Avatar f tn On Thursday I'm going to get the pus drainage with fine needle. Last time it was very painful even 2 times local anesthesia did not worked for me. Doctor said this happened due to inflammation. Anybody have any idea how to manage the pain. Should I take pain killers before getting it done and which one should I take? Also is it true that if we keep getting drainage done the pus will keep coming back so should we not get it done? Please share your experiences. Thanks all!!
Avatar n tn The hole is a drainage hole for the infected material (blood, pus) that collects in a sort of pocket. The water was cloudy most likely because there is at least one more drainage hole on the inside of your cat's mouth that the stuff has been leaking out of. These kind of abcesses are usually started by a minor, one time injury like a puncture or scratch. Since you are only seeing blood when you clean it, it has already drained.
Avatar n tn I get a gross taste when I yawn almost feels like pus draining throught my 2nd to last upper molar on the right side of my mouth. I have had all my teeth checked by a dentist and no abscess has been found, or anything else that would explain the drainage. I have been seeing a lot of doctors recently, none of which seem to help me out with anything. I get some dizziness, and pressure in the ears sometimes as well. I also have what feels like swelling on my hard palate.
Avatar n tn Yesterday my husband, aged 54yrs had drainage of an abscess? diagnosed following ct scan for a lump between anus and scotum which tripled in size over the previous week. Has been in pain since the May 08 followup colonoscopy which led to bleeding for 2 days, and then a month of ++ bleeding in September. Severe pain - on Tramal twice per day plus paracetamol 4 x day.
1670196 tn?1306841245 t an abscess it was a hematoma or a seroma (the drainage tube had not drained anything and had caused A LOT of pain). On 5/11 I was discharged saying that the hematoma was 50% smaller than it had been on 5/5 and would probably continue to drain vaginally like it had been and that it should take care of itself within the next month or so.
Avatar f tn I go onto antibiotics at the first sign of any abscess (for me a lump) and am usually on them for months at a time, until it is fully clear.
Avatar m tn After 4 weeks , one day it suddenly started leaking i mean the pus from the abscess and we got it drained and cleaned . He was given 4 more days of antibiotics on the day of drainage , moxclav and fusidin cream to apply in the area for 10 days and to keep the area clean. The place of the abscess is flat now and little redness around the whole from where it was drained . When i asked my child he said it is not paining .
Avatar f tn Please help anyone? 7 wks ago i got an abscess incision and drainage(jus next 2 anus) after being admitted to hospital it literally accured over a 3 day period with antibiotics having no effect, the insision was so small it made the packing of cavity the most painfull ordeal i have ever experienced..
Avatar m tn While I was on interferon therapy and my resistance was low, I developed an abscess on my buttock that was drained and healed. For several months now I have had pain that feels deeper in the tissue, possibly in the ischeum. It has never come to a point and there is no drainage that I can detect. I cannot see any external signs of swelling or redness. Have not been feverish recently. Could this be an ischiorectal abscess or possibly pudental nerve pain?
Avatar m tn I am very sanitary and do not know what would bring on an abscess other than this. Thank you very much for your time and concern!
Avatar f tn After a week in the hospital, I was sent home with a picc-line in my arm and a drainage tube for the abscess. I have been taking antibiotics vancomycin and Invanz daily through infusion. I have been home 10 days and the drainage is now cloudy light pink as opposed to the dark pink with clumps while I was in the hospital. I see improvement, but my question that can't seem to be answered is where did the infection and abscess come from?
Avatar f tn Since around that time I have not had any imaging done (ultrasounds). For those of you who are also taking a natural approach, how often do you get new ultrasounds done, maybe just to check up on your mass? And for those who are taking meds, how often have you got imaging done? For me, it's been about almost 5 months and I'm wondering if I should just check up on it.
Avatar f tn Next I went to a breast surgeon and she performed incision and drainage and another ten days of keflex. The abscess still would not heal so I had surgery a few days ago in which the surgeon removed the abscess and I thnk some of the infected ducts. My question is what is the likely hood that this will reoccur again, and im not sure if she removed all of my ducts or just the ones in the affected area.
Avatar m tn So about 3 weeks ago I had my perianal abscess drained and the healing process went quite well until about 1 week after the drainage small spots started to appear around my anus and near where the abscess was. My doctor prescribed me with a 1 week course of antibiotics which seemed to clear them up. However, more spots have started to appear but more itchy and painful and also when they burst the pain seems to ease. So are these spots anything to worry about?
Avatar n tn s because the infection is trapped beneath the tooth and there is no ready access for drainage, unless a hole is surgically placed to allow drainage. Sometimes the abscess is so severe that it creates it's own hole by bursting through the skin of the face to facilitate the bodies ability to remove the infection. Your vet is probably correct in wanting to extract the tooth.
Avatar f tn I think it will be an abscess soon..have you ever had that? I wonder how it will drain by itself....I mean on what part of the skin.... Thanks!
Avatar f tn m trying to get to the doctor every time I even suspect that an abscess is forming. Every time the doctors culture the fluid from my abscesses, it's been negative for infection (since I got over the staph infection, that is!). I clean my incisions/wounds nightly--wiping them down, then applying a big glob of bacitracin (sp?) to a Lansinoh breast pad and taping them with paper tape.
Avatar n tn Wondering if anyone can help me please, I've had an abscess above my tooth now for the past 2 days and I've been to the doctor today and he's put me on a course of antibiotics called ERYTHROPED A. I'm also taking Codeen to help ease the pain. The antibiotics don't seem to be doing anything at the moment, I began taking them around 6pm today when I got in from the doctor. I have two questions: Will my tooth have to be removed and how long does an Abscess usually last for?
Avatar f tn If there is an abscess, incision and drainage must be done and the specimen is sent to the pathologist for evaluation. Good luck.
Avatar f tn It does seem to take a long, long time. Unfortunately, what sometimes seems to happen is that where an abscess was, another may flourish, adding to the time and general outcome of the area healing. Also, it seems that scar tissue quite often develops as the new cells fill-in the indented area. The breast, as others have mentioned, will typically appear somewhat more flaccid and not as youthful looking as before GM.
Avatar n tn I would recommend seeing a dentist for it. It sounds like it might be a fistula (drainage) from an abscess. Especially if you're using warm salt water to draw material out. The good news is that since its draining, it won't swell up too much in your jaw so you're not in any immediate danger of a severe abscess but if it closes up, it may not have anywhere to escape and the pus will cause a swelling in the area, possibly going to the eye or down the neck.
Avatar f tn Hi I was diagnosed with GM a month ago after mammo, ultrasound, MRI and two separate core biopsies. The consultant at breast clinic said he was certain I had cancer as MRI showed 6cm mass, but core needle biopsy was benign. He did another, taking more than a dozen samples - this one showed mastitis inflammation and he diagnosed GM. This came out of nowhere in early March - woke up with tenderness and pain, no lump.
Avatar n tn Hello, This persistent abscess that does not get cleared with antibiotics is called Parulis as this elevated nodule is actually an opening of fistulous tract from some chronic abscess either in association with tooth (periapical abscess) or gum abscess or could be sinus in your case. As I can not do physical exam hence can not say for sure about the origin of the abscess. It needs x-ray and second opinion of a dentist who can examine.
