Avatar f tn m going to be 24 weeks tomorrow and I have an appointment for the 3h glucose tolerance test. Its my 4th time since I am pregnant. Just because one of my results was not normal. I wonder why the doctor dont start to treat me for high glucose , instead I have to do this over and over again.... I am so tired of fasting and doing this test.... anyone in a similar situation?
Avatar n tn I'm a 53 year old woman who just had a 3 hour glucose tolerance test, here are my results: Fasting - 106 1 hour - 210 2 hour - 230 3 hour - 167 I'm not sure if these results mean I'm a pre-diabetic or diabetic. Thank you for your help in advance.
Avatar f tn So I did my 1 hour glucose tolerance last week and got my results today. Kinda upset...they came back abnormal. They like for the glucose to be under 140 and mine was 164. About 3 hours after drinking the glucola last week my sugar dropped to 42, luckily I'm a nurse and noticed what was going on and immediately checked my sugar and then ate. But anyway...I go back on Friday to do my 3 hour glucose and am so nervous it is going to come back positive too.
Avatar n tn 2 hour results. They were much higher than the normal ranges. Does this mean I have insulin resistance?
Avatar f tn Impaired Glucose Tolerance A person is said to have impaired glucose tolerance when the 2-hour glucose results from the oral glucose tolerance test are greater than or equal to 140 but less than 200 mg/dl. This is also considered a risk factor for future diabetes. There has recently been discussion about lowering the upper value to 180 mg/dl to diagnose more mild diabetes to allow earlier intervention and hopefully prevention of diabetic complications.

Avatar f tn t like the drink either but got it all down. Lol with the one hour I was shaky after and the 3 hour one I did with my son I was really shaky after. This time I wasn't at all. Thank goodness! Hoping for a good report tomorrow!
5864651 tn?1396931970 Ugh I hate that test. I have to take the 3hour this time instead of the 1 hour(I took the 1 hour 3 times already). I heard that you have to drink this sugary drink then every hour for 3 hours they draw your blood. During the 1 hour you havent 5 minutes to drink the drink it I hear you gotta drink it faster during 3 hour.
Avatar f tn If its a bit high anything over 110 I believe you must go back to do a 3 hour glucose. If it is found that your sugar remains high. You have Gestational Diabetes which only occurs during pregnancy, but could be dangerous to your baby. So your doctor will order you on a strict diet. Good Luck!!!
Avatar f tn A few days ago I mentioned having almost passed my 1-hour GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test) and they wanted me to do 3-hour. Technically my 1-hour one was FINE but whatever. Results from the 3-hour are that I'm in the normal range. Technically my doctor has seen the results yet so he hasn't given the "all clear" but I'm pretty sure all is well. He may ask me to eat a more restricted diet, just to be safe, because PCOS can cause some diabetic issues.
Avatar f tn I just got my glucose test results back by checking them online. Well since the doctor hasn't called me yet (cause its after hours) I was hoping someone on here would be able to help me. It says my result is 67. And the value is "normal glucose tolerance level". Anyone know if this means I passed?? Im too anxious to wait till tomorrow to know.
Avatar n tn Adrenaline raises glucose levels by stimulating the liver to change glycogen into glucose. When normal glucose regulation fails with type 2 diabetics, the kidneys are forced to remove excess glucose via the urinary tract. This usually is caused by insulin deficiency. In your case this does not apply. I have read that one of the common symptoms of POTS is reactive hypoglycemia, lowering of glucose.
Avatar f tn I had to take the 3 hour glucose test and I felt sick all day. I passed though, so it was worth it!
1253246 tn?1332073310 What would one look for on the lab results that I get every 3 months for hep c that could be an indicator for pre-diabetes or diabetes????
Avatar f tn the day before my 1 hour glucouse i ate 1 cinnabon and a caramel frappuccino from starbucks and i failed my test so i had to go back again and do the 3 hour glucose you get blood drawn 4 times in 3 hours and you need to stay there the whole time also you cant drink or eat anything for 8 hours before and then the 3 hours for the test not even water.. Thank god I did pass the 3 hour though but im sure i didnt pass the 1 hour because of all the sugar i ate the day before..
403153 tn?1297254495 After 1 hour my glucose level was 6.7 mmol/l (normal less than 7.8). That means I don`t need the 3 hour test (Glucose tolerance diagnostic test). Now I can be calm.
1057195 tn?1289363329 Hi ladies, have anyone taken the glucose tolerance test as yet. I am scheduled to have mines on the 29 of April. At my last vist my OB said I have glucose in my urine. She said it could be because I had just eaten before my visit. Has this happened to anyone?
508203 tn?1233234804 I just had my glucose tolerance test (the 3 hr one because I failed the 1st one), and I was fine during the test, towards the end I got restless and cold. But about an hour after it was all finished I have gotten very very nauseous and have a horrible headache. I feel so sick it's unbelievable!! I just want to know whether it is normal to feel really sick after to test? I have eaten, I thought that would help. Has this happened to anyone? Does it mean that I may have gestational diabetes?
Avatar f tn I did one with diet.. and the next with insulin.. it wasn't that bad.. don't worry.
