1043568 tn?1253450188 I am 54 years old and I was still pretty regular before the Tamoxifen. My gynecologist is recommending that I get a radical (abdominal) hysterectomy since I am still having periods. I had a D&C last year and had a benign polyp removed. Just had a trans-vaginal ultrasound 2 weeks ago and everything was fine.
Avatar f tn Most people actually do have complications with an abdominal cut hysterectomy, and laporoscopy.
Avatar f tn Not sure what to do, I am fifty, perimenopausal, Dr says I have complex ovarian cysts and endometriosis, (also two types of bladder problems going on) Dr says that I also tested positive for the MTHFR gene which makes me high risk for not surviving a hysterectomy, says if I do survive, I would have to go to a nursing care facility, also told me that she cannot say that I do not have ovarian cancer, ca-125 was normal, she says I have alot going on, put me on pill for bladder, wants me to start in

Avatar f tn By all means get a second opinion before the hysterectomy. The attitudes about hysterectomy vary from region to region and from city to the suburbs... I live in a smallish WI town where docs sound like the writer's doc- 'just take the darn thing out' is the usual comment in this 'neck of the woods'! And I admit to coming across many women over the years who were very grateful for 'the change'. BUT...
Avatar m tn I had a salpingo oopherectomy on both sides, a hysterectomy as well as a appendectomy on February 5th 2013. I am 27 years old. Since the procedure was done I have had severe lower abdominal pain while urinating. I have been very sick. Does anyone have an idea of what this pain is from?
Avatar n tn Had a hysterectomy 7yrs ago. did not remove ovaries or fallopian tubes. Starting to have lots of pelvic pain again. Will I have to have them removed eventually?
Avatar f tn There are two ways to do the surgery. The old-fashioned method is called a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, or TAH, meaning the work is done through an abdominal incision. Recovery time is easily 6 to 8 weeks. A Total Vaginal Hysterectomy (TVH) means the uterus and cervix are removed through the vagina. A laparascope is used through tiny incisions in the abdomen to release the structures that hold the uterus in place.

Avatar n tn I had a hysterectomy on Dec 2nd, they could not get the draining tube out. It has been over a month and it has not budged at all. They are telling me it could take 3 months or more for it to come out. Is this normal? What are my options if I want it out now. There is a very bad odor.
Avatar n tn The second doctor agreed with his partner and could not believe how young my daughter is to have such a severe case of the combination prolapse. Second doctor does not want to do a hysterectomy due to her age. The mesh, he said was also permenant and she will not be able to have kids. He wants to take her to surgery and suture the bladder up and perform some type of pigskin placement to fix the uterus.
1670196 tn?1306841245 it was an abdominal hysterectomy. I've had my urine tested, I don't have a bladder or kidney infection and no bladder or kidney stones. I have pain and the fever won't quit. It got up to 101.6 yesterday and I am on 800 mg motrin every 8 hours.
Avatar f tn Although the combination of calcium plus vitamin D has only been shown to reduce fracture in a nursing home population, it is recommended that all people with osteoporosis initially be advised to take these dietary supplements. The benefits of additional calcium and vitamin D are highlighted with caregivers for people with osteoporosis residing in nursing facilities. Treatment is generally given twice daily with meals to optimize absorption.
478868 tn?1209031705 I also had an abdominal hysterectomy last May 2007...A week after the surgery I had difficulty walking and standing straight up and I was getting sicker and sicker..so the Dr did a ct-scan which showed that I had ruptured my intestines from severe vomitting and through the staples I had a protruding area...I also had many other complications but they had to do an emergency surgery to repair it...
