Having not wanting to deal with the symptoms I was switched to 20mg of Abilify. They told me the abilify would not cause any problems of sexual dysfunction, but after I started taking it the problems seemed to get worse and worse. we have tried several meds. currently he is on 50 mg of vyvanse, 40 mg of citalopram and 2mg of abilify a day. his behavior is beyond horrible. should i just take him off meds?

I take Zoloft and Abilify for bipolar disorder. My sugar levels were heightened due to Abilify, but I am now taking Metfforman to level out my sugar level because Abilify has the ability to heighten sugar levels. I am not a diabetic. Does cholesterol have anything to do with this cramping?

Yea, Abilify is actually just another anti-psycholtic medication, but it is marketed in a much different way. Abilify has been marketed in a very agressive way. So has Pristiq and Cymbalta. All drugs that I have found not to work for me.

If you just started on Abilify then you should go talk to your doctor and let him know that you cannot tolerate the side effects and be put on something else.

I was on Cymbalta 60mg once daily for Fibromyalgia & it truly helped with the muscle spasms. I did not notice any increase in my fatigue, which all Fibromyalgia pts. experience since it is one of many symptoms of this disorder. My psychiatrist also prescribed generic Adderall twice daily to help combat the fatigue & it does help tremendously. Be aware any amphetamine based drug can also awaken any OCD type behavior.

Hi, I have been on Abilify for many years now. I have tried in the past to get off of it, but depression seems to hit right away. I stopped it again a few weeks ago and now am really depressed and just want to cry and stay in bed(esp since I do not even want to get dressed) am going to start back up on the Abilify to get back to being even. Just didn't want to have to stay on med for the rest of my life. I felt good right after I stopped it, more energy, more motivation, then this.

Are you bipolar? Abilify is a med for BP and Lithium is as well. The two drugs work very well if they are at therapuedic doses. I am on Lamactil and Lithium and the two work extremely well, especially with the persistent depression and the irritation and emotional swings you have mentioned. Sudden irritation over inconsequential situations is a sign of BP. I used to get like that. I also really recommend talk therapy no matter what your age is.

I am on Abilify 20mg and I have absolutely no energy. I am in bed for 3 and 4 days at a time. I am getting really discouraged.
