abilify ocd

I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come

My son takes 7.5 mg abilify in morning since Jan.'13 . Some days, he will feel so sleepy whatever he does, other days he will be fine. Can this random sleepiness be attributed to abilify? Thanks.

I have recently been put on librium and propanolol for anxiety, thats all good. What I Am really.worried about is the 10mg of abilify they put.me on to help other anti depressant work. They also put me on luvox for OCD. i have heard good and bad things about these combos with adderall. I dont want them to counteract the drug. So any thoughts would be great. Thanks.

I'm currently prescribed on 100 mg of luvox and 10 mg of abilify. However, I've been mistreated by nearly everyone I met in the past 4 years in high school. Teachers, students, everyone. It can't be them, I'm thinking. It has to be me. As punishment, I want to make my OCD worse until I can barely control it. If I stop taking Luvox and Abilify, will I suffer some sort of neurological damage? Or will the only effect be that my OCD will become worse?

hello! i have OCD about pregnancy and recently my doctor has put me on zoloft and respiridone. after a week or so, i started lactating so she decided to change my respiridone to abilify... i was just wondering whether zoloft of abilify causes breast enlargement because they are so much bigger and i guess they are making me more and more anxious. I have been several antidepressants for anxiety/depression/ocd. I feel good for a few weeks and then they seem to poop out until the next increase. I am currently on Prozac/Abilify. I am on 80mg of Prozac and was on 2 mg of the Abilify. I was doing well for a few week and then it seemed to poop out on me again. So the Dr. upped my Abilify to 5 mg. I have been at that dose for week and I am feeling ton of anxiety, worse than before.

I just turned 18 in these days, and when I was 16 I started to have OCD about the obsessive fear of being crazy/insane/delusional!! Since then I reached for help and besides doing a little of cognitive therapy, I was put on oral Abilify.

I was diagnosed with ADHD ...my doctor still thinks I have anxiety and OCD .. anyways I recently went to go see a movie where someone was drugged then I started thinking about it...my mind was racing. I kept thinking of different times it could of happened and I wouldnt know.. I am not sleeping because of this.. my heart races and Im becoming physically sick now. Im currently taking zoloft/abilify and adderall.. I dont know if I should generally be worried about this or its just my anxiety.

Hey all. So my doctor let me go back on Paxil because nothing else seems to work the same way. He has also prescribed Abilify for my horrible anxiety and OCD. Apparently, it's a medication for bipolar disorder or schizophrenia but he seems to think at the low dosage he prescribed (2 mg.) that it will help to "calm my brain down" and my OCD thoughts. The paxil is for my anxiety and I have Klonopin for my "freak out" times which are quite often lately.

i have major problems dealing with relationships and my kids. its like everything is a major problem even when i guess its not. i just can't cope. my mom says kick everybody out. but that really won't solve it all. i have major depression, bpd, generalized anxiety, and ocd. gonna start therapy soon. things gotta get better my bp is staying high.any advice is gladly welcome.

my dr added abilify to my long list of meds for ocd and anxiety, and now i'm freaked out cuz i'm not having panic attacks when i have obssesive scary thoughts. it's like i'm scared that i'm not scared. anyone ever expirienced this? any advice?

Hello everyone, so Im new to this. I have been diagnosed with panic disorder, ocd, and as you guys with ocd know depression coincides. I am on 20 mg lexapro, 5 mg kolonopin, and 2.5 mg of abilify. I am struggling bad lately. my depression is starting up again, not severe enough to be hospitalized but is starting up. Im believing that everyone around me thinks im crazy i dont know why. I got in a fight with my sister yesterday and I started crying because I also got into a fight with my mom.

Actually the person I know who has ocd and bipolar with psychotic features now takes Abilify and Lamictal and it keeps the symptoms relatively in check. We just all had the concern of 3 antipsychotics being prescribed to you at once which clearly is not a good thing but you had said you were getting that updated to one antipsychotic which was Seroquel which at a working dose would be effective for psychosis and mood stabilization.

