I took abilify and began to have muscle spasms in my jaw. It felt as if all my teeth were having an extremely bad toothache. All the muscles are constantly in spasm and it has leaded to unbearable "temple" headaches. This has been going on for almost 6 years now and the pain is 24/7. I started out at the dentist because I thought it might be due to grinding or an abscess. Then to the neurologist that has given me so many meds to try with no avail.

I was perfectly healthy until this past summer when I began to have stomach pains and regurgitating after meals. The pain in my stomach eventually got to the point where I decided to take the semester off from college to figure things out. This January I was diagnosed with Gastroparesis. In the Fall, the stomach pain effected my sleep and I got overtired. This led to me getting scared and confused about irrational things. I was taken to a hospital and put on a psychotropic drug called Abilify.

I have been on Cymbalta (30mg 2 X day) for a few weeks (about six) and my doctor gave me some Abilify samples (2mg) to try along with the Cymbalta. I have not been having irrational or psychotic thoughts, but I have been tired a lot. The hope is that the Abilify will give me some energy without side effects. I'm 57 year old male and have been on pain meds for five years due to disc issues, stenosis, severe arthritis, and fibromyalgia.

When I was on the 2mg dose, things seemed to be ok. When I went up to 5mg, I had tremendous leg pain and muscle stiffness. When I went down to 2mg again the leg problems went away. Then my doctor decided to switch me to Seroquel. I gradually increased my dosage up to 100 mg. At that point, my leg troubles began again. Unfortunately, they never ended. I got off the Seroquel and the leg pain persisted. It's bad in the morning. My right hamstring is always stiff.

Interesting, I take tegretol for trigeminal neuralgia (TN). I normally take two XL tablets a day and it controls the shocking pain very well. In the spring of 08 I became depressed and started on Prozac which worked well for 4-5 months. I started to get a jaw type jerk/spasm after several months along with an increase in activity of my TN both on the left side of my face. My doc switched me to Celxa which didn't work well so they added Welbutrin with it.

I've been taking Abilify for about 3 years now, and it's the only med I'm on now, and it seems to be working fine. I used to be on Depakote, but I gained about 50 lbs, so my doctor took me off of it and upped my Abilify. I take 30 mg a day. I'm scared after a few years I'll develop the twitching and muscle stifftness ( tardive dyskensia ) but I've resolved not to live in fear of it. Abilify has worked for me now, so I recommend it.

Monday, 6/7, I began experiencing lack of coordination - bumping into furniture, walls, door facings, and tripping over things; also dropping things sometimes, but not as much as bumping into things. The fronts of my legs are covered with bruises. It is still occurring, though doesn't seem as severe. I had begun taking Abilify 5 mg po daily on 6/3, so I'd had only 4 doses when this began. Yesterday, I also began having palpitations and tachycardia, so have stopped the Abilify.

my dr changed me from abilify and serquel to trazone and saphris. i was ok for about 3 days then started to feel sick, nausa chills muscle aches ect ect. i don't think it was a virus. but my question----can you have withdraws going of one type of meds and going on another that is simalar. i think going off serquel cold turkey and abilify is what did me in or maybe side effects from the new meds. i took the old meds yesterday and not the new ones and already feel better.

Could my medication (Abilify) be causing me to involuntarily rock back and forth seemingly at random when I'm not leaning against things? It's very subtle but becomes really noticeable when I lean forward. What is this even called? I only noticed it started happening after I took Abilify.

Wellbutrin is thought to be stimulating, so the likely culprit for your fatigue is the abilify, but any med can cause fatigue. I was on Abilify 5 mg and had muscle twitching so my psych. lowered the dose to 2 mg. It has really helped. 15 mg. sounds like an extremely high dose. How many mg are you on now? It does make me a little restless, but I'll take that over the voices and hallucinations anyday.

I need to know if abilify decreases methadone? Has anyone been on these two meds at the same time? Can you tell me how it made you feel? I was prescribed abilify but haven't started it yet because I am unsure of the interaction. Some say it causes withdrawal for the methadone and some say it increases methadone, talk about confusing!! Please tell me your experience or opinion.

I want to take antidepressants again because hopefully that will reduce my stress and reduce my pain. Abilify worked for stress, but it still had mental side effects, such as stuttering, and not thinking or understanding clearly, social anxiety, weight gain, and I cried all the time and I only liked sad things. And Abilify made me have limited interests. What kept me on abilify, was the increased interest for the limited interests that Abilify made me had.

I've been on abilify and lexapro for bipolar depression and I have random twitches all over my body. Plus it's not helping with the depression. The mood swings have gotten better but even Getting out of bed is hard. Like a heavy weight dragging me down. Any suggestions on what to do?

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew if the medication abilify could cause anxiety. My anxiety is so bad I don't know what to do. I am also on a low dose of prozac for depression. Abilify was added because the dr. thought i might be bi-polar. I dont think i am nor do my friends and family?? But recently the anxiety is unbearable i take xanax when it's really bad but it's has been so bad that i would have to take it once or twice a day and i really don't want to??? any suggestions??

I didn't know if anyone has experienced this: I had just started taking bc just after my period.But, I was taking other meds (Abilify) so I had only taken 2 bc. During my period I had unprotected sex. Than, a couple days later I had what seems another period. It lasted less than 7 days. During that time I had unprotected sex. I took a home pregnancy test, but it was negative. Probably too soon?
