abilify me+

I needed a medication for severe depression. My Dr. put me on 20mg of Lexapro. I am now taking 5mg of Abilify to help the boost the Lexapro. I didn't notice the restlessness/anxiety until a month on the Lexapro. Anyone else have this side effect?

Okay, I had a terrible experience with Abilify in 2006. I was given the prescription as I left the hospital after having my youngest son and I took it for about 3 weeks or so. I was on the generic version (which is why I couldn't remember the name of it until I just recently received my records.) The first thing was I became really jittery in a very physical way. Now, I am normally a fidgeter but this was really bad. I always had to be tapping my foot or my hand. Rocking quickly.

I went to the doc about an hour ago and he gave me effexor and Abilify i know nothing about it could you plz tell me about it? are they any side effects? Does it help and how long does it take to start helping??

I started Abilify around that time but has since stopped. I used Abilify for maybe a month. Since mid-may, my erections got gradually worse and now despite the fact I have fantasies that excite me nothing is happening with my penis. It either remains flaccid or gets only partly erect. I havent yet tried intercourse since I only recently met a woman and we arent at the stage of having sex yet. Would intercourse stimulation be enough to get my groove back?

ok so i have bipolar 1 disorder and i stopped taking abilify on my own because of my weight gain and my doctor said i have to take sumthing so he put me on geodon...i took it last nite and i woke up this morning light headed the i took the pill i was surpose to this morning and it made me feel worst like i was about to faint so i went to sleep and i slept for 6 hours and 30 minutes and im still sleepy so i mite have to go back to abilify...

Will Abilify help me adjust from tapering off pain medicine while at the same time , removing the zyprexa, and deal with my anxiety and bipolar issues? I cannot remain on anything that makes me as tired as zyprexa or seroquel anymore, it’s not helping with the major depression.

I use it in combo with Wellbutrin and am doing quite well on this regimen. I love my Abilify, it gave me back my normal life! Give it a go!

I have been on Abilify for about 3 months now, and it is currently the only medication I am on. It has worked wonders for my anxiety, and has helped somewhat with my depression. I can now socialize with ease whereas before I just had too much anxiety to deal with any social situations. Abilify has definitely made me more easygoing.

I have not noticed it from the Abilify. I love both meds though, they work great for me. I started the sweats from Wellbutrin and was put on Abilify later, so I do not know if it causes it too. All I know is I had to go get a powder puff and some powder and use it twice a day now! LOL.... good luck!!

My doctor gave me abilify but also warned me it could cause impulsive nerve action of throwing your head back. Permanent? I don't know. Not even going to risk it.

Just told me to exercise, and eat better. Gave me Abilify instead of that Seroquel and told me to come back in two weeks.

i was recently put on abilify and tegretol and felt that my mood was better, as well, but no energy or life in me to even bathe! so, i took away the abilify and take just the tegretol and feel better. i suppose my answer about abilify is that it is not for me. i'd rather want to take baths, cook, etc. sounds crazy, but i'm sure u get my drift if u are on this forum. lol! was in the hospital and this dr. told me i have soft-bipolar and to never get on any antidepressants again.

Lightheadedness and uncontrollable shaking are side effects of Abilify. Some other ones are weight gain, nausea and dizziness. Prozac interacts with Abilify and may increase the concentration of Abilify in your body. That may be the reason why you are experiencing the side effects. If you just started on Abilify then you should go talk to your doctor and let him know that you cannot tolerate the side effects and be put on something else.

I tried Abilify with my antidepressant. After a few months on Abilify, my anxiety was actually worse. I noticed that the Abilify caused me to be agitated and restless (like I couldn't get confortable or sit still, kind of jittery) Abilify is really ment more to aid in the treatment of depression than it is anxiety. It's designed to be used as an antidepressant add on drug to give a bit more antidepressant punch rather than an anti-anxiety punch. Bad idea I think.

I am not schizophrenic, Bi-Polar, or Autistic. I just suffer from Panic Attacks. My Doctor prescribed me Abilify as an enhancer for my Paxil/Xanax cocktail. Long story short, I was taking 2mg of abilify once a day. Recently My Insurance decided they were going to be the Doctor and my funding for the Abilify ran out. I am not going to pay $543.00 for meds can't afford it and think that price is ludicrous. So now I am in cold turkey wean from Abilify.

I would like to leave a comment. I started gaining kilogrammes on abilify so my psychiatrist told me its not from the abilify. I also have heart beat and shaking everywhere my body. Also my hair start to drop. And also I cant concentrate- the problem is I have memory loss. I did some blood test and my thyroid antibodies are not working properly, the other blood tests are not ready yet. Is it possible abilify cause thyroid problems or the drug is causing it not to work properly?

t want you to go only by my experience with Abilify, but it failed to help me much at all even at higher dosages. Then again you must also understand that I am VERY medication resistant and only the most powerful psychotropic drugs work for me. Refarding side effects, I really didn't get any from Abilify, then again I have been a human lab rat for 20 years so I don't get side effects from too many meds.

I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come

ve experienced a major depressive episode. Anyway, I HAVE tried Abilify with Effexor XR. I had to stop taking it because it gave me restless leg syndrome. I couldn't sit still. It may not affect you that way, but that's what it did to me. That was the only negative side effect. I wasn't on it long enough to know if it was beneficial emotionally/psychologically, but I "sensed" that it might have been if I had been able to stay on it.

Once I reached the therapeutic dose of Lamictal, I stopped Abilify and immediately experienced rapid fluctuations between depression and mania and my therapist told me to go back on Abilify at a reduced 2.5 mg. In addition, since beginning Lamictal + Abilify I have consistently gained 40 pounds.... 10 of which were gained within the 2 weeks I restarted Abilify at 2.5 mg. As someone who has a history of body dysmorphia and eating disorders, I NEED a different treatment.

I found out that my Pharmacy has a program for me to get Abilify for free so I want to give it a try. I was wondering if there are any bad side affects to look out for.

I was supposed to start on 10 mg of Abilify, but my doctor decided to start me at 5 mg at night with the Cymbalta and Valium. I haven't noticed any changes except for extreme tiredness. I can't seem to get enough sleep. I know that the Abilify causes you to be sleepy, but most of the medications do that until they get in your system. I'm sure my doctor will increase the Abilify in the next two weeks.

I need to know if abilify decreases methadone? Has anyone been on these two meds at the same time? Can you tell me how it made you feel? I was prescribed abilify but haven't started it yet because I am unsure of the interaction. Some say it causes withdrawal for the methadone and some say it increases methadone, talk about confusing!!
