512442 tn?1216259500 to avoid the grossness of putting yogurt on your hoo-ha, try yogurt pills (acidophillus) or buy AZO Yeast, I've used AZO Yeast pills for all my yeast infections and it relieves it in a day or two. These pills are a combination of natural herbs and yogurt cultures and it balances your vaginal PH. That stuff is awesome, it relieves the itching and burning in a couple of hours too. Yogurt is ok but doesn't work as fast.
Avatar f tn Summers eve and vagisil would be better than soap and water. Soap can dry out the skin and also mess with PH balance which can cause yeast infections. That's the whole reason these washes were created. They are specially formulated for that area and are great!
Avatar f tn With my last preg I had at least 2 yeast infections. I found washing with vagisil ph balance worked. Avoid sugar. Multiple infections can be a sign of GD. Have you had your glucose test yet?
Avatar f tn I believe they are common during pregnancy and yes your bf doing his business in there could be a factor... I don't get yeast infections but I get really irritated down there after sex.
Avatar f tn Sometimes it takes a double course of the oral and topical anti biotics to clear up nasty thrush infections.
Avatar f tn Actually yes antibiotics cause yeast infections so it's possible. I know your dr is a pain but id shoot them a call in the morning.
Avatar f tn I am diabetic and I am prone to yeast infections so I had to ask in case. They told me pro b for prevention and Monistat 1 not the 1 day but 3 or 7 and do not insert more than an inch. I hope this helps.
Avatar f tn They can cause yeast infections. Also oral sex can cause yeast infections if your partners mouth has a high population of yeast. The pH of your vagina may be off as well. Vagisil has an over the counter screening kit to test pH. If you have only tried over the counter stuff for your infections you need to go see a doctor to get it straightened out! Good luck!
Avatar f tn With the smell sometimes when guys have dirty hands and they mess around down there they can cause bacteria infections or yeast might be the problem. Just make an appt with the ob/gyn and it should be cleared up if it is an infection with some antibiotics, cream or suppository. No worries.
Avatar f tn It gives me really bad yeast infections. And from what I understand it won't do anything to the baby but it'll throw off your ph balance and you will be more likely for yeast infections. Those suck!
Avatar f tn s choice was strange for a yeast infection. Just being honest with that. Yeast infections are common when you take antibiotics because the antibiotic kills off all bacteria, good and bad. And women then get a shift in their vaginal PH and yeast starts to grow and grow. And we all know yeast infections can be super SUPER annoying! As if the UTI wasn't bad enough, right?
Avatar f tn Is anybody getting yeast infections as often as you cure them? Im 6 months pregnant and I have never had this many yeast infections in my life. I only bathe with dial soap and the doctor said I shouldnt take baths, nothing but showers. Can anybody help me with some remedies or something to help with the yeast infections ??
Avatar f tn The first day I felt itchy on the lip area, after a few days, itching turned onto burning irritation. Discharges of yeast infections are oderless. You should get it checked anyway just to be sure.
290018 tn?1240365868 i read that oral meds are not safe during pregnancy for yeast infections and I also read that azole creams are safer than others...
1394601 tn?1328032308 Vagisil is not a great solution for a yeast infection. The source of the yeast is the bowel which has an overgrowth of yeast with the antibiotic knocking the good beneficial bacteria out of balance and allowing the yeast to overgrow. So, Vagisil alone can't keep the area from continually being re-inoculated.
Avatar f tn Sweetie, why the dramatic thoughts over a yeast infection? Every single woman on the face of the planet gets one from time to time. Men do too! Yep, they can get yeast and fungal issues just like we can. Babies get them!!! It's just a shift in your ph that causes an overgrowth of yeast. You can get them in your vagina, your mouth, etc. NOT a big deal. Not related to sex or being sexual. We can get them from taking antibiotics even. Really, not a big deal.
Avatar f tn I am a 28yr old female and have experianced yeast infections before, but this last time was worse than ever before! I do have a tendency to form yeast infections if required to take antibiotics. Recently I was perscribed penecillin and a steriod for 10 days to treat strepthroat... Within a matter of 2 days I felt better, but had started experiancing a large breakout of acne on my face!
Avatar n tn I had a uti and my doctor prescribed me medicene and I took it and now my doctor said the medicene caused a yeast infection. Does anyone know any over the counter medicenes that are safe to use ? Im 20 weeks pregnant.
Avatar f tn Yep, it does sound like a yeast infection. Yeast infections really don't smell a lot. The hallmark sign is itching. They do often produce a profuse discharge that is chunky but not always. And that burning is also very common with yeast infections. They can be quite uncomfortable. If you've never had one, they say they want a doctor to see you to diagnose officially. Planned Parenthood can do this or your regular GP or Gyn.
Avatar m tn Hi, You could try a screening kit made by Vagisil. They sell it over the counter and it will tell you if you have a yeast infection, BV (Bacterial Vaginosis), or an STD and/or need to see a doctor. That way you can make sure what it is and get the proper meds to treat same. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Use the monistat!!! I've never had yeast infections until this pregnancy, and it itched like crazy!! Use it & I also used vagisil cream bc I also itched at night! It helped a lot!!! Drink lots of water and stay away from sugar!!! Hope u feel better! I know the pain!!

My discharge seems to be either watery at times or white and with a sticky consistency..(no smell) sometimes it seems like my pelvic bone is achy (that's the only way I can describe it)...im not in pain it just feels weird..sometimes like a dull achiness..im not sexually active and my periods are regular but could I have a possible pelvic infection? .
Avatar f tn Are uti and yeast infections common in pregnant women? If so this *****...I think I have a yeast infection...I have never had 1 before...and my friend said since I and pregnant I can't use the otc stuff. I have to wait for my doc. Grr..it hurts. Avatar f tn I just finished my second course of antibiotics on Thursday and have a horrible infections again already. My skin is pasty white, my eyes have huge black circles, so i look a little like Elvira, without the long hair, which is mostly down my shower drain right now. But I don't even care about that stuff. I would just love to get rid of the sinus infections and mouth sores. On Week 5 of victrellis, 31 more weeks to go.
6725113 tn?1392847526 I do its too much..
Avatar f tn So, yeast infections happen because of an overgrowth of yeast in the vagina. It's really that simple. They make over the counter medication to treat it such as Monostat one day ovule which works well for me. Symptoms include itching and often clumpy (but not always) discharge. There usually really isn't an odor. You can always go to a doctor to have them swab your discharge to confirm yeast and they also can prescribe a tablet that you take that gets rid of it.
Avatar f tn Do the Azo urinary pills just prevent UTIs or do you know if they can help get rid of yeast infections too? Also, do I have to put the entire pre-filled Monistat cream in me or can I just use half of it? If it wasn't obvious, I'm new to this whole cream treatment. I will have to try the vagisil and wipes. Once again, thanks for your advice!
