side and then progressed to severe burning upper abdomen/chest...it was so bad the burning i couldnt wash or sleep..hospital did ultrasound was normal...blood test showed high wbc which went back to normal...pain isnt severe but yet its there daily on my belly button area/right side abdomen ...i do sometimes get the burning again but not severe...what can be the cause?? can it be chronic appendicites? ulcers?
I am a 40 yr old woman who has noticed a horrible odor and discharge coming from my belly button. there is also well defined redness in the naval itself where the discharge is coming from. The discharge itself is milky and clear but the odor is breathtaking. I also seem to have a large rash with odor in the fold of my stomach at the pubic level (My belly hangs over from previous surgeries and twin pregnancy.) My urine is also cloudy and smelly. I have stomach pain around the naval.
The main symptom of appendicitis is belly pain. Many people feel the first pain near the belly button. Then it moves to the lower right side of the belly. But the pain can be in different parts of your belly or even on your side or back. The pain may get worse if you move, walk, or cough. You may also have a fever or feel sick to your stomach. Let us know how he makes out okay?
Right after picking it up, I could feel a sudden slight pain around the right of my belly button / in my lower-right quadrant. The pain got slightly better each day until today when I was bent down on one knee and then stood up, this time without any additional weight. I am not having any problems with appetite, bowel movements, fever, etc. There is no pain while coughing, though I haven't sneezed so I can't say if whether or not that causes pain.
( No other symptoms (no fever, does not burn when I urinate, etc, although it is hard to go b/c of the pain) I'm assuming I have another underlying much more serious problem. I was born with an ectopic ureter on my left side and kidney reflux but had that problem fixed when I was 10 months old. I am so desperate at this point!!!! All I can focus on is the pain, which does not get any better.
Hello, I am 19 years old, male. Yesterday I woke up with a slight pain in my lower abdomen that gradually got worse throughout the day. By night it was pretty bad, enough to wake me up in the night multiple times. I went to the doctor today described the symptoms which are; dull, achy pain, with some sharp pains. Doing things like walking, running, jumping, and taking steps down hurt. The area is painful to the touch, quite painful actually. The are looks slightly swollen.
The problem may be a prolapsed rectum. If abscess develops in anal area, it may result in fistula. If all your skin there is soft you may get a fissure after straining. If it is IBD - Inflammatory Bowel Disese - what includes Crohn's disease and Ulcerative colitis, then this has to be treated with antiinflammatory drugs and local procedures like abscess draining, hemprrhoids repair and such. But - colonoscopy first.
Two Months ago I had horrible pain in my belly button. I went to the walk-in center and was given a CT Scan. It returned negative. I was given pain medication and sent on my way. 4 days ago the pain came back, slowly at first. I saw my Dr. and was given a oral and iv contrast ct scan and blood work. All came back negative. I have been referred to a surgeon, but not until next week, I was given no pain medicine other than Motrin. (although it has helped the pain a bit).
I've just discovered a large lump protruding from just above my belly button. It doesn't hurt unless I touch it in which it is very sore to the touch. It's probably 2X2 inches. I have been taking antibiotics (penicillin) for about 2 weeks. Could this have anything to do with it? what else could it be?
Lately I've been having a sharp pain in my belly button and its been having a type of yellow/brown liquid come out for over a week now and I've tried everything to heal it but nothing works. I'm really worried about it because it looks like my belly button is turning into an outer I'm not sure if that's normal, and its really worrying me so if there's anyone out there that has the same thing happening to them & knows what this is, PLEASE let me know. Thank you so much.
The doctor arrived and peeled the foamy tape off my abdomen, which covered almost my whole left side of my tummy .. from just above my belly button down to my leg, from hip to midline and it felt as though my skin was coming with it. Please excuse my graphic description .. but the upper abscess had purulent drainage (pus) that rolled out of it and completely saturated a 4 x 4 piece of gauze. Now, just to be clear, I am able to handle a great deal of pain.
He said he suspects an abscess on my prostate. I am having pain in my lower back, above hips, above belly button, left testicle, and lower abdomen. I started out several weeks ago with pain on the tip of my penis, and in my urethra but those have disappeared. I asked him what could cause a abscess and his reply was lack of sex. Is this true or was he joking? Could this also possibly be prostate cancer? Any answers would be appreciated.....
Hello back in march I was hospitalized for 5 days with colitis and for about a month or longer Ive been getting pains everyday in my right side, around my belly button and in the middle of my stomach sometimes they do get intense and uncomfortable I haven't gone to hhe doctor and last night I ate meat and my stomach feels like its burning and I feel really nauseous and get bad headaches I'm not pregnant. What do u think it is?
Around the same time I started to be treated for a abscess which is in side my belly button (you cant see it as it is very deep in), I am on my third set of antibiotics metronidazole 400mg tablets. As well I am on Omeprazole 20mg for acid reflux which started at the same time. For the last month I have been getting a achy pain in my ankle, lower leg and also my forearms, not all at the same time. I find that I mainly get this in the evenings when I am on the sofa or sitting at my desk.
This discharge is drying and when removed there are hairs found as clouted in it. Past 2-3 years I found that there is some dirt accumulated in my belly button one or two times in a week with hairs in it with bad smell (no discharge but it was slight wet). I remove them when found thinking that because of the body sweat it happened (not reported to any doctor). Now about one month I found discharge from umbilicus (belly button) a red / yellow colour discharge with foul smell.
