Abilify and tenex

Common Questions and Answers about Abilify and tenex

abilify

Avatar f tn He starts occupational therapy next week and just started seeing a psychiatrist a month ago. His next appt is Thursday morning and the doctor is wanting to put him on abilify or resperdil and I was wondering if anyone has used either of these and if they helped or had any bad side effects.
Avatar f tn We know vyvance has improved his focus at school for reading and math however, we have moved from abilify to tenex with success. Therapy is fustrating because his behaviour isn't consistent enough to plot a course. What I mean is, one week he is able to manage himself daily then the next week he may have a meltdown resulting from overreacting to a friend's comment then he is ok a few days later. The last therapist was fustrated so we quit seeing her.
695601 tn?1310909219 s very important that you be open with your parents and doctor about this. Tenex will not help with this symptom. The doctor will prescribe something else.
Avatar n tn If my ADHD son was on Tenex and now we've taken him off of it because of side effects; but we see mood swings, anger, depression, jealousy, angry words coming back once he was off of it, what would the next medication suggestion possibility be to replace it. He's on Adderall for ADHD but the above came back when he was on nothing, between Tenex and Adderall. He is five which complicates things.
Avatar f tn Now, somehow we are on three. They do help though and we hope to get rid of the abilify and maybe the buspar at some point. She still throws several tantrums a day usually. She has been seeing a therapist for a year and a half. She has been to a developmental pediatrician who basically threw up her hands and sent us to a child psych who was hard to deal with because we could never get a hold of him so we moved to another dev ped who is a specialist in kids with issues.
Avatar n tn He still gets shor tempered on the risperdal and tenex and prozac. We have upped all the amounts except the risperdal is still at 2 mg a day. He was much better in the beginning. He takes 3 mg of tenex, 2 mg of risperdal and 10 mg of prozac. He still is impulsive and gets into arguments. It seems to be an ongoing problem to adjust his meds. We see the psychaitrist monthly. He has been on other meds and they either made him worse or stopped working.
Avatar n tn Yes, your son's reactions of being defiant and emotional are normal for a child with a learning or mood or anxiety disorder. Do keep in mind these disorders are the results of physical issues in the brain and are not caused from life experiences. By the way, I assume your son has been diagnosed with ADHD - the usual reason for the meds prescribed. I'm wondering if there might be more help for you on the ADD/ADHD forum. All the best ...
Avatar n tn He is currently taking Topamax (37.5 mg), Desoxyn (5 mg), Tenex (1 mg), Abilify (1.25 mg), Prozac (1 ml), and Zyrtec... My question is... is this to much? I have let my ex-wife handle this for a long time... I don't believe that he needs all of this medicine. I think he is taking way to much... he is starting to have a real hard time and doesnt like the medicine or the way it makes him feel.
Avatar f tn he just started taking tenex and i dont know how safe it is. hes kinda acting strange, i think! i dont want to give him something that might hurt him. please help me!!!!!
Avatar n tn I believe that my child has a behavorial issue. She has emotional outbursts and loses her temper really easy. If she gets upset, there is nothing we can do to snap her out of it. Sometimes I do something to distract her and she forgets that she was mad. She says mean things to her sister and grandmother. If she gets in the "zone" nothing I tell her phases her. She will not follow directions and does not care if she gets spanked.
Avatar f tn ve never heard of it being used for withdrawal, but it makes sense. Anxiety and high bp are all symptoms, and tenex will take care of the anxiety-related adrenaline bursts and associated rise in blood pressure. And no, tenex is not addicting.
16638194 tn?1449934941 He started out on Risperdal when he was 4 but we quickly took him off because he quickly ballooned by 15 lbs. in 1 month. We eventually ended up on Abilify and Tenex (Guanfacine) and he's been taking that combination for about 3 years. Now we are at the point where those two meds were not working at all and we were already at the approved dosage limits.
Avatar f tn is tenex safe for my 9 year old? This discussion is related to Tenex use for mood stabilization.
Avatar n tn since sunday he has been very irritable and aggressive, with very frequent outburst of screaming constantly, hitting himself in the head and bitting, pinching, hitting, kicking, pushing, and scratching himself and others...the tenex kicks in some we can tell but he truly acts like he can not control it and seems like withdrawl from the risperdal which his dr did not tell us to taper off of it at all...we are worried please help!
Avatar m tn my question is recently we have been perscribed tenex for him his ocd has took over his daily living and its breaking my heart, i think we tried tenex years ago and it did the reverse.. al adhd meds do the opposite on him, looking for users that know of or have tried tenex themselves on there child. for ocd. ty in advance.
Avatar m tn he wakes up just screaming and hitting and biting himself. throwing himself on the floor and can not calm himself down. he sees a lady at the specialty clinic but has really been no help. she put him on tenex but it is a sleeping aid. i have done almost everything to get answers and nothing is comming of this..
Avatar f tn My son is 7 and was Diagnosed two years ago with ADHD. We have tried several meds and found one that works. However the problem we are having still is his behavior. He continues to aggaravate animals, siblings and others we have even gotten it on video of him aggaravating the family dog till he snapped at him. He is showing sighns of completly disrespecting every one it does not matter who it is.
585414 tn?1288941302 Technically those medications are for my physical disability (which the Tenex was not working on as well as it should) but they serve as mood stabilizers as well (Clonidine is sometimes used for this officially). But yesterday going off the Tenex and starting the Clonidine there was a "rush" a feeling I don't enjoy because it signals the onset of mania. Today is a bit better. But I have to raise the medications at a scheduled titration.
Avatar f tn though it is too soon to tell i have more concerns than optimism when it comes to this medication because it does cause weight loss and loss of appetite and my son has alot of trouble keeping weight on as it is.
Avatar f tn My son was on Vyvanse and Clonodine for a long time and it was a life saver. He has ADHD and ODD as well. The doctor wanted to try Tenex. We did that for several weeks and I begged to go back on Clonodine. Tenex was awful for us! Clonodine is fantastic and helps him go to sleep at night! If anyone wants to chat, I'm in the same boat~ ***@**** My husband and I have very different coping mechanisms. Any input?
712802 tn?1274645485 What you experience may be quite different from what everyone has posted. You might take Abilify and find that you have no side effects and it helps you and you will continue to take it. You might find that you get side effects that you can't tolerate and then you will quit it. The only way to find out is by trying it.
Avatar m tn I am on 90 mg of Cymbalta and just started 15 mg of Abilify for depression. My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. Have you experienced any side effects? When you're depressed and trying to get your medications right it just isn't fun. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come
Avatar f tn Hi I have been on 5 mg of abilify and also klonopin since jan..09.Recently i have been having severe dizziness.,y ear hurt so wen to dr put me on antibotic...Abilify has helped my depression so much but im wondering f it would start causing dizziness after being on it since jan 20 09...
Avatar m tn No diarrhea, no appearance of jaundice, generic geodon gave me beige stool before and and tried brand name geodon and side effect went away. Gonna get brand name guanfacine tenex and tenex won't cause biliary system problems.
