Avatar n tn I'm a 53 year old woman who just had a 3 hour glucose tolerance test, here are my results: Fasting - 106 1 hour - 210 2 hour - 230 3 hour - 167 I'm not sure if these results mean I'm a pre-diabetic or diabetic. Thank you for your help in advance.
Avatar f tn 1 hr test is not so bad, they take blood then you drink the glucose drink and then in an hr one more blood draw! I failed my 1 hr so had to do the 3 hr, and that one it is hard!!
8585833 tn?1399748005 I failed my 1 hour test and my 3 hour test as well... I also didn't have any symptoms..
Avatar f tn So I did my 1 hour glucose tolerance last week and got my results today. Kinda upset...they came back abnormal. They like for the glucose to be under 140 and mine was 164. About 3 hours after drinking the glucola last week my sugar dropped to 42, luckily I'm a nurse and noticed what was going on and immediately checked my sugar and then ate. But anyway...I go back on Friday to do my 3 hour glucose and am so nervous it is going to come back positive too.
5864651 tn?1396931970 Ugh I hate that test. I have to take the 3hour this time instead of the 1 hour(I took the 1 hour 3 times already). I heard that you have to drink this sugary drink then every hour for 3 hours they draw your blood. During the 1 hour you havent 5 minutes to drink the drink it I hear you gotta drink it faster during 3 hour.
Avatar n tn I had a glucose tolerance test and an insulin fasting (drinking the glucose drink) blood test done. I have seen my results but have not had them interpreted for me. My glucose fasting results came back within normal range but my insulin fasting results came back out of range for the 0,1, & 2 hour results. They were much higher than the normal ranges. Does this mean I have insulin resistance?
Avatar f tn m going to be 24 weeks tomorrow and I have an appointment for the 3h glucose tolerance test. Its my 4th time since I am pregnant. Just because one of my results was not normal. I wonder why the doctor dont start to treat me for high glucose , instead I have to do this over and over again.... I am so tired of fasting and doing this test.... anyone in a similar situation?
Avatar f tn Yeah im having the 1 hour one nd i guess thats why they didnt ask me to fast,, yeah i would die if i cant eat for that long lol
403153 tn?1297254495 I past the Glucose challenge screening test (1 hour test with 50 gr glucose). After 1 hour my glucose level was 6.7 mmol/l (normal less than 7.8). That means I don`t need the 3 hour test (Glucose tolerance diagnostic test). Now I can be calm.
Avatar f tn Impaired Glucose Tolerance A person is said to have impaired glucose tolerance when the 2-hour glucose results from the oral glucose tolerance test are greater than or equal to 140 but less than 200 mg/dl. This is also considered a risk factor for future diabetes. There has recently been discussion about lowering the upper value to 180 mg/dl to diagnose more mild diabetes to allow earlier intervention and hopefully prevention of diabetic complications.
Avatar f tn 8, so I had to do the 2 hour glucose test. I ended up throwing up halfway through the 2 hour glucose test and the doc sent me to the diabetes counsellor for precautionary measures. After about 2 weeks of testing my blodd te doc let me retake the 2 hour test and my levels came back perfect and i dont have to see the diabetes doc anymore!
Avatar n tn I have had sympotms of diabetes for a few year, but not being familar withthe illness I did not recognize them. They starting gettin more sever ( extream dry moth, mental foginess, shaking, vomiting) so I went to the Dr. They tested my fasting glucose levels in the office (finger *****) and it was 227. I was immedicately sent to a lab for blood work. My gloucose level came back at 80. That was w/in half an hour. A week later I returned to the Dr. office they said I was "normal".
Avatar f tn Here's my 2 cents. Your glucose [blood sugar] levels are unusual. Normally, levels increase and plateau around the 1 hrs mark much higher than what you posted. At 2hrs normal people usually see <120 mg/dl, then at 3 hrs between 70-99 mg/dl. What I didn't see mentioned was if you were tested prior to the OGTT [Oral Glucose Tolerance Test]. W/o knowing I'm just guessing that It appears as if you were in a hypoglycemic state when you took the test.
Avatar f tn A few days ago I mentioned having almost passed my 1-hour GTT (Glucose Tolerance Test) and they wanted me to do 3-hour. Technically my 1-hour one was FINE but whatever. Results from the 3-hour are that I'm in the normal range. Technically my doctor has seen the results yet so he hasn't given the "all clear" but I'm pretty sure all is well. He may ask me to eat a more restricted diet, just to be safe, because PCOS can cause some diabetic issues.
Avatar f tn I did one with diet.. and the next with insulin.. it wasn't that bad.. don't worry.
Avatar f tn I just got my glucose test results back by checking them online. Well since the doctor hasn't called me yet (cause its after hours) I was hoping someone on here would be able to help me. It says my result is 67. And the value is "normal glucose tolerance level". Anyone know if this means I passed?? Im too anxious to wait till tomorrow to know.
Avatar f tn I had to take the 3 hour glucose test and I felt sick all day. I passed though, so it was worth it!
