abilify and memory loss

am taking abilify 8 years and suffer fom random memory loss, also have experienced uncontrollable shivering . Have major problems with the psychiatrist as they simply state no other patient has experienced those symptoms. The memory loss is fustrating/social embaressing but the 'shivering' is actually very scarey. Also keep waking up at night...4 or 5 am .Am seeking info/contact with other persons who may experience the same. Am 48 years old female.

Hair loss is not listed as a side effect of Abilify. I would address this right away with an Endocrinologist, as it may be related to your thyroid which can also cause anxiety and depression. Hair coming out in small clumps is a symptom of an underlying condition and blood work can determine what this is. Don't stop the Abilify, but make the prescribing doctor aware of what you're experiencing........

I thought the ambien was too strong, but I was so happy to sleep again...Now the abilify, I was suppose to increase from 2 mg today to 4mg, I wanted to tknow if 2 mg was a thereaputic dose and also can I take have of that and take 1 mg since Im so sensititve and that might work, Its been keeping me up at night the abilify, makes my mind and body racy and alert...Waiting for my dr to call back, but sometimes that doesnt happen......

My cognitive (memory loss, confusion, problems with thinking, etc.) symptoms seem to be getting worse as time passes however. I however have significantly gained weight on Abilify with no signs of stopping even with exercise and dieting so I'm going to request a med change if this keeps up.

It is not intended to be used for weight loss alone! Did you know it can cause hair loss and kidney stones? By the way, I have been on Topomax for about a year and haven't lost any weight becasue of the other drugs I am on. Think twice before you add another med to your list!

His psychiatrist should change that one. Geodon can cause heart arrythmia. Abilify is much safer. Actually the Cogentin and Inderal (a blood pressure medication) might causing the memory loss but they are used to control extra-pyramidal side effects and are necccesary for that.

I was taking this medication last August and still have the memory and concentration problems as of now. The problems have not gone away much, I would say only 50% better and it is still bad. I went to an Emory psychiatrist but they have just put me on Seroquel as of yesterday. I have stopped taking that today and while I was on it I felt very numb and could not feel emotions and I was very drowsy.

Any one on Klonopin and abilify for depression and anxiety...Does any one take thesse natural products witht them.

the abilify and lamictal should control the manic episodes for you. I too was on depakote and hated the weight gain and confusion -- and it was a very gradual process to decrease the dosage (with my doc's help) until I was finally able to get off it. I am now on lamictal 200mg and lexapro 20mg.

I take Abilify and didn't experience any unusual hair loss yet (just normal hair fall) and I've been taking it for months. Sorry to hear you had such a reaction to it.

I have been on meds for bi-polar and have developed tremors and memory loss (phone #, SS# etc plus other). I have gotten off the meds, been a few days, and am scared that this will be a permanent change. Friends who hadn't seen me in months, came over recently and were shocked and concerned about me, telling me that I seemed like a zombie. My husband's friends are pulling him aside and asking what's wrong. This is NOT the normal me.

Hello Everyone, I'm very new community. My new dr. just recently told me that me that I'm bipolar. I had been on lamictal for about two years for depression and anxiety, but weaned myself off of it, as I was convinced that it was making me gain weight. When I weaned myself off, I fell into a deep depression and had to find myself a new dr. I started Topamax and Wellbutrin, but the Wellbutrin is making my thoughts and heart race. So I have to go off.

Hi, I'm on 200mg Lamictal per day. I am finding more memory loss, also a form of stuttering I think. What I do often is I repeat a word over and over something like at work, and Im the boss lol, I might say " I think we should go go go go and get this item ordered now.

He took me off the cogentin because it was causing me to be confused and to have memory loss. That stuff cleared up, I don't know about the other stuff yet that I asked about in this post but we'll see.

I have been recently diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and am currently taking the medication ABILIFY..... i have noticed lapses in my memory and difficulty concentrating. Also i can't shake the lethargy either. I am just concerned with the quality of my life because the side effects of my medication are really affecting me. The reason i have continued on this medication is becuase it is one of the only antipsych medications approved for adolescents according to my psych doc.

Lots of combinations to try and it an be find just the right thing to function. My son was activated on abilify and found seroquel worked for his needs better. The good news is that the activation began immediately so we didn't waste time trying to find out if it would work or not as it wasn't a fit for him. So much of this is trial and error. Hi all, I am severely depressed & have been taking Prozac for a month now & my doc suggested Abilify to add. I had already put on 30lbs from lexapro, which is part of becoming depressed again. I have been on the Abilify for 6days now & can tell it is having a positive impact on me. I have had enough motivation to work out the past two days & I am really watching what I'm eating. Has anyone here had success with losing weight on Abilify & prozac?

i was on abilify and an antidepressent.... but the side affects of abilify for so bad i had to stop taking it. i could make sense with my words, i was shaking, swollen tounge, loss of concentration... i couldnt sit still and i constantall had to be moving something on my body. but thats just me.

s probably why my mental thinking and memory has been **** lately. My diaphragm feels weak and Its hard to even laugh or talk. I also have brain fog and I feel like a zombie. I've also had headaches and I got my wisdom teeth out so the brain fog is worse. I'm going to physical therapy, cause I have scoliosis and neck pain and jaw pain. I feel like my face is a mask and I can't ******* smile or express emotions anymore. I'm so apathetic and I can't like anything.

I've been on methadone for 6 months. And I loose everything. Keys credit cards anything I set down. Forget to do things. Sometimes I drop my mom off and drive home, forgetting to stop at the methadone clinic. The clinic says "I haven't heard of that". I'm on 80mg. Has anyone else experienced this as fast. I am really worried, my dad died 4 years ago. From glioblastoma, which is the worst type of brain cancer and one of the symptoms is short term memory loss.

My question is could the buildup of medications etc cause him to now have memory loss, language skills loss and tremors in his right hand. He walked in to the hospital on crutches and now is dependent on a wheelchair.

hi, i am 33 also and a mother of 2 daughters 6yrs and 2yrs and have a terrible memory. i forget things on a daily basis. like my husband asks me to post something and i either forget to bring it with me or i put it in the car , drive to wherever and come back home still with it!! i meet people say from former work place or school, and i have no idea who they are. i dont remember much from childhood, and if reminded i only vaugly (sp?) remember.
