24 hour urine test protein levels

Has anyone else ever had to do a 24 hour urine collection test? Im 13 weeks pregnant with my 4th child and ive never had to do this test before its got me kinda stressed.

I am 37/4 and I am doing the 24 hour urine test because I had protein in my urine. I was wondering how does this all work, will I be induced if they find it again?

Well because I have protein in my urine, my bp was high but has now gone stable.. They did one 24 hour collection to get the exact level of protein. They have a cut off point of 0.30 and mine came in at 0.29 and seeing as it was so close to the cut off point I have to repeat it to see if it's now gone down or higher..

Have any of you had to do a 24 hour urine collection test to check for high blood pressure ? My ob wants the test to make sure I don't end up.with pre eclampsia. The thing I don't understand is I'm only 15 weeks and I didn't have this test with my first son. Also how can they tell from urine?

My nephrologist ordered a random routine Urine test and a 24 hour urine protein test. Both the tests came back normal. The urine routine also tested for nitrates and bilirubin and they are absent too. The urine specfic gravity and pH are normal too. This test however does not check Calcium levels. The 24 hour test says that over a 24 hour period my kidneys let out 25.5 mg of protein in 1.5 litres of urine. I was measured my fluid intake on the day of test to be 1.0 litre.

Now they gave me a jug to put all my urine in for the next 24 hours to see my protein levels. I have NEVER heard of this before.. Has anyone had this done or heard about it?? Also, what are the outcomes of high blood pressure during pregnancy? And if I start eating right can I bring it down quickly? Any answers please?

for the past few weeks i either have had traces of protein or protein in my urine...so i will do the 24 hour urine test...what are they checking for? i assume it cant be for pre-eclampsia since i always have perfect blood preasure. the doctor was very short and i didnt get to ask any questions. has anyone else had to do this and what were they checking for ...and what did it turn out to be????????????????????????

I did, I had to do a 24 hour urine test, where I collected my urine refrigerated it and brought it in, everything was fine.

Which is high levels of protein in ur urine and it also cause high bp. They will do many cath samples of urine and if it gets to bad the will induce labor. but they monitor u because if ur bp becomes a problem they can give u meds in ur iv when u deliver to bring it down.

The spinal was cancelled for unrelated reasons. My 24 hour urine test came back with high protein and blood in the urine (this has been on-going for years). My neurologist had a fit and ordered this test. See results above. I was diagnosed with White Matter Disease after two years of MRI results. The Spinal was because of suspicion of Multiple Sclerosis. I did have the Lumbar Puncture this past Tuesday and no results yet.

Hi i am 32 female i had a Hysterectomy a little over a year ago with many Complications i still have my Ovaries. anyway for tha past year i have had a many test s showing that my protein in my urine are very hi ? plus i get up through the nihgt to pee at least 4-6 times a night and about every 6 months i get a very strong urine smell but after all the test they still say there is nothing worng and my levels are not high enough yet to send me to a speacilist?

When blood and protein are persistently in the urine, have him evaluated further by a kidney specialist or a nephrologist. A 24 hour urine test may be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.

m doing the 24 hour urine collection. My bp has steadily been rising but is only elevated slightly and not high. They are talking about inducing me thursday too... for some reason I get the feeling they are doing it just to induce me so I don't have the baby on Christmas because I don't have symptoms of preeclampsia besides them telling me I have protein.

It indicates a decreased kidney function. Please ask your doctor to carry out repeated microscopic urinalysis and 24 hour urine collection if there's protein involved.

I’ve had elevated calcium since January and my PTH is in the normal range although higher than yours. I’ve also been worried about cancer. The parathyroid specialist I’m seeing ran some cancer tests but not nearly as thorough as your tests. I had a 4D CT scan of the parathyroid and it did show an adenoma. I think you should see a parathyroid specialist if you can. You can still have hyperparathyroidism with a normal PTH.

I saw my family doctor yesterday and he is having me do a 24 hour urine collection test. Later in the day the specialist who ordered the tests also called and will be seeing me next Friday at 4. Hopefully the 24 urine test results will be ready in time for the appointment. Overall my family doctor did not seem too concerned by it. The urine, no. Blood test is for PT-PTT, your ability to clot. If you are way,way slow on clotting they will choose a method besides needle biopsy or delay it.

My friend had high levels of protein in her urine. She had to do a 24 pee test, the doctors told her she got the protein from eating to many bananas and the high levels of potassium are what did it for her. You may just have to much of that, but I would follow up with your doc!

I had protein in my urine. My OB recommended I do a 24 hour urine catch and about two weeks later I had to do another. Their lab tested them and my second levels were higher than my first. Because of that, a significant amount of swelling, sparkles in my vision, and GD, they induced me a week before my DD. They were afraid I would get high blood pressure and develop preeclampsia.
