My insurance has a $200.00 co-pay for Abilify and I am 68 years old and on medicare. I just cannot afford this but it worked so well for me in the past. At this time my Dr gave me some samples but they are almost gone. After 6 days of taking Abilfy everything kicked in and I was able to function again.
I would also make sure your prescription insurance covers Abilify, as it is still under patent and there is no generic available at this time. For me, without insurance, a thirty day supply would cost about 260 dollars. So I would look into that as well, and, if it isn't covered, then perhaps you could get samples from your doctor.
I am on 7.5 mg of abilify (morning), and 2.5mg zyprexa (night), which I've been on for a couple of weeks
I'm finding the mix better than just the 7.5mg of olanzapine I have been taking previously for 6 years due to the fact I can actually get up in the morning now!
I recommend these doses. I would like to know side affects of abilify..ie sex drive, sense of humour, weight loss?
And can I use paracetomels with this mix? And green tea slimming pills?
I take 24mg suboxone daily. Iam bi-polar and was prescribed pristiq and abilify, after i went on the suboxone, which i did not tell the doc i was on. I took my first dose of the meds, the abilify and pristiq, (which i had been on before) and got deathly ill, for about 6 hours, then i felt drugged until the next day. I have not tryed it again. Iam only on the suboxone, but i want to get off of it, it has changed my life for the better, in every way, except the cost.
I am on 90 mg of Cymbalta and just started 15 mg of Abilify for depression. My doctor has titrated me up on the Abilify gradually. My question is for anyone who take 15 mg of Abilify for depression. Have you experienced any side effects? When you're depressed and trying to get your medications right it just isn't fun. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
I have only started the Abilify so far on day 3 … I was supposed to start together but I dropped the pristiq bottle and pills fell on floor now because of contamination ocd I can’t take them and insurance won’t pay for a refill yet so doctor says just take the Abilify for now , I’m noticing it is helping me to change my behavior versus the ssri just kinda helped me manage my existing behaviors but never had courage or motivation to change my behaviors so I’m hoping that’s where Abilify will come
My doctor recommended cutting back on the Effexor and adding a mood stabilizer called Abilify to help bring some mood balance and joy back into my life, she said it would also help me sleep. The only problem is I have a high deductible on my insurance and the pharmacy said the Abilify was 700 bucks for a 30 days supply unit I reach my deductible of $1250. There is no way I can afford that!

Are you saying you were put on Abilify before you were put on Celexa? Because if you've only been on Celexa a few days, Abilify wouldn't be appropriate. It's only a last resort medication because of its side effect profile and because it isn't known to work by itself, only in combination with another med. If, for example, you have depression, and you're on medication and its helping but not quite enough and you've tried everything else, that's what Abilify is for.
When I looked up weight gain and bipolar medications, Abilify was at the bottom of the list for weight gain, Geodon people gained the least then Abilify. I'm on 2mg. of Abilify and in the begining you tend to feel sleepy, that's why they start you on it at bedtime. I would be surprised if Abilify caused a racing heart but you definately have to tell your doc about that. I was also on Wellbutrin and had to come off because it caused to much anxiety.
