abilify and savella

My doc recently changed me from prozac to Savella since I have alot of muscular, nerve, and joint pains. I stopped the Savella because it was making me feel faint and just weird and on top of it did not help my depression, but it did stop my nerve (including sciatica type pains). Has anyone else had similar side effects with Savella and is it possible to take prozac with Savella?

I do have fibromyalgia and degenerative disc disease, My Rheumatologist is hard to get in to see quickly but I am wondering if savella she gave me could cause serotonin syndrome? All I take is is lisinopril savella and the methadone. Could methadone contribute to serotonin with the milnacipran? the savella seems to be helping my fibro. I have also came down 60 mg on the methadone in the last year.

Would like to know if anyone else had insomnia worsen and if so, did you continue to take Savella and did your body get used to drug and insomnia resolved? I am wanting to wait and see if it will subside in another week or so as I am having much less pain, I did the titration pack but have kept my 50 mg dose twice a day at 2/3 of the pill, so around 37.5 mg twice a day.

I have been on Savella for about 2 months and have not noticed the mood swings, but then again I take Pristiq along with it, so that may have something to do with me NOT having mood swings? Also, I had really bad sweats when I first started Savella, but that seems to have worked itself out and now I notice it only happens about once a week! HUGE improvement to the everyday drenched feeling! I would agree you should call the Dr.

I have heard that mixing these types of drugs are dangerous so many times, yet doctors do it all of the time. Cymbalta and Savella are similar drugs- they are both SNRIs. I think if your doctor is monitoring you well, you should be ok, but if you are uncomfortable with the treatment, it is your body and your responsibility to speak up and say something. Is your doctor planning on switching you to Savella, or just planning to keep you on both meds ?

Yes i have hypertension and cardiomyopathy along with the fibro.. Savella has not bothered my BP has however increased pulse rate a good bit. Hasen't done a lot for the pain but everybody is differant. I hope i was some help.

Has anyone ever taken Savella and Plaquenil at the same time? What were your reactions/results? (I'm been diagnosed with RA and FIbro.) My pain management dr told me I could take them both but only take 1/2 the dosage of Savella at night. My rheumy told me to take the plaquenil at night due to it causing drowsiness. I tried them both for the first time last night and my stomach was so messed up and I felt so weird I was afraid to go to sleep.

When I take Savella and Pristiq together, it works wonders. When both my pain dr and my psychiatrist got together and said I couldn't take them together, I became very depressed after getting off of Savella. I didn't want to kill myself, but I sure didn't want to live. Lyrica put me to sleep in horrible ways, Cymbalta doesn't work for me and anything like Prozac or Lexapro or Zoloft is candy to me. I also take Norco.

Then all of a sudden about 3 weeks ago my one shoulder started freezing up. Then the other and headaches. Then my spine, wrists and fingers. Now its in my knees calves and ankles. And lets not forget the IBS. Not much left except I'm in pain and exhausted but have no time to rest coz my Mom is undergoing radiation treatment for Breast Cancer so it's go, go, go. When time comes to rest I'm too sore to relax. Am I the only nut pushing thru.

The doctor suggested to start taking Savella, but I have not read about anyone taking Savella for this and that it helped the shakes and muscle twisting. I have heard a lot of side effect stuff, and withdrawal side effects. Anyone out there that has taken Savella and had good results?

I have just started taking Savella, but notice a headache throughout the back of my head and slight nausea. Is this "normal" for some people? And will the side effects disipate with time?

What you experience may be quite different from what everyone has posted. You might take Abilify and find that you have no side effects and it helps you and you will continue to take it. You might find that you get side effects that you can't tolerate and then you will quit it. The only way to find out is by trying it.

Hey, I am new here and was just wondering who is on Savella, Dosage and Results???

I tried cymbalta up to 120mg which did not work and now savella. In just 24 hrs, savella has totally messed me up. I am extremely depressed and angry, alot of pain and nausea. The depression and anger is my biggest concern. Has anyone else experienced this in just a 24 hour period? I took the savella in the morning and literally felt the difference in me throughout the day. I never felt this way in the 2.5 yrs before getting diagnosed. This is horrible and very scary.

I am on 90 mg of Cymbalta and just started 15 mg of Abilify for depression. My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. Have you experienced any side effects? When you're depressed and trying to get your medications right it just isn't fun. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come

Hi I have been on 5 mg of abilify and also klonopin since jan..09.Recently i have been having severe dizziness.,y ear hurt so wen to dr put me on antibotic...Abilify has helped my depression so much but im wondering f it would start causing dizziness after being on it since jan 20 09...

I was on Savella for over a year-- and it helped with my FM, but I also have bipolar d/o--- which caused the Savella to make me extremely paranoid. I was afraid to go out of my own house into the yard even. It was hell!!! I got off the Savella-- but it took me many monthes to get rid of the paranoia it had caaused. My Psych MD told me that this was a common occurance in people with bipolar d/o taking Savella.... Geez!!!

Hello, I took abilify for five years, One thing is that when you take ablilify it is added with another medication usually, and i lost all of my hair while taking it but not because of they abilify, it was from the depicote or what ever-eles i took, but after i got off the depecote, my hair grew back my hair is growing now, but if you havent took it very long you may be having other side effects like the shaking, i will say that dose go away and you get very much better..

I was wondering if anyone is taking savella and if so does it make you have hot flashes ?

My doctor switched me to lyrica/savella,and I am on day 11 of the titration pack. without any bad effects. My energy has increased, and I hope that continues,and my pain has been helped alot.

Since you have peeling of skin, dark and foul smelling urine and many other symptoms, you may be having symptoms of allergy and kidney toxicity because of the medication. Thus Savella must be discontinued and a doctor must be consulted immediately. You may need to taper the dose because you may also get withdrawl symptoms on sudden stoppage though you have not taken the medication for a long time. If your rheumatologist is not bothered, please consult a physician or another rheumatologist.

i tried cymbalta and it did nothing. itried savella and it actually helped me a little bit. i was able to cut back 1/2 to 1 pain killer a lot of days. i didn't stay on it because i couldn't afford it when we lost our insurance. i am normally hyper-sensitive to side effects and i didn't get any from savella.

I started taking Savella about 2 months ago and I REALLy love it! My mother also has FMS and also has loved Savella. She tried it before i did and once she had such success with it, i finally had the resove to get off the Cymbalta. I've never taken Lyrica but i have a friend who takes Lyrica as pain management for Deep Vein Thrombosis and he tells me it works very well for him. For the CFS i have taken Adderall XR for almost 6 years and it is the only thing that has worked for me.
