abilify and celexa

Are you saying you were put on Abilify before you were put on Celexa? Because if you've only been on Celexa a few days, Abilify wouldn't be appropriate. It's only a last resort medication because of its side effect profile and because it isn't known to work by itself, only in combination with another med. If, for example, you have depression, and you're on medication and its helping but not quite enough and you've tried everything else, that's what Abilify is for.

did he say why he prescribed the abilify? Does he still want yout taking the 40mg of celexa and ativan? My shrink mentioned possibly putting me on abilify as well but to boost my lexpro for depression symptoms since I am very sensitive and can only be on low doses of meds. Why did he prescribe it for you?

Hey all, new to this page. I've written in the alcoholism part before. Anyway, I've recently been diagnosed with bipolar 2 which I've assumed for years! I'm on abilify, lamictal, celexa, and ativan. I'm constantly fidgety and results, and can't concentrate on anything at all right now! There's more too but those are the most annoying right now. Am I still manic or is this side effects from my medication? Any advice would be helpful.

First of all may I ask why you switched from celexa to cipralex? I know I have asked my Dr about abilify and she will not prescribe it for me, not sure why but she does say there are better drugs out there... I know every Doc is different as is every person. Sorry, I know this does not answer your question..

I am on zyprexa and celexa for my bi polar and they work great. I did gain in the beginning but I have lost it through exercise and 6 healthy meals a day. you can keep from gaining on the zyprexa. Plus I decided that I would rather be stable with the weight than skinny and in jail.

I just started Pristiq and Im also on ativan and abilify............wondering if anyone else has taken these meds together.I felt great after taking the pill last night now today im kinda scared and spacey feeling...any thoughts?

the psych gave me lamictal and celexa but I was having alot of medical problems and I thought it was the lamictal so i quit taking it. But it wasn't. And was just taking the celexa but I was gaining alot of weight , and I allready have issues with weight. I always think I can go off pills and that I don't need them, and then someone can say something that irritates me, and I get so pissed.

I have been to Dr. A for years and have taken SSRI's on and off. The best was Celexa and did great on it for a year. It just made me have trouble waking up and made me late to work every morning. Then I moved and went to a new psychiatrist, Dr. H, who knows me less but was more thorough like taking blood and mouth swab test, etc. He seems to think I have a mood disorder (bipolar spectrum) on the the depressive side and thinks Mood Stabilizers like Lamictal would be better for me.

s a day, 80 mg of celexa, 150 mg of welbutrin sr, 30 mg of abilify, and 1 mg of requip. I would like to be able to go out with my friends and be able to have a few drinks for my birthday but I'm scared of the interaction with all this medication and alcohol. What could possibly be the side effects of mixing all of these.

I;m on 2mg of Abilify and I love it but maybe you need another med with it, perhaps an antidepressant? Usually those of us with Bipolar disoder are on more than one medication. It's a matter of finding the right combination.I would get nack on the phone to the doc and tell him/her what's going on. They may change the meds alltogether. Don't get frustrated, it's part of the process, believe me I've been on everything all with no effect or bad side effects.

im so upset, my dr put me on abilify in september with my effexor, my libido got very low and i wasnt able to come, now the dr is taking me off effexor and abilify and put me on celexa...now my libdo is completely gone and i cant come at all....it was the only thing i had left i was able to enjoy, i could always get in the mood and able to come fast and at least 2 times, now it just hurts and i dont want to do it....is this from the celexa?

I had the same experience with SSRIs in the beginning. I started taking Lamictal and ramped it up to 200mg along with Effexor and Abilify. That's my list for now with no complaints. I still feel myself cycle up and down but the highs and lows are much less. I'm definitely more balanced and much much less depressed. Finding what works for you is the hard part. Just don't get frustrated and give up looking for relief.

I am taking celexa 20mg and abilify 10mg. I need both these medications because of my mental illness. I have been taking them for about 2 years and my illness is now almost totally stablized. I have no difficulties with symptoms of my illness. But I have side effects and the biggest one is that I can not achieve orgasm, or if I do it happens very rarely and takes too long for it to be worth it.

I take Cymbalta and then I was also put on abilify shortly before my family and I went on vacation to Disneyworld and it was the worst time I ever had! I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin! I was so agitated and could not sleep. I would pace at night! I did get off abilify when I got back and am just on Cymbalta now and am better but I am experiencing things like headaches and heart palpitations so may be getting off Cymbalta, too.

I am taking medication for my bipolar Celexa and Abilify.. And going to therapy as well what else can be done for treatment? I'm a married mother of two small children....

For instance, I told him that I lowered my Celexa dose and it caused me anxiety/depression. And so I think he thought my Celexa was causing me anxiety/depression. That was only when I lowered it. But it's true that with other SSRI's they didn't help with anxiety for me (and maybe made it a little worse). But I'm not sure why one doc says I have "anxiety/depression only, not a mood disorder". And the other says I have a "mood disorder.

I was diagnosed bi polar a couple years ago. I took my Meds (seroquil and celexa) everyday and did therapy regularly. When I found out I was pregnant the Drs took me off all my Meds because of potential birth defects. Now I'm so moody, depressed, crying a lot, and just feeling deflated. I was on seroquel 100mg and citalopram 10 mg for anxiety and panic attaks, and he says I have deperilization so he uped the citalopram to 20 mg and put the seroquel dont too 50mg and added abilify 1mg and clonazepam 0.

I saw my doctor and he upped my Celexa to 40mg, and put me on Abilify. I started feeling better for a week (I was also on my period at the time). I just saw my doc today and he suggested i go on Abilify also. But when i went to the pharmacist he told me it would be $40 a month for the script. I can not afford that. t mean to hijack this thread, but would happen if someone just started taking Abilify 15 mg, Celexia 10 mg, and Klonopin 1 mg (all generic) for five days and then just stop cold turkey? No prior medication were taken.

I was on celexa 40mg for 4 years and it didn't work that much for me. I never felt normal like myself, and didnt enjoy doing thing. So i tappered of off that a week ago with guidance. I started Lamictal 12.5 mg today (11/6/13), have to go very slow on the increase dosage to avoid deadly rash. But i am feeling itchy all over my body and face and have light headache. But no rash yet. Did anyone took Lamictal for anxiety and depression? Did it work,and how soon did it started working?

effexor xr and 20 mg. Celexa. It has been trial and error but finally with the increase of the effexor xr and addition of Celexa I still have some depression and some mood swings but overall, I am MUCH better. I took Prozac for many years and really good success, really worked great for me and after several years it lost it's effect on me. Sometimes it it a matter of increasing your present meds. The other atypical antipsychotics (also used as mood stabilizers) that have less of a potential of weight gain are Abilify, Fanapt and Saphris. You could ask your psychiatrist about those options. I had similar reactions to Zeldox but each person responds differently to each medication.
