Avatar f tn My doctor tried to get me to take Abilify....it wont take away "Hallucinations"....will it? I thought she was lying....so I never took it....let alone pick it up! She said it wouldnt, an when I went back to her...she said-we'll how about just the Celebrex? It wont take her away....that means the Abilify would have!!!! SHES A LIAR!!!!....right?
Avatar m tn 1. I take Abilify and Depakote, and sometimes psychoactive drugs have strange, rare side effects. 2. I am a kidney dialysis patient, and the Web tells me a very uncommon condition called dialysis disequilibrium syndrome, experienced during or after the treatments, can involve confusion, cognitive problems, or -- you guessed it -- hallucinations. I would appreciate any feedback or thoughts from readers.
403156 tn?1290150018 Has anyone experienced hallucinations while not being entirely depressed or manic? I have been diagnosed as BP II for almost 3 years and have never experienced hallucinations until now. I feel like I see things in my peripheral vision that are really not there. I have also occasionally heard things as well. Mood wise, I feel very stable. So this is completely alarming.
Avatar f tn Abilify is like a wonder drug. It has helped me so much with hallucinations/dillusions/ I dont have a diagnosis yet, just symptoms. It could be aggitated depression. Abilify makes me feel like ME again. Hope that helped.
540310 tn?1343624120 wow!! That's a loaded question! First of all there are many meds out there in the same drug classifications that all do the same job. Thing is... not every body responds the same to each drug. You have to fine tune it to your personal self and what works for you!! Lithium.. for me, I've been on it for 15 years, don't like it. Makes me feel sluggish, bloated ect but I need it! I'm on a low dose because I'm sensitive to meds. It works for me.
Avatar f tn He does not have depressive symptoms--he gets manic and hears voices when he is stressed so we also have him on a low dose of risperidone and also Abilify (which has been our miracle drug). Mood swings are getting worse and he is getting more aggressive at home (hits walls). Besides getting him a punching bag, I wondered if anyone has had better experience with a different mood stabilizer--maybe something new? We tried tegretol with no effect when he was first diagnosed.
526901 tn?1216334227 I;m on 2mg of Abilify and I love it but maybe you need another med with it, perhaps an antidepressant? Usually those of us with Bipolar disoder are on more than one medication. It's a matter of finding the right combination.I would get nack on the phone to the doc and tell him/her what's going on. They may change the meds alltogether. Don't get frustrated, it's part of the process, believe me I've been on everything all with no effect or bad side effects.
3248163 tn?1354847640 Apparently i'm nuts. I am so agitated and antsy right now. Then the hallucinations start. Joy. However, I feel I can just live with this. I'd rather be crazy than be fat, have a movement disorder, or pay $600 a month for crap that may or may not work. Everything but Abilify knocks me out cold. Can't afford to stay on that jive. So I hear that there's this mad pride movement. Gonna hop on that band wagon. God I feel like im on ecstacy right now. Ecsssstacy and cocaine.
Avatar m tn My 3 year old daughter is due to switch from Risperdol to Abilify this week (has autism and possible schizophrenia or bipolar with hallucinations) and I am wondering what side effects you found to be most bothersome. ***Please don't comment about her age unless you are familiar with early pediatric antipsychotic use. I am well aware of how absurd it sounds and no, I am not crazy and neither is her doctor.
Avatar f tn My husband is bipolar with psychotic features or schizoaffective. He started abilify 10mgs and seems fine now after many monyhs of non-treatment and pychosis.
Avatar m tn ve takin medicines like zyprexa and abilify but those just made me get hallucinations. Please help me I am seeking for solutions that I can work on.
1635546 tn?1309788658 I tend to think tere is something wrong with my brain and fear that I am dying and I think knowing my diagnosis will help me. Anyway, I am on Abilify, which is an antipsychotic, I suffer from hallucinations, depersonalization, derealization (they told me it was a form of dissociation), paranoia, anger (caused by the paranoia), I'm pretty "anti-social", very isolated.
1039200 tn?1314912008 I started on 600mg tegretol which made me feel better but the dose crept up to1400mg and was still not enough to stop the agitation, hallucinations and delusions. Then 100mg seroquel was added which initially reduced the hallucinations paranoia etc at first, but some symptoms have started to come back, again. Is it normal for medication which work for a while to lose their effectiveness, and what do you do when this happens?
Avatar n tn I just posted this on another website - I figure what the heck - the more the merrier! I will copy and paste! (It seems that more people are out and about here_ So, I want to make this a short post but don't know how I will manage that! About 4 or 5 years ago I became very very depressed. There was a lot of things going on - it was horrible.
899491 tn?1243773627 I felt that familiar disjointed feeling like I did not own my own body. The pdoc put me on Abilify which is an antipsychotic drug. Am I psychotic? The last three months I believe I experienced some type of psychosis. I had very delusional thinking and each day it becomes more ugly with my paranoia. I don't have hallucinations but I do get very sensitive around other people. I feel like I want to jump out of my skin and I try my best to avoid people.
1526148 tn?1295431220 There are a lot of other antipsychotic beside seroquel. If money is not an issue I've been hearing on other forums some great things about Abilify and anxiety. It won't make you drowsy like seroquel. Patience though is needed. One week is not enough time to make a drug decision because it can take 3-4 weeks for some of the side effects to disappear and the positives to appear. For example I was really dizzy when I first started taking Geodone, but now am fine.
Avatar m tn She is on Zoloft and abilify although the abilify we are convinced caused increased harmful thoughts and hallucinations. My question - the school has an IEP but I tis a small school and there aren't many services. They seem to want to put her in a behavioral school which is against anything I have seen with conversion disorder. She has regular talk therapy. I need help with the school to get them to keep her in the school setting. Any feedback?
202665 tn?1248806733 Doc has thrown in another new drug - Geodone - into my mix of Cymbalta, Lamictal, Lithium, and Seroquel XR. Had a bad reaction to Abilify so I am wondering if anyone has any experiences they can share. Thanks.
9395876 tn?1403628587 My recent blood test came back showing my liver results were high and my psychiatrist thinks its the 30mg dose of abilify. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm going in to see my family practitioner but I'm worried about the lower dosage because my schizophrenia symptoms might return.
Avatar n tn I began taking atypical antipsychotics just over a year ago, and stopped just over a month ago. I have been on Risperdal, Abilify, Seroquel, Zyprexa, and Geodon, in that order. Risperdal caused me to have a grand mal seizure. I was only on it for a month or so, and I was taking a fairly low dose (I don't remember precisely how much). Neither Abilify and Seroquel lasted long because of unpleasant side effects (nausea and twitching/akathesia).
Avatar m tn That's another thing I'm worried about is them adding a mood stabilizer because I already gained weight from Abilify and I don't feel like dealing with more side effects. Hopefully my previous psychiatric records help them realize they don't need to do anything except maybe tweak the doses of the meds I take already.
Avatar n tn I knew the dosage was too high in the begining because I was having terrible hallucinations, body quivers, heart palpitations, water retention in my face and trouble sleeping at night also I started stuttering as i talked. I was in a psych unit for 12 days for no reason. I was only taking this high dosage for only twelve days until I started detoxing myself before I saw the therapist who told me I did not fit the symptoms of Psychosis.
Avatar f tn I am on zoloft which does not help with my anxiety, does adding abilify help with the anxiety and the depression?
Avatar f tn There is no reason you can't take Abilify with Zoloft. I take Abilify with several other medications. It started working within 2 weeks and my depression decreased dramatically. One common side effect of Abilify is akathisia, a restless need to move. I have that but added propranolol and it stopped it completely with no other side effects.
