abilify and paranoia

I used to take Abilify and Prozac. But now my pdoc wants me just on the abilify...i talked to him today. He was very adimant (spchk) about starting me out on a low does of abilify and working up. My primary diagnosis apparently has not changed, however, i haven't been in to see my psychologist since all of this started. So we'll see how things work out. I think the toughest part right now is just getting my meds right. I know i'm being impatient, and i'm trying to fix that.

Psychosis can exist in mixed states if someone has bipolar with psychotic features. Ask your psychiatrist what your diagnosis is and what an effective dose of Abilify would be and give it some time to build up to a proper blood level. If things get out of hand maybe he could prescribe something in the meantime to settle things until it kicks in.

I just started back on Abilify and ambien (temporarily for sleep) after being off meds for 10 days. I am taking 10mg which is an increase from the 5mg that i was on. I was experiencing psychosis, paranoia, anxiety, and sleep deprivation. I'm not sure how my mood was at the time. most of the drugs like abilify , geodon, and invega have not combated the paranoia or delusional thoughts or the concentration so i was wondering if other drugs like adderall help at all?

my son is 21 and is also bipolar with psychosis so he deals with the paranoia more. he takes abilify and modafinil (modafinil is like aderol with out the addictive reactions) it helps him stay more focused. don't know if this helps - but feel free to contact me if i can help any.

Now after the first moth i started to get paranoid that my wife was cheating on me and thought every time she would go out with her friends she was out doing other things. So i told my doctor and he gave me abilify i started off with the sample pack and the stuff just made me very ill couldnt sleep felt like i was running in place just didnt feel rite at all so i stopped taking it and yet and seen him today. Could my medication (Abilify) be causing me to involuntarily rock back and forth seemingly at random when I'm not leaning against things? It's very subtle but becomes really noticeable when I lean forward. What is this even called? I only noticed it started happening after I took Abilify.

Can meds stop working after a while? If so, how do you know which one? What's the best way to approach that with my doctor? I'm at the max dose for all my meds (abilify, lamictal, and lithium). My doctor feels that therapy will bring me out of it but I'm not so sure. I'm feeling extremely depressed and paranoid along with some other tell tale symptoms, I'm thinking that something isn't working for me but I don't know what.

What you experience may be quite different from what everyone has posted. You might take Abilify and find that you have no side effects and it helps you and you will continue to take it. You might find that you get side effects that you can't tolerate and then you will quit it. The only way to find out is by trying it.

I am on 90 mg of Cymbalta and just started 15 mg of Abilify for depression. My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. Have you experienced any side effects? When you're depressed and trying to get your medications right it just isn't fun. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come

Hi I have been on 5 mg of abilify and also klonopin since jan..09.Recently i have been having severe dizziness.,y ear hurt so wen to dr put me on antibotic...Abilify has helped my depression so much but im wondering f it would start causing dizziness after being on it since jan 20 09...

Hello, I took abilify for five years, One thing is that when you take ablilify it is added with another medication usually, and i lost all of my hair while taking it but not because of they abilify, it was from the depicote or what ever-eles i took, but after i got off the depecote, my hair grew back my hair is growing now, but if you havent took it very long you may be having other side effects like the shaking, i will say that dose go away and you get very much better..

I had an episode of paranoia and delusions 8 mouths ago. I have no illness or diagnosis. It was a rush period in my love life and my mind was occupied with this one person, and than one day, after a week of non sleeping I was tripping that my parents are demons. Very scary. They took me to psychiatrist that put me on olanzapine 10mg and kept me in the hospital for 10 days. Traumatic experience. Than after 2-3 months the doctor put me on 7mg, and now I'm on 5 mg olanzapine.

Ive been on a few others, but before I was on the Lamictal and Provigel, is when I was taking 20mg of Abilify and 300mg of Effexor XR, and that helped the most with the paranoia and the depression and the manic episodes, etc. but even though I felt the most stable on that, I felt so droggy all the time and tired and like I said I gained soo much weight, it just wasnt worth it. Now on the Lamictal and Provigel, and the lamictal is doing okay.

There is a connection with taking Abilify and acne .

t been on any other meds besides these 2 for the past year and was doing well, or so I thought, but think I was actually slightly manic. My energy was good but I never slept, which does catch up to you. And eventually the old paranoia kicked in, not to mention the irritability, temper outbursts, and spending sprees. Knew all to well it was time to get help.........again. I do have a pyschiatrist that I see every 3 months.

Did you ask your pharmacist if abilify and ambien and any other meds you might be taking, including OTC meds, might be interacting to cause you to feel like this? Sometimes pharmacists know more about adverse drug interactions than dr's. Just a thought.

Are you saying you were put on Abilify before you were put on Celexa? Because if you've only been on Celexa a few days, Abilify wouldn't be appropriate. It's only a last resort medication because of its side effect profile and because it isn't known to work by itself, only in combination with another med. If, for example, you have depression, and you're on medication and its helping but not quite enough and you've tried everything else, that's what Abilify is for.
