abilify and anxiety

Is it true that we can have anxiety and depression at the same time? Sometimes I feel like I have both. I need to be on medication for this. I am already on a moodstablizer (abilify). What do you guys think?

There is a connection with taking Abilify and acne .

Any one on Klonopin and abilify for depression and anxiety...Does any one take thesse natural products witht them.

When I looked up weight gain and bipolar medications, Abilify was at the bottom of the list for weight gain, Geodon people gained the least then Abilify. I'm on 2mg. of Abilify and in the begining you tend to feel sleepy, that's why they start you on it at bedtime. I would be surprised if Abilify caused a racing heart but you definately have to tell your doc about that. I was also on Wellbutrin and had to come off because it caused to much anxiety.

Which anxiety medication is a good choice when combined with abilify? Could you suggest a med. that doesn't couse dipendency?

my doctor has given to me abilify and wellbutrin, is it good for quit smoke and go school well? i cant go school well. i cant stay in classroom. even i cant go to school. i always want to stay at home. i am out of my home, i quickly want to go back my house. also i smoke 3 packet cigarette in a day. also i have serious sleep disorder. i explained my problems to my doctor. then he gave me wellbutrin and abilify combination. what do you think about it?

Hello, I took abilify for five years, One thing is that when you take ablilify it is added with another medication usually, and i lost all of my hair while taking it but not because of they abilify, it was from the depicote or what ever-eles i took, but after i got off the depecote, my hair grew back my hair is growing now, but if you havent took it very long you may be having other side effects like the shaking, i will say that dose go away and you get very much better..

Abilify has the least potential to cause this. Abilify and Geodon are activating and can make some people feel anxious. As for Fanapt and Saphris they are newly released and are clinically similar to Abilify but that doesn't mean they will have the exact same profile. If someone hasn't responded to or has difficulties with the antipsychotics they've tried those are two new options they could ask their psychiatrist about.

I have been on Zoloft 150mg for about a week and feel more agitated, nervous, anxiety and still depressed so my psychiatrist just added Abilify (5mg) and Remeron along with a thyroid RX to my Zoloft 150mg. I feel this is way too much as I was hoping to change to a different SSRI instead but he didn't feel that would help. I've been taking Ativan .

My Dr and I discussed it and he said i may be a good "candidate" for Abilify. Right now im taking 100mgs of zoloft, and .05mgs of lorazepham. Been on those meds for 2 months now and while im not having as much panick attacks, its still there and im having trouble sleeping. Im seeing a threapist tomarrow as my Dr told me to do,cause he wants to get a second opioun on weather i should take abilify or not...Has anyone here taken that medication? What are your thoughts?

Abilify worked for stress, but it still had mental side effects, such as stuttering, and not thinking or understanding clearly, social anxiety, weight gain, and I cried all the time and I only liked sad things. And Abilify made me have limited interests. What kept me on abilify, was the increased interest for the limited interests that Abilify made me had. I've always loved animation, but Abilify increased that, and I was obsessed with animation.

I would go for the mood stabelizer over the klonipin since klonipin is only a bandage and not really treating the anxiety. Plus it is addicting and that's another issue you don't need to deal with. I would ask the doc if he could come off the Risperdal and go on a mood stabelizer rather than add it to the mix. I take Abilify and it covers everything, bipolar issues, anxiety, panic attacks, it's all gone away now and I feel so much better.

Well, I'm known here for giving the hard things a try, but I'm also known for thinking things through a bit differently, so here goes. Abilify was approved only if all other antidepressants had failed. It's isn't an anti-anxiety med, so I'm guessing wasn't given to you for anxiety. If that was the first med tried with you, that would be very very odd, as it's a last-resort med due to bad clinical trials and lots of unpleasant side effects.

Actually Ativan is more for anxiety and Abilify is more for depression but it can also help with anxiety. This is common practice, trust in your doctor. Best wishes.

When I was on Abilify although it was helpful I experienced some anxiety and agitation and insomnia. Some of those issues are not uncommon as Abilify unlike other antipsychotics instead of being sedating can often be activating. Is that some of what you are experiencing?
