Avatar f tn Has anyone ever tried Lithium, Trazodone , Abilify all together? If so how has this been for you?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Bipolar Type 2 last year and after trying a million meds, my perfect cocktail was Pexeva 20 mg, Lithium 300 mg and Seroquel 300 mg. I was happier than I had ever been, but the Seroquel caused major weight gain and major sleepiness-I was falling asleeo at work. I went off Seroquel and tried Abilify and one other (cant remember) but they did not work. I am now backon Seroquel 300 miligrams along with my Lithium and Pexeva.
Avatar f tn I take 5mg Abilify for about 21/2 months. Lithium 900mg for about 5yrs., and Klonipin a long time at diff dosages. Current dose for the last 21/2 month is 1mg plus one 0.5mg. I I havent't a clue so could you give me a ball park. I do realize everyone is different.
3248163 tn?1354847640 Yeah public aid (this is my last year on it.) pulled my abilify. It made me feel so..amazing. So real. Whatever I suppose, got denied four times. I also found out in america you cannot get coverage with a pre-exsisting condition. Thats just great, im fearful im going to just end up homebound. Just a lonely possibly schizoaffective young woman, doing nothing with her life because she cant afford the only medication that allowed her to work. My title has nothing to do with my rant.
12043143 tn?1423151465 If I get on an anti-convulsant/mood stabilizer like Depakote or Lithium will she take me off of Effexor and Abilify and just have me on one - say Lithium? Until then, I just want to take my non-threatening and easy going Effexor until she switches up my meds to Depakote for example.
Avatar f tn I took Abilify for almost a year for Bipolar Disorder II, both in combination with Lithium and on it's own. When I was on the Abilify alone, I noticed uneasyness and racing thought, similar to what cowgirlnerd said. I felt more hypomanic than usual, so I suppose it had kind of an "upper" effect for me. When used in combination with the Lithium, I felt much more balnanced and steady.
Avatar f tn I personally did not do well on abilify or lithium-they made me crazy. I think that the lamictal/prozac combination is a good combination for bi-polar. Is there any reason why your were switched to begin with? I have a lot of friends who have BP who are on that combo and do reallly well. Some of them are on the lamictal/welbutrin combo but usually its lamictal/prozac.
337492 tn?1212458836 She is switching me to Abilify and started me on 5mg once daily to see how I react. I also get my Lithium level checked in the morning. So, I want to know how Abilify is for you guys that take it! I am worried because I have had troubles taking Atypicals. She said Abilify is different and will perk me up. I read that it causes drowsiness??? So what is that all about? She also wants to keep me on my Wellbutrin (300mg daily), which causes blood pressure to go up in the first place!!
337492 tn?1212458836 She wants to wean me off of Lithium onto Abilify. I am supposed to take it for a whole month along with my entire dose of Lithium (1450mg). She also wants to keep me on Wellbutrin 300mg. Will this feeling go away? I tossed and turned with this crawling feeling all last night. I am having it bad right now.
1276940 tn?1564515084 I had pretty bad hand tremors like you described when I was on Lithium, and my feet did jerk occasionally when I was sleeping. Like you my pdoc knew all about it. I also was on Abilify concurrently. When my feet and arms were constantly moving or restless, my dr. took me off the Abilify. He identified and dealt with it as soon as i reported that it was going on for a week.
Avatar f tn I was on lithium years ago. It works well in combination with an antipsychotic. I can only add the standard advice to make sure to get the blood tests each month and be careful to drink enough water and as that an antipsychotic together can cause weight gain to monitor sugar intake. For myself it was a bit difficult with cognitive blunting and I found Lamictal more tolerable but each person is different.
202665 tn?1248806733 So, my pdoc mixes in yet another drug in my ever growing cocktail - Abilify. The plan is to start taking this to better control my hypomania and depressed states when they happen since the lamictal doesn't seem to be doing it. She's asked me to use the Abilify at night in place of the lamictal and if that works, replace lamictal all together - no change to the cymbalta or lithium. Does anyone have any information on Abilify - has it worked, any side affects, etc?
Avatar f tn So yesterday Abilify(2mg in am) was added to my 600mg(3002xd)Lithium, 1mg(1xd)Xanax and of course 50mg(1/2 or 1@bedtime)..Has anyone had any experience with Abilify?f it's something bad..nevermind.
Avatar f tn You are on a lot of meds. I was like that yrs. ago; way overmedicated and way overweight. I'm now down to 2 antidepressants and 1 mood stabilizer. (I am also a rapid cycler). Everybody is different and responds to medication differently. The best and most all-around useful mood stabilizer for me has been Topamax. It is an anti-convulsant, also indicated for propylaxis of migraines (which I also have). The great side effect, if you're overweight, is WEIGHT LOSS. Be careful, though.
574118 tn?1305135284 He substituted tegretol with Abilify as my MS. I heard well of Abilify and I happen to have come across http://www.askdrjones.com/2005/02/14/ranking-the-mood-stabilizers/ . To tell you the truth I became happy because I know tegretol needs blood tests, etc…while abilify has a few side effects except some anxiety. I only became suspicious about its potency as a mood stabilizer. Otherwise why do pdocs recommend always one of the triads (lithium, depakote, tegretol) or lamictal lately.
Avatar f tn I have had him evaluated more than once and have had him to alot of doctors with no real success. His diagnosis is adhd, bipolar disorder. he takes 5 mg abilify 2x a day 300 mg of lithium carbonate 2x day and 150 mg lithium carbonate at bed time it helps some but he still seems to have no control. what can i do to help my son before it is to late.
Avatar n tn I took Trileptal and Abilify for a while and it made me a nervous wreck, which I now think was from the Abilify. I took a really low dose of Abilify, and people on higher doses said it made them sleepy. I was afraid to take more to see if it would have an opposite effect--that defies logic, but sometimes medicine is that way. For example. Seroquel is usually best for sleep at 100 mg or lower. When you go higher, it can mess up your sleep (if you're only taking it for sleep.
1011752 tn?1269241519 1, and he thinks I am having significant symptoms. He raised my Lithium to 1500mg, and bumped up the Abilify to 5mg. I know it takes time, but I haven't noticed any difference yet.
Avatar n tn thought she maybe Bipolar weened her off Prozac and put her on Abilify. Total disaster very bad reation after only 1 day. Stopped that went back to prozac for the last 1 1/2 months or so. She has just started showing strong signs again of manic and obsesive behavior. Dr.s thinking prozac has backfired. She's been very agitated, angry, compulsive, crying, not knowing what's wrong or why she feels like she does. Even wanting to die. Four days ago took her to ER for eval.
2010625 tn?1329372056 I have bipolar disorder too.. You should ask your psychiatrist/doctor about lamictal or lithium. Perhaps even the med abilify to take the edge off. They're some of the most common, safer meds.
790165 tn?1268836968 I just got taken off Abilify because of the involuntary movements. I'm diabetic as well and the Abilify was messing with my blood sugars. I already feel better!
Avatar f tn t be on any mood stabilizers that go through the liver, my dr said lithium was processed through the kidneys. She also said lithium is sort of an archaic treatment compared to newer medicine but they definitely know the effects of the medication. What I want to know from as many of you that are willing, is your thoughts on lithium. Has anyone had or heard of a good or bad experience? My dr said side effects include tremors (?
