I just had abilify added to my Pristiq and Remeron.. I used to be on Zoloft 150mg but it just didn't seem to be working after 5 years of being on it. I was getting to the top dose of 200mg and that is why he added the Remeron. That was a magical combination however, anxiety was still bad and i couldn't cope with everyday activities still. So we switched to Pristiq-Remeron and I have had severe lows and break through in the moods with the Pristiq.
My Dr and I discussed it and he said i may be a good "candidate" for Abilify. Right now im taking 100mgs of zoloft, and .05mgs of lorazepham. Been on those meds for 2 months now and while im not having as much panick attacks, its still there and im having trouble sleeping. Im seeing a threapist tomarrow as my Dr told me to do,cause he wants to get a second opioun on weather i should take abilify or not...Has anyone here taken that medication? What are your thoughts?
hello! i have OCD about pregnancy and recently my doctor has put me on zoloft and respiridone. after a week or so, i started lactating so she decided to change my respiridone to abilify... i was just wondering whether zoloft of abilify causes breast enlargement because they are so much bigger and i guess they are making me more and more anxious. Then around 7 years ago I started getting panic attacks, so they put me on some benzos along with cymbalta and abilify. Cymbalta was the worst drug I'd ever been on; I felt like a walking zombie... not depressed, just not anything at all. I've been through three or four different talk therapists and a handful of psychiatrists. I've given up on both due to their lack of ability to listen (anyone else notice that?). I now just receive my rxs from my GP, which is fine...
I tried to stop taking zoloft and abilify about three months ago. I tapered off the zoloft and stopped the abilify cold turkey, per doctor's advice. I had mild side effects for the first month and then totally crashed. Needless to say, I called my doctor in desperation and was represcribed both medications. I feel much better, but am still very serious about stopping the medications sooner than later.
Once she felt better, she got back on the Adderoll/Zoloft rollercoaster and off the Abilify and Serouquel. She is also bulemic and purges after every meal. She's been to the hospital 3x for extremely low potassium (sweats, palpitations, nasea and diziness). My question is how the Adderol and Zoloft interact with the Bipoar I condition and the bulemia. I have BPII and decided after 8 yrs and extra 15lbs. on Abilify, to go off. Pdoc agreed and started weaning me off while titrating me up on Lamictal. I’m only on 25mg. Go up to 50mg in another week. Down to approx 1.5mg Abilify now. Feel HORRIBLE. Also on Zoloft 100mg. Having racing thoughts, anxiety, mood swings, bone pain and sweats. From what I’ve read, this is Abilify withdrawal. Do I just have to feel awful until Lamictal dose is high enough to be therapeutic? Thanks!!
An SSRI is one standard class of anti-depresent in the class of Prozac, Paxil and Zoloft (and the others). An SSRE is a new class of anti-depressent. Someone who is more familiar with anti-depressents can explain how they work or look up some of the websites linked up that are clinically accurate but consumer friendly. Glycine is not FDA approved yet (its in Phase II FDA study) so its still an unknown quantity.
My doc took me off effexor (wasn't helping my depression any longer) and put me on zoloft 50 mg in november. Stayed the same kinda depressed, but working, cleaning house, no biggie. then in March I told her I was still feeeling "sleepy". so she put me on abilify. Holy cow! lasted only 5 weeks on it - no sleep, restless leg syndrome, the works. when I stopped i went into the worst bout of depression ever imaginable to me - nightmarish. Went back on abilify to taper off for 1 month.
I have medication and eating concerns. I've gained 10 pounds in 3 months, eating candy bars and Ben and Jerry's icecream every night. I also have high cholesterol and triglycerides. I was stress eating, because I moved across country to a new state. I'm trying to break the habit and become a vegan. But, I ate a pint of Ben and Jerry's again tonight. My dad, uncle and aunt are now all vegans. They are suggesting this as an option for me. I want to try it.
I had been taking Zoloft for about 3 years, and recently stopped it on my doctor's advice, as he suspects the Zoloft is what's giving me an inability to orgasm. I stopped 10 days ago and am still suffering! This is not a lake of desire problem, or a relationship issue. I also take Clonazepam and Abilify. My doctor said it could take a minimum of 2 weeks, possibly longer, for my orgasm to return. I fear that it will not! Or that it will take a very long time.
I am glad your son is ok. I don't know anything about abilify but I take zoloft and I am taking klonopin( used to take ativan ) I think I am going to wean off klonopin...only been on for a couple days. How are you feeling?
Most anti-depressants tend to "poop out" after a few years in about half of those that take them. This is in part due to the brain finding a work-around on the medication so other steps are taken to get the depression/anxiety back in check. This problem is commonly fixed by adding medications such as Abilify to the original anti-depressant. Personally, I would not add these type of meds to Paxil unless you have not had any weight gain issues during your time on in.
