took her off of abilify because of muscle movement that would not stop [dti] Abilify has these effects on the side ,can the headaches be caused by being off this medicine.

It was prescribed for headaches and so far its been great. Ive lost 2 lbs. already. It controls appetite etc and keeps you from getting headaches but the sideffects are terrible. I take it right before bed and wake up feeling ok although the first few days felt very droggy. My neurologist wants to take me off it and i am refusing.

I have been experiencing upset stomach and headaches since I have stopped abilify. Does anyone know how long withdrawal symptoms last?

Okay so my doctor has decided to take me off of abilify but now Im having headaches. Is it because of the abilify and not being on it? Has anyone else experienced this? They are excruciating at times and I can't seem to rid myself of them. Ive put in a call to her office but no return call as of yet. Im just curious if the headaches are related to this because I wasn't having them until I went off the abilify as of last week.

A few years ago she stare with severe nausea stomach aches and headaches. For about 1 year she had every test known to man with no relief. Then she started getting severe body pains . Then she started feeling week along with everything. Everyday we would try to get her to school and she ended up in nurses office. She was unable to go to school. Finally one day she was so bad we took her pulse and it was sky high and blood pressure all over the place.

I take Abilify and it works very well for me. It pulled me out of the last bit of depression. It is covered by my insurance but the cash price is about $700 a month. It is pricey. If it wasn't covered by my insurance I would not be able to take it. I would call my pharmacy and ask if it is covered before asking for samples. If you can't afford to buy it then it doesn't matter if it helps - you won't be able to take it. Hope it's covered by your insurance.

I took abilify and began to have muscle spasms in my jaw. It felt as if all my teeth were having an extremely bad toothache. All the muscles are constantly in spasm and it has leaded to unbearable "temple" headaches. This has been going on for almost 6 years now and the pain is 24/7. Taken several SSRIs in the past for anxiety. Adderall XR for ADD, Wellbutrin too. I have been seeing a therapist for about 4 months and he had me go for a psychiatry evaluation a few days ago. The two concrred that I am "complex" and could be a combination of BiPolar 2, Adult ADD and even...Borderline Personality Disorder (god I hate that name). lexapro gave me severe headaches and also made me feel weird it wasnt a good med for me either .. There are so many meds out there these days just give it some time you will find one I got back on paxil because so far it has worked the best for me after prozac then zoloft quit working for me ....

Weight gain and the potential of diabetes is a potential for all currently available antipsychotics. Abilify has the least potential to cause this. Abilify and Geodon are activating and can make some people feel anxious. As for Fanapt and Saphris they are newly released and are clinically similar to Abilify but that doesn't mean they will have the exact same profile.

My son is 22 and is taking 7.5 mg abilify in the mornings for past 8 months. He feels sleepy throughout the day on some days. Other days, he is completely fine. Is this possibly caused by abilify? Thanks.

I have been on Abilify for about 3 months now, and it is currently the only medication I am on. It has worked wonders for my anxiety, and has helped somewhat with my depression. I can now socialize with ease whereas before I just had too much anxiety to deal with any social situations. Abilify has definitely made me more easygoing.

I have not noticed it from the Abilify. I love both meds though, they work great for me. I started the sweats from Wellbutrin and was put on Abilify later, so I do not know if it causes it too. All I know is I had to go get a powder puff and some powder and use it twice a day now! LOL.... good luck!!

If you are noticing that you require less sleep or feel elated during the day, please speak with your doctor as this is usually not the desired side effect. Abilify is now being marketed for those with depression. But it was used in clinical trials for bi-polar disorder... This is a strong anti-psychotic so please be careful.

I take Abilify ( 30 mg) once in tha A.M. & have for the past few years. It is a wonder drug as far as I'm considered. I HATE Depakote, the side effects alone I hate (weight gain). I & I speak only from my view that the Depakote is, (for me) the instigator of the weight gain. I AM on Depakote (for seizures). currently & I am SLOWLY going off it WITH my Doc's advice. I am on a HIGH dose & they have me withdrawing from it (250 mg) at a time. The amt.
