Yeast infection in your belly button

Common Questions and Answers about Yeast infection in your belly button

yeast-infection

Avatar f tn While antibacterial soap helps by keeping it clean, it does not get rid of the yeast. Yeast is a fungal infection, and you will need to use a topical to kill the fungus. It would be a good idea to go to a doctor for a prescription cream. Make sure that you keep your navel clean and dry. If you work out or are doing activity that causes you to sweat, make sure to dry your navel, or it will come back. Try not to wear clothing that is constricting around the navel.
Avatar n tn I thought it was a yeast infection or something, since people said you can get those in your navel, but I have never had a yeast infection *anywhere*, so wasn't sure. Usually, when I find that it has been "leaking" I swab it out with water, then with hydrogen peroxide. The peroxide always bubbles and fizzes, and recently, I have been experiencing sharp pain inside my belly button and a burning, itching sensation that last for some time after using the peroxide.
Avatar n tn I went 6 weeks without knowing I had a yeast infection and my belly button was so painful! I went to the ER and checked it out and the dr got mad at me and said that I ws very lucky that nothing is wrong with my baby.
Avatar f tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be due to yeast infection of the belly button or due to some other fungal infection. Fungal infections often present with bad smell or odor. Keep the area clean and with a clean dry ear bud gently clean the navel. Also apply some mild steroid cream like dermacort and antifungal cream like clotrimazole and see if it helps. If the symptoms persist then oral antifungal drugs may be needed. Please consult a dermatologist in that case.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend cleaned his belly button out with a Q tip a few days ago & now his belly button is red with little blister on it & is draining a clear fluid, can anyone tell me whats up with that???
Avatar f tn I am a 40 year old mother of four, married for 21 years. 7 weeks ago I started to have pain in my belly button during orgasms, the pain got worse each time and I had to completely stop enjoying sex. I went to my Gyno who told me I had cysts in the uterus ( they did ultra sound) but with birth control medication it would go away. Well it didn’t. I changed gyno.
Avatar f tn I've never heard of the belly button leaking. Maybe a yeast infection in there? That's the only thing I can think of that might cause whitish stuff in there.
Avatar f tn For a year now discomofort in R iliac crest (same side as biopsy) with swelling on the outside of hip (where you would hold your hand on hip) sometimes discomfort closer to belly button. I looked deformed on R side (visible swelling for the past few months). I saw several doctors that do not want to examine this area (gyn, orthopedic surgeon). I start to feel more and more discomfort especially when standing up.
Avatar f tn and oh also i have and this yeast infection in my belly button for like 2 years the doctor gave me some medicine but i never went and got it, yea dumb i know! but what can happen? can it go to the vagina too? what would happen then?
Avatar f tn I have clear fluid in my belly button. The belly button is red inside and sore. It's been like this for 2 days now. I've been using q-tips and alcohol wipes to clean it. When it's not wet or full of fluid it gets crusty inside. There is also a very bad smell. I'm the kind of person to only go to the Dr. if I know for sure I need to. If I can do something to take care of this without going I would much rather. What should I do?
Avatar f tn Okay so a few weeks ago i was casually scratching my stomach when i poked into my belly button and something small hard and white came out. Honestly to me i would say it looked like a tomato seed but a bit smaller and it had little hairs attached to it also my belly button had a bad smell to it. Today though again i decided to poke into my belly button and the same small white hard clump with little hairs fell out.
573351 tn?1246317814 I have a red rash in my belly button and on both breast but it is localized to the aereolas only, it does not extend out. My breasts do not itch at all, my belly button does midly from time to time. Not even bad enough that I want to scartch it. I had the same rash this winter, but just on the aereolas at that time, not belly button. No discharge at all. Any ideas??
Avatar m tn Also usually infections in the belly button area are fungal in origin and so antifungals are the best treatment. I would suggest oral antifungals if the symptoms persist. I hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted.
776309 tn?1235565959 t really even have to put it deep in the belly button. It has eliminated the smell and stays relatively dry.
Avatar f tn I know this is kinda gross hut does anyone have belly button discharge? I have an inner one and ever since I've been pregnant when I clean it (which I do everyday now) a white yellow smelly discharge is on the q tip.. anyone have this problem? It doesn't hurt at all.
1065232 tn?1254879191 if your frightened at the momment, although im not a medical expert,im just trying to rule out the basics...like how old are u? do u have a piercing in your belly button? how long has it gone on for? cysts, boils and general infections could be to blame.all treatable.try not to worry an think the worst..good luck.
Avatar f tn Sounds like a bacterial or yeast infection. Get in there with a q-tip and alcohol the way you clean out a baby's belly button, and it will dry up.
Avatar f tn Yea I would talk to your Dr.
Avatar f tn t stop bc the antibiotics you have to take for BV can easily cause a yeast infection and the yogart puts probiotics in you to fight off the yeast....I had BV and yeast infection 1.
Avatar f tn If you have a tank top and lowrise pants or shorts, wear those to allow your belly button to be exposed to the air, when possible. Do not use over-the-counter ointments on it, as these may be wrong for what you have. Please do not swim until this is healed: bacteria could enter the water and be dangerous for other swimmers or even wildlife if you swim in a river or lake.
Avatar f tn Okay so im only 16 weeks pregnant and in the last week or so there has been this pain inside my belly button and in the last 2 days this weird yellowish liquid started coming out of my belly button. I have already been to the doctors and he said it looks like an infection. I dont know what to do and im a little worried because i dont know if its normal.
Avatar m tn Well, I've had this Belly Button "Redness" problem for a while. I've tried cupping water to my belly button for like 30+ minutes and that doesnt seem to help the redness go away. I've also tried moisturizer but that doesn't seem to help either. Here are some pictures, and hopefully somebody can tell me what they think is wrong and what I can do to make this go away. http://i49.tinypic.com/2nquzja.jpg http://i48.tinypic.com/epqjrs.jpg http://i50.tinypic.
Avatar m tn I believe it is just a little infection. If you have an "inny" belly button, then water sweat or what ever can get stuck in there. Where there is a moist, warm area there is going to be bacteria. But a little Neosporin(triple antibiotic cream) in there and in a couple of days it will be better.
13324967 tn?1429471778 I have and it for a couple years.
Avatar n tn I told her I wanted her to touch her belly button instead. I explained I would remind her to touch her belly button to help her learn the new behavior. When I remind her, she quickly touches her belly button and then smiles at me. I've been reinforcing her verbally when she touches her belly button. However, she continues to touch her privates continually as though she is not aware that she's doing it.
Avatar f tn Umbilical fistulas are narrow tubes the outer skin with anything inside like intestine, mesentry etc. Boils in the umbilicus can also burst and release blood and pus. In your case there appears to a severe infection, that could either be an abscess or a fistula. Please do not delay treatment. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
