They put her on Lithium and then added abilify a week later. The abilify gave her horrible side effects and I never want to see my daughter in that condition again! I detest the drug Abilify. It is a reckless drug in my opinion. I have been prescribed Lamictal now for 3 years. It is the right med for me. I am not on the floor with depression and do not gain weight. I wish some could challenge their docs.

I recently started taking Abilify and am experiencing uncontrolled shaking and light-headedness. What are the side effects of Abilify and are these a couple of them. Should I try something else to help with my depression. THe Psych. said that this in concert with my prozac should help me out. Thanks for your help.

Deplin seems to be an anti-depressant booster, and Abilify could cause the twitching. It does take a while for it to get out of the system. If after a month off the drugs, and the twitching is still there, you migh want to consult with a psychiatrist.

I am currently on Geodone because that was the one with the most tolerable side effects. I get bad agitation, shake to the point I had one person assume I had Parkinson's disease, and have lost a considerable amount of weight to the point I am down to a size four when I should be closer to a size six. Needless to say I really want to get off the Geodone. I also have Chronic Kidney Disease so taking more meds would be a bad idea. I am wondering about Abilify instead of Geodone.

I was on abilify along with effexor for about 6 months. I didnt have any side effects from it but it didnt do any good for me either so I got off it. It was really expensive too! Even with my insurance it still cost $90! If its working for you thats great! And you really arent supposed to drink while on anti depressants! Those are very unusual side effects for Abilify but medications can interact and lithium is a good medication but it can have interactions with other medications although those two medications can be and are often safely given together. Speak to the psychiatrist more about this. They can't do a blood test for Abilify for blood levels but they can with lithium. Trileptal unlike Tegretol or lithium does not generally require a blood test.

I've been on effexor xr for years, and recently added abilify. I've been diagnosed with major depression and generalized anxiety, but I think I have bipolar II due to episodes of hypomania.
