Abilify and muscle spasms

Common Questions and Answers about Abilify and muscle spasms

abilify

712802 tn?1274645485 What you experience may be quite different from what everyone has posted. You might take Abilify and find that you have no side effects and it helps you and you will continue to take it. You might find that you get side effects that you can't tolerate and then you will quit it. The only way to find out is by trying it.
Avatar f tn I stopped taking the antidepessants and viola the spasms stopped and I can control my TN with two tegs again. The down side is my depression is now back in full force. I can tell you this my choice is depression over TN pain, if you ever expirenced TN pain you know what i mean. So now I'm wondering if for some of us antidepressants somehow screw up the nervous system? It took about three weeks after stopping meds for the spasms to stop, hope this helps.
Avatar f tn Sometimes, and this is if you want to stay on the meds, these kinds of meds affect magnesium absorption, and some find relief for the muscle aches and spasms and tics by supplementing with it. Take it with a meal apart from when you take your meds or before bedtime and see if it helps, but only assuming you're going to stay on these meds.
Avatar n tn There is a connection with taking Abilify and acne .
Avatar n tn I took abilify and began to have muscle spasms in my jaw. It felt as if all my teeth were having an extremely bad toothache. All the muscles are constantly in spasm and it has leaded to unbearable "temple" headaches. This has been going on for almost 6 years now and the pain is 24/7. I started out at the dentist because I thought it might be due to grinding or an abscess. Then to the neurologist that has given me so many meds to try with no avail.
Avatar m tn The main concern about taking these two meds together is that Abilify(an anti-psychotic) can increase the side effects of Wellbutrin. However, I currently take both these meds to treat my bipolar disorder, but I believe the dose I'm taking for Abilify(7.5 mgs a day) is low enough not to cause too much interaction. Of course people react differently to all meds so this may not be the case in your situation.
Avatar m tn That might be of concern as Cogentin should help and not worsen things (it is usually helpful on temporary movement disorders but can worsen permanent movement disorders but only a doctor would understand the specifics of this in full). They should do an evaluation for the potential of permanent movement disorders which generally they should do at reasonable intervals as they did with me (and other people I know).
Avatar f tn ve been getting random muscle spasms(mostly at night) and a lot more pain in my feet and lower legs. Almost feels like muscle cramping in my calf. But also, for the last 6 weeks, I have had vertigo steady. Worse at night when rolling in bed but have had to leave work(unable to drive) and have almost fell down at home. Feel at a loss..... But back to the doctor I will go.. Anyone else ever been told it was Lupus, It's not Lupus?

Avatar n tn My two kids and I started having muscles spasms almost at the same time a year ago, and we still have them. I have gone to several doctors and they could not find anything wrong with me. Now they are hesistating to give me referals, they may think everything is on my head, but it that's the case my head can not make my kids have the spasms, fatige and joint and muscle pain besides other minor symptoms. I really wish that everything was in my head and forget about it.
Avatar n tn i have muscle spasms severly in my right hand and leg and right side of my neck and my right hip. i would like to know what this might be ?
4461995 tn?1357955108 Yes, my spasms are MS related and Tizanidine, a muscle relaxer is a pill. Glad you're no longer in agony!
4856858 tn?1365378777 6 weeks post triple and I am starting to get muscle spasms. In my feet, hands and a little in my calves. Anyone else have this? What can be done?
Avatar m tn I sustained a compression fracure on L1-T11 and i still have severe muscle spasms on my left side lower back muscle. I tried pretty much everything as far as painmeds. and muscle relaxers but no luck. I'm getting to used to the Norco's i take and get depressed when on Percocet so i dont know where to go from here. I see a Pain specialst but have not had any luck with him. They tell me that my back is crocked and that the muscles are doing what the spine is suppose to be doing.
Avatar f tn potassium, calcium, sodium, magnesium, vitamin B complex, or vitamins B1, B3, or B6 and Vitamin D. Generally deficiencies of any of the above can cause muscle twitching and spasms in localized or generalized areas of the body. Get your kidney function, parathyroid gland function and adrenal function tests done because these affect the electrolyte balance in the body. Stress, alcohol, caffeine and fatigue all cause similar symptoms. Hence if you take alcohol or coffee then cut this down.
1396846 tn?1332459510 It almost always starts with a day or so of muscle twitches in that area and by the 3rd day the whole area is sore and tight feeling. This lasts a few days then fades away. I haven't had that happen for a few weeks now, but just this evening I've been getting a cramping muscle twitch in my left ribs area. I have no medicine for any of these experiences, so I'm praying this just goes away on it's own without too much pain.
Avatar f tn On top of other problems, I have recently been having muscle spasms in my hands, legs and feet. The hand problems occur when I've driving, holding up the newspaper, writing a letter. My hand gnarls up into an ugly claw, my fingers spazzing painfully. The problem with my legs and feet usually occurs after I've been asleep. I will be awakened with muscle spasms in the ball of my feet or the calves of my legs or sometimes the deep muscles on the inside of my thighs.
Avatar n tn Hi there and welcome!!! The best best thing I have found for muscle spasms and cramping is magnesium. My dr told me to go to the Vitamin Shoppe and get a product called Calm....it is powder form of magnesium that tastes great and works fabulous. I mix mine in hot water at night and it helps me to relax and sleep well. I even have my daughter taking it now! lol I got it in lemon raspberry flavor....they have other flavors. I found them online until I realized we have one here in town.
788554 tn?1257693252 OK, so I understand what causes the pin and needles and tingling, and numbness, fatigue in ms. But what causes the muscle aches, stiffness and spasms? I know it comes with the territory but does anyone understand what is the cause of it?
Avatar f tn I had stroke Nov.2007 and nerve pain and spasms are about to drive my crazy. Neurontin,Baclophen nor lyrica really seem to reducing the pain. I am waiting for my change.
Avatar n tn have you tried taking xanax or anything else for anxiety? I have muscle spasms now due to an injury and take robaxin for it now. It works really good. I don't think it would be a bad idea to takl to your doc about it. I wouldn't mention the weed though.. He might not give you the meds you need if he knows you smoke... That is IF you need meds. Also Muscle spasms in the shoulders, neck and upper back are most common places in people with anxiety.
1523981 tn?1311318595 I am 4 1/2 months pregnant and I recently started having these muscles spasms a few days ago right above the knee. They never seem to go away and when I stand up they are week and it takes me awhil to stand up straight or they lock up and I can't seem to walk or move for a few seconds. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen or if anyone knows what I can do to make it a little bit better.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately he consistently has lows and does not have the warning signs anymore. Lately he is having muscle spasms in his arms and legs when his sugars are extremely low. I don't believe it to be seizures for he is still conscious and remembers it happening. However at the time when this is happening he isn't withit enough to be able to help himself with his sugars. I haven't heard of this as a symptom of low blood sugar have any of you? Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn When it spasms yes feels like a pulled muscle but its a shooting pain when I cough. Yes , I read up on round ligament pain, and that's what it sounds like. Thanks.
427842 tn?1212029515 I forgot to add, It feels like someone is grabbing my muscle, and pulling and stretching it really hard!
Avatar f tn The neurologist told me to take one 10mg Flexeril at night and it helps. I have whole body (twitches? I guess I'd describe them) if I don't take it and other muscle problems the Flexeril seems to help. It's my left side that's lost strength and had the calf spasms and feet spasms. Those I sure can't stop. They did a DVT ultrasound at one point.
Avatar f tn Hi I have been having major muscle spasms in my inner thighs after walking or say a day of shopping. Does any one else have this happen? Is this all part of MS? Also do the pins and needles system come and go as it wants?
