abilify risks

I am on zoloft which does not help with my anxiety, does adding abilify help with the anxiety and the depression?

I started taking Abilify three years ago. When I began taking it I weighed 115 lbs at five foot two inches. Now I weigh 180 pounds! I finally decided to stop taking Abilify because the benefits did not outweigh the horrible health risks of being obese.

is anyone on saphris? my pdoc changed me from seroquel and abilify to this new med, which i start tonight. the other 2 was causing my blood sugar and pressure to start going up. i felt fine taking this combo but don't want to take 2 more meds for blood sugar and blood pressure.

re wise to have concerns about adding the Abilify, and who knows, you may do just fine on it, with no issues whatsoever, but there ARE risks to consider, especially with the multiple meds you're on. Hopefully I didn't confuse you more, lol. I'm just trying to give you my opinion, while I think medications really are a Godsend for a lot of people, I think sometimes people are put on too much, which ends up making them worse instead of better in the long run.

6 weeks along. My doctor took me off two of my antidepressants, leaving me on the class B welbutrin. My mood and mental health have been in sharp decline. I don't want to hurt my baby, but does anyone know what the risks are for Prozac and/or abilify? I'm struggling to get through the day and can't work at all like this. I'm scared and sad, and my poor husband is doing his best, but it's just not enough. I need help.

Sometimes, with medications, we have to weigh the benefits of you taking the medication against the risks that it may cause for your baby. Sometimes the benefits outweigh the risks and sometimes the risks outweigh the benefits. Only you, your ob/gyn and your psychiatrist can decide this. I think that you should sit down with your doctors and go through the medication list and decide together what is appropriate for you.

Hi everyone, I saw my psychiatrist yesterday, my 3rd session with him, and he has now told me I have Bipolar I. It wasn't a shock, I was expecting it, and I am actually not too bummed about it because at least now I know what is wrong with me. He told me I meet all the signs & criteria for this & because I have had several severe manic episodes which have severely affected my life at times.

There is no reason you can't take Abilify with Zoloft. I take Abilify with several other medications. It started working within 2 weeks and my depression decreased dramatically. One common side effect of Abilify is akathisia, a restless need to move. I have that but added propranolol and it stopped it completely with no other side effects.

Lightheadedness and uncontrollable shaking are side effects of Abilify. Some other ones are weight gain, nausea and dizziness. Prozac interacts with Abilify and may increase the concentration of Abilify in your body. That may be the reason why you are experiencing the side effects. If you just started on Abilify then you should go talk to your doctor and let him know that you cannot tolerate the side effects and be put on something else.

I have been on Cymbalta (30mg 2 X day) for a few weeks (about six) and my doctor gave me some Abilify samples (2mg) to try along with the Cymbalta. I tried Abilify with my antidepressant. After a few months on Abilify, my anxiety was actually worse. I noticed that the Abilify caused me to be agitated and restless (like I couldn't get confortable or sit still, kind of jittery) Abilify is really ment more to aid in the treatment of depression than it is anxiety. It's designed to be used as an antidepressant add on drug to give a bit more antidepressant punch rather than an anti-anxiety punch. Bad idea I think.

I'm currently on Abilify and I'm kind of freaking out about the movement disorder risk. I'm thinking about trying a MS instead. Is it more common to start with a MS first, or are AAP's in common usage as a first line treatment?

Have you had these symptoms checked out by your GP? Abilify does cause shaking and tremors, and just because your psychiatrist hasn't seen these side effects doesn't mean they aren't being caused by the Abilify. I doubt the Abilify is doing much to help you, it's rare to get this many years out of one medication as our bodies build up a tolerance to these types of medications.

Yes, I meant Latuda. She is on 60mg for ODD. She has also been on Abilify. Her main problem has always been her ODD but recently since starting junior high she has had a hard time with her ADHD. She can't focus and organize herself. She doesn't want to do homework because she says she can't concentrate. I just don't think the Latuda is helping much. And I need a recommendation for a good ADHD medicine. What do you recommend for helping with ODD and mood disorders?

I have been on Abilify for 2 months or so, give or take. I am not schizophrenic, Bi-Polar, or Autistic. I just suffer from Panic Attacks. My Doctor prescribed me Abilify as an enhancer for my Paxil/Xanax cocktail. Long story short, I was taking 2mg of abilify once a day. Recently My Insurance decided they were going to be the Doctor and my funding for the Abilify ran out. I am not going to pay $543.00 for meds can't afford it and think that price is ludicrous.

I would like to leave a comment. I started gaining kilogrammes on abilify so my psychiatrist told me its not from the abilify. I also have heart beat and shaking everywhere my body. Also my hair start to drop. And also I cant concentrate- the problem is I have memory loss. I did some blood test and my thyroid antibodies are not working properly, the other blood tests are not ready yet. Is it possible abilify cause thyroid problems or the drug is causing it not to work properly?

Just told me to exercise, and eat better. Gave me Abilify instead of that Seroquel and told me to come back in two weeks.

I am on Abilify 20mg and I have absolutely no energy. I am in bed for 3 and 4 days at a time. I am getting really discouraged. I dont think Abilify works for depression alone. I ran out of my effexor xr (antidepressant) and only took my abilify and was a real mess for a week.. It was as if i werent taking anything. The abilify doesnt work alone in my case. Its only a booster pill, so to speak. I was tearful and restless without my antidepressant. However that could have been withdrawal or something.

I mix seroquel and abilify without issued only the Abilify has finally gotten my appetite under control and im losing weight Seroquel causes weight gain but nothing like the weight gain with Zyprexa.

I need to know if abilify decreases methadone? Has anyone been on these two meds at the same time? Can you tell me how it made you feel? I was prescribed abilify but haven't started it yet because I am unsure of the interaction. Some say it causes withdrawal for the methadone and some say it increases methadone, talk about confusing!! my 10yr old son has been on a regimen of 1300mg lithium and 5mg abilify since age 7 due to aggresive behavior towards family and self mutalation.Was hospitalized at Walker Art,Needham Mass to get satabilized..meds worked for the better part.He was recently taken off abilify 5 wks ago-the past 3plus wks he has returned to his behavior not seen since age of 7.Drs wanted to try him on triliptal which been on over wk now,nothing has improved more so worsened.