What is the purpose for it ? I had some ocd symptoms. But after taking the medicines, I feel sleepy, fatigue, lack of energy and memory problems too.

To tell you the truth I became happy because I know tegretol needs blood tests, etc…while abilify has a few side effects except some anxiety. I only became suspicious about its potency as a mood stabilizer. Otherwise why do pdocs recommend always one of the triads (lithium, depakote, tegretol) or lamictal lately.

I've been feeling really bummed out ... I recently added Abilify to my list of many medications and it has made a wonderful difference, but you know, nothing is perfect. Has anyone tried Abilify in combination with anything else and had success? Or not? What cheers you up when you're really, really down? When I'm down, I'm down. There's no getting me up - I just lay in bed feeling blah, which is of course, natural. But still, things used to cheer me up.

hello I'm kind of in a panicky mode right now because i have OCD about pregnancy but i never had sex before, i've never even kissed a guy (I'm 15)!!! butttt theres been something that made me panic today, after i peed i was washing my hands and then a surge of white discharge came. not just a little! but a whole lot it could fill a panty liner!!! tomorrow is suppose to be my period but I'm super scared i don't know what to do!!

I have been on Cymbalta (30mg 2 X day) for a few weeks (about six) and my doctor gave me some Abilify samples (2mg) to try along with the Cymbalta. I have not been having irrational or psychotic thoughts, but I have been tired a lot. The hope is that the Abilify will give me some energy without side effects. I'm 57 year old male and have been on pain meds for five years due to disc issues, stenosis, severe arthritis, and fibromyalgia.

I had the same situation with Anafranil as it treated symptoms of ocd but as it is (like Wellbutrin which is also an anti-depressent) it worsened the manic (and psychotic) aspects of schizoaffective disorder I have. Abilify will treat psychosis but is not specifically for ocd and many medications for ocd are anti-depressents as well and could worsen mania in a person with bipolar.

Hi, My 13yr old son has mod-severe ADHD + OCD + Tourettes. In 2006 he showed a normal EKG. He has been taking Concerta ( 126 mg ), Abilify ( 6mg ), Prozac ( 40mg), Intuniv ( 4mg ), & clonidine at bedtime (.15mg). Since the last EKG he has tried diff SSRI's & SNRI's with some pos results. He is coming off the Abilify to try Haldol. His tics are very bad & last from 3pm after school until bedtime. We tried Risperdal yrs ago, but he wet the bed.

I'm on week 3 of Pristiq after Cymbalta pooped out on me after 5 successful yrs on it. First tried to switch me to Zoloft and that made me worse (February 2014). Until 3 weeks ago, they tried to add things to the Cymbakta (Abilify, buspar) but it wasn't working (for deoression/anxiety). 3 weeks ago to Pristiq 50mg.

We met with a child psychiatrist and gave us the diagnosis but also said she had OCD and prescribed Prozac for her(about 1/4 tsp every day). I am concerned about putting her on meds but also feel horrible for her and her tantrums have been unbearable (stemming from the obsessions) for our entire family. Is meds for this along with therapies for the other autism issues the right thing or should i think twice about putting her on meds?

I got out of the hospital almost 3 weeks ago with 3 NEW diagnoses in addition to Bipolar I, they are: psychosis, OCD & anxiety. I looked up OCD & anxiety & have none of the symptoms! I was psychotic because of a combination of medications that didn't mix well. I tried to find a 2nd opinion but no one will see me for one. I requested my medical records but don't have them yet.

Probably I should have given it more time. Oh, and he had me on 2mg of Abilify too (maybe until the Lamictal had time to kick in.) I went back to my old doc instead Dr. A (who knew me for years) and he says that other doctor is wrong that I do not have a mood disorder, that I have depression and anxiety and wondered why he gave me Abilify, an anitpsychotic. So, I went back on Celexa and it's not working like it was before. It seemed to be the only med that worked for me the best.
