abilify

642393 tn?1227032656 Abilify has a lot of information on the web about side effects and a quick google may work well, always remember that side effects are not all going to happen to you or even likely - Abilify is well liked and fairly safe compared to some of the AP and AC drugs like Geodon and Risperdal.
1696867 tn?1312609591 They put her on Lithium and then added abilify a week later. The abilify gave her horrible side effects and I never want to see my daughter in that condition again! I detest the drug Abilify. It is a reckless drug in my opinion. I have been prescribed Lamictal now for 3 years. It is the right med for me. I am not on the floor with depression and do not gain weight. I wish some could challenge their docs.
Avatar n tn I recently started taking Abilify and am experiencing uncontrolled shaking and light-headedness. What are the side effects of Abilify and are these a couple of them. Should I try something else to help with my depression. THe Psych. said that this in concert with my prozac should help me out. Thanks for your help.
Avatar n tn Usually initial side effects wear off after two weeks.
Avatar f tn i was on abilify for a short time but i took it with another medication as well. My side effects were mainly just super groggy and it actually made me more depressed. I know for me they were better alone as a downer. If i was having anxiety issues they would help me calm down quick. I no longer take them because they just make me spaced out and groggy.
603543 tn?1255294450 I also got very dizzy and sick on rides at six flags, that has never happened to me before.......I am also on effexor xr 37.5 mg, cannot go any higher due to being sensitive to side effects. Shold I just go back to just the effexor and work things out thru thereapy....I just want to feel better....
1255530 tn?1269867619 Yes these would be side effects of concern. Abilify and the related SDA antipsychotics can at times cause heart irregularities. Having trouble breathing (potentially) and having stiffness in your neck or back could be due to temporary movement disorders (if dystonia is left untreated a person could have trouble breathing, for that reason its best to have a side effect pill with you at all times, check that with your doctor).
4762310 tn?1362165935 Sometimes that can happen just watch yourself and notify your MD that you having that kind of reaction. How much did it get upped? Check the side effects for that script that could be a side effect. What is it your taking?
540310 tn?1343624120 t be surprised if you need to try different ones. If not than great!!!! Side effects are generally to be expected. Usually they do seem to get better over time though. Initially you might feel sluggish and tired but sometimes you have to weigh the benefits of feeling better to the side effects. Anyway, good luck and remember it's a learning process!
Avatar n tn I tried to stop taking zoloft and abilify about three months ago. I tapered off the zoloft and stopped the abilify cold turkey, per doctor's advice. I had mild side effects for the first month and then totally crashed. Needless to say, I called my doctor in desperation and was represcribed both medications. I feel much better, but am still very serious about stopping the medications sooner than later.
Avatar f tn Deplin seems to be an anti-depressant booster, and Abilify could cause the twitching. It does take a while for it to get out of the system. If after a month off the drugs, and the twitching is still there, you migh want to consult with a psychiatrist.
Avatar f tn My doctor wants me to start on Abilify but I declined after I read the side effects. Has anyone had any uncontrolled movements, weight gain, tardive dyskinesia, etc. with this medication. If so, please let me know. I really need a medication to replace the ones I went off of but my doctor is giving me no other choices. I'm absolutely scared to death about the side effects of this medication. Any and all responses will be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn Anxiety, headaches, and insomnia are among the common side effects reported with Abilify. Side effects that are not as common include hemorrhoids, gas, and ACNE. Certain side effects are more serious and should be reported to your healthcare provider. These can include feelings of restlessness or jitteriness, high blood pressure, or abnormal muscle movements.
Avatar n tn Not a good idea at all with all of those medications almost anything could happen, including blackouts, fainting, etc.
Avatar m tn I was on abilify along with effexor for about 6 months. I didnt have any side effects from it but it didnt do any good for me either so I got off it. It was really expensive too! Even with my insurance it still cost $90! If its working for you thats great! And you really arent supposed to drink while on anti depressants! It can make depression worse and alter the effect of the anti depressant. EVeryone reacts differently but I choose not to drink while on them! Best of luck to you!!!!
571167 tn?1223214465 I do not believe the medications the medical community has place him on are worth the side-effects. They placed him on Levetiracetam, Benztropine, and Abilify, and the side-effects are NOT worth the potential benefit of what--self-control? I have worked with youth in placement for 18 years, and these medications do not make any significant difference in their judgments because they do not change their value system.
711158 tn?1229544700 Everyone tells me it can take a few months to figure out the correct dosage, my worry is that if 50mcg is not enough and I take more, is that going to cause an increase in these side effects? According to WebMd if thyroid meds are the correct dosage there are no side effects.
Avatar n tn Those are very unusual side effects for Abilify but medications can interact and lithium is a good medication but it can have interactions with other medications although those two medications can be and are often safely given together. Speak to the psychiatrist more about this. They can't do a blood test for Abilify for blood levels but they can with lithium. Trileptal unlike Tegretol or lithium does not generally require a blood test.
1564087 tn?1308947518 I've been on effexor xr for years, and recently added abilify. I've been diagnosed with major depression and generalized anxiety, but I think I have bipolar II due to episodes of hypomania. Anyway, I haven't been on abilify very long (a month or so), but I have not noticed any side effects. Possibly excitability, but I am not sure. I switched my dose from the prescribed qhs to qam.
Avatar m tn I am on 90 mg of Cymbalta and just started 15 mg of Abilify for depression. My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. Have you experienced any side effects? When you're depressed and trying to get your medications right it just isn't fun. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
1565420 tn?1304572548 Hair loss is not listed as a side effect of Abilify. I would address this right away with an Endocrinologist, as it may be related to your thyroid which can also cause anxiety and depression. Hair coming out in small clumps is a symptom of an underlying condition and blood work can determine what this is. Don't stop the Abilify, but make the prescribing doctor aware of what you're experiencing........
