Avatar f tn Im starting to run/walk and i also want to start doing ab workouts as well as squats, so basically i just want to know if should do the workouts before or after running/walking?. .. or does it even matter?
Avatar f tn m 21 years old and I found that I got the most flat/toned stomach when I began weight training. (Incorporated with ab workouts after). When you build muscle your body will burn more calories at rest than it would with less muscle mass. Incorporate cardio too, about 20 minutes. I also eat a diet with a lot of whole grains, fruits veggies, and no junk food like chips or anything like that.
Avatar f tn This is my third pregnancy and Ijust walk the treadmill and do the elliptical. You probably should not being doing ab or cardio workouts. While pregnant slow down and be safe.
Avatar m tn Should I maintain the 45 mins on cardio after my weight training workout or should i decrease it like i was planning? I do realize that if you want to lose "weight" then cardio is the most effective avenue. but my goal is to lose weight while toning the muscles beneath the fat. I'm pretty sure that losing "weight" generally includes losing muscle as well, unless you can exercise those muscles. I would like to find a good balance between both cardio and weight lifting.
Avatar f tn am 5 weeks 5 days and I was wanting to know if it is safe to continue light ab workouts 5 to 7.5 minutes a day. Things like crunches and sit ups.
Avatar f tn CARDIO! doing ab workouts doesn't do anything until you burn that fat layer off. My favorite a cardio is freestyle laps in a pool for 30 min. Running is boring but you want to sweat a lot.
Avatar m tn Do jumping jacks. Run in place or just run. Look up at home cardio workouts for some fun ideas. Zumba is a great cardio workout.
Avatar m tn Medium intensity cardio workout such as bicycle riding or fast walking, duration 30-40min before breakfast with adequate hydration. 1. How good/bad it is for a cardio-vascular system and heart in generally? (I'm especially interested in bad side-effects) *I heard that any kind of activity in the mourning is no good for the spine discus because they are swollen, does it apply for mentioned type of workouts? P.S. Sorry for my englsih. 2.
Avatar n tn I have eliminated any kinds of ab workouts, I do a quick simple arm and leg routine and then do 2o min on my elliptical. Some days I am all full of energy and have to remind myself that I set a time limit for a reason. Other days, I don't feel like doing anything! My lil workout is how I end the day. The kids are in bed, so is my so. I clean then I take my workout as some me time. Then shower and bed. Lol, it is almost 1am and I am still trying to convince myself to just do it.
2181422 tn?1400511380 Even after the 6 week mark I was VERY weary about doing strenuous ab exercises because I was afraid of doing any damage, my doctor told me wait a couple of months and then start up with the ab exercises, so I'd stick to mostly cardio workouts for the first few weeks after your 6 week just to be safe, you don't want to set yourself back. But ask your doctor, my last doctor was a paranoid freak about anything c-section related haha!
Avatar f tn Heiligs14 what kind of cardio do you do. While cardio is an essential component to Any weight loss or fitness plan it's not the only component. Try this for 3-4 weeks and see if it helps. I think you'll be very pleased with your results. If you work out 6 days a week split that between intense cardio (heart rate between 70%-80% three days a week and 3 days of moderate intensity weight lifting.

Avatar n tn Those ab ligaments are easy to pull while you have the relaxin hormones and closer to the end you definitely want to lay off the ab workouts. On the plus side, you can start again right after a natural birth, but not a c section.
10840278 tn?1424816083 Other studies have backed these findings but, they all note, that low or moderate intensity workouts don’t show the same substantial results. Exercising in the mornings can help creating a regular sleep pattern. Research also indicates that people who exercise at night or in the evenings have more difficulty falling asleep than those who work out earlier in the day. Not only will the improved sleep help you be more focussed and energetic, but sleep plays an important part in weight loss.
395769 tn?1318449682 I've heard ab exersice is ok before your second trimester even if your lying on your back. But once you reach a certain week lying on the back can reduce blood flow to the baby. I know exercise is ok in normal pregnancy, but I'm worried am I "high risk" because I had a blighted ovum in June? and a possible chemical pregnancy a couple months ago?
Avatar n tn Hi! I am on a diet at the moment because I want to lose just under a stone. I weigh 7.2 stone and am 5 ft 4". I exercise all day everyday by running, walking, ab workouts, cardio, aerobics and dance. However every time I lose a lot of weight, I gain it back on through eating carbs and calories. So, I decided to work off more calories than I actually eat. However, this makes me weaker so I need some alternatives that have basically no calories but are still substantial.
Avatar f tn s natural for women to have some fat reserves on their legs, otherwise your bones or period can be severely or permanently affected. This is really important if your still growing. For strength and toning, inner leg lifs, squats, lunges would be good. leg press, hamstring machiens at gym might be ok... provided that you do low weight, high reps otherwise you'll build too much muscle to be a long distance runner.
Avatar f tn ll need to avoid is too much ab workouts, like push ups, weight lifting; and as you get bigger, listen to your body and stop when you need to. No need to push yourself.
Avatar f tn My doctor did not allow me to do any type of sit ups or bending at my stomach after 20 weeks you need to talk to your doctor before starting any type of exercise.
10028419 tn?1416841704 Take longer rest in between sets. Stay away from ab workouts, dont let anything hit your stomach, be careful of lunges ,you can lose ur balance. Squats put too much pressure on ur stomach, try to do other leg workouts, such as leg press ,hamstring curls etc. When you do cardio try to keep ur heart rate below 142.
Avatar f tn You need to do high-intensity cardio that will max your calorie burn. Start with a healthy diet and incorporate the cardio below or any cardio using the same principal. Before doing anything get the OK from your doctor!! The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in between. Ideally you’ll be sprinting or cycling full throttle for 30 seconds with a 90 second cool down in between each outburst.
