I was told I may have genital herpes. I developed a yeast infection while taking antibiotics for a sinus infection, unfortunately I didn't realize what it was and waited 5 days to go see a doctor. the last 2 days before I was seen urination was severely painful and my entire genital area was red and swollen. The day I saw the doctor I had blisters some of which had burst and were open. The doctor did no testing just diagnosed me with a yeast infection and herpes.
Let me describe me my present penis condition! am under going yeast infection medicines for 1 month consulting a Dermatologist! When i pull out the fore skin of my penis i find some blackish or reddish colour changes!! and also at the end of the penis shaft there is violet colour changes and it disappears when i put medicines and apply anti fungal cream! only during the night time it seems to be colour changing!! Is it only yeast infection or any other bacterial infected??Please help me!!
I took 5 days of Valtrex and then I took it one more time for five days when I had itching which could have been a yeast infection or HSV. Then I took no more Valtrex until the 8th month after the first test. I had developed chronic itching facial and vaginal itching so I was prescribed suppressive Valtrex for a year. I was retested at 19 months. The igGs were negative. I was tested at 22 months, the igGs were negative. I stopped taking Valtrex.
Dr.- I had protected sex with stripper and the day after i noticed a burn at the tip of my penis not when i peed. I had the burn for about 4 days it went away. It came back 3 days later, my doctor gave me lavaquin for 3 days it did nothing. At the end of 3 days i had a red rash on my foreskin, now i remember seeing this rash before the incident and the day after the incident. I quickly put alcohol on it and it turned red so i put neosporene on it and the next day it was not red anymore.
I came down with what I thought was a yeast infection. I had all the common symptoms, discharge, itching, etc. I used Monistat and Diflucan which seemed to treat it, and saw my doctor for further STD testing just to be sure. She confirmed that it appeared to be a nasty yeast infection and the STD tests I had done all came back negative (except HSV1 of course). About 4 weeks later I had what I thought was another yeast infection.
My question is after this current outbreak, I am really dry inside after the blisters healed, and I get itchy inside like with a yeast infection. Is this just a side effect of the herpes or could it be something else?
s a good chance what you think is an outbreak is actually a yeast infection - have you been seen when symptomatic to test for yeast? All the more reason that Valtex isn't working if it's not a herpes outbreak!
Fucicort is a corticosteroid cream, which would not help a herpes outbreak. Typically, it would not be recommended to be used on the genital area.
Is it normal to get a recurrence so often? I am prone to yeast infections, does this mean I will be getting them every time I have a recurrence? Now I am concerned about HIV, I got tested for that about two days after I had the last sexual encounter and the result was negative but I can not get that out of my head. What do yo think about the difference in the medications acyclovir and Vatrex? My insurance does not cover much for Valtrex which I am taking as a suppressive medication.
She said that the antibiotics probably gave me a yeast infection and perscribed me a 1 day yeaast infection pill with a 3 day cream to insert at night. The first night i inserted the cream and when i woke up in the morning i didnt feel any relief. As the day went on i began to have painful burning/itching/soreness that i thought was from the cream. When i got home from work a few hours later i noticed lesions all over my vagina again.
Now I am pregnant and my OB thought I had yeast infection and prescribed metronidazole vaginal gel .75% for 5 days. (no testing to confirm what type of infection-just visual examination) I got better then got worse with itching, pain and she prescribed monostat....but then I examined myself closer and realized it was my first re-outbreak of the HSV2. I had minor spotting and went to see my OB and she confirmed what I already knew. She told me to double my valtrex for 10 days.
I went to the doctor he says it could be that I am indirectly tensed during sex and emotionally not ready for sex when I am there, he also said it most likely could be a possible yeast infection again, and lastly he said he has heard of an urethra infection caused by HSV. I also had a pimple/bump on my buttock. He took a culture of that as well. Althought the pimple looks innocent, at least to me.What do you guys think?
he just put me on valtrex. im starting to think its a yeast infection because a lot of the symptoms say its a yeast infection too and i took the at home spit test for the yeast infection and it did everything it said it would do if i had a yeast infection. idk im going back tomorrow to find out whats going on.
On and off, I had to avoid sex with him because of the yeast infections. A week and a half ago, I was treated for a yeast infection. I felt that the symptoms were gone, but the doctor said she could still see that I had it, and gave me a prescription. Five days passed, and I had no symptoms. I thought it would alright to have sex. My boyfriend and I had sex, and things felt fine. Ten minutes passed afterwards, that I felt alright.
t come in for another 4 days, so my question is could I go to the pharmacy and get an over the counter yeast infection cream like Monistat or something and try to treat the yeast infection while I am taking acyclovir? Would it interfere with anything else going on? I don't have a primary care doctor so I got tested at a walk-in clinic, so asking my doctor about a simple question like this isn't ideal. Any input would be great thank you!
If your symptoms are now improving with Diflucan, and since they didn't respond to Valtrex, a yeast infection is the best bet. Let us know what your gyn says.
I went to my gyne the next day and he said everything looked normal and that I had a yeast infection. I also took some valtrex the first night because I was paranoid. I have cold sores. Been taking 2 gms of valtrex for the last 3.5 days. I also have been rubbing vagisil on the area and it still remains inflammed. I have decided to get off of the antibiotics since all of this began after I took them.
After 2 months of Cipro, Valtrex and Cortsol for Epstein Barr virus, I developed acute bladder infection. I was treated with Levaquin for 1 month. At the tail end of my Cipro/Valtrex/Cortisol tretment and prior to the bladder infection the tip of my penis began to be constantly in pain (as if sand paper had been rubbed on the tip. This was 8 months ago! The pain has been constant. In addition pain in my lower left quadrant began to spread and my abdomen became very distented.

Just curious, do yeast infections cause more outbreaks? I've never had a yeast infection. Another question i had was my outbreaks now tend to occur above my butt crack. Is it still possible to transmit it if i have sex with a condom since the outbreak is not vaginal?
I was in a previous relationship for 4 years without Valtrex and didnt use condoms and my partner was never infected.
my dr prescribed me 1g valtrex for a week. it didnt go away. i went to a dermatologist and she said that the valtrex 1g should have worked and she doesnt believe its herpes.she gave me diflucan 150 and it went away. 2 weeks later it came back. i was now convinced its herpes. i went to an obgyn and she saw lots of discharge and told me i have yeast. i took diflucan again. it went away. again it came back, burning sensation, stinging. my lesions are in the same place inside my labia minora.
Chances are you are not the cause since your encounter was protected. Comdoms work very well in stopping transmission of STD's.
