Metrogel not working

Common Questions and Answers about Metrogel not working

metrogel

Avatar f tn It would go away and come back, not sure what it was. I did so much research online and I believe I have steriod induced periocular dermatitis. I went to my doctor and he was totally uninformed about it. My doctor perscribed me Metrogel 0.75. I have been using it since Jan 18th 2010 (last month). For the most part I have been clear, however I still see some LIGHT red areas like they are fading away. Have I not used it long enough?
Avatar f tn I've been using metrogel for a few months now for a place on my cheek. It's finally clearing up, but my entire face was scratched up today, including the area I typically treat with metrogel. Is the metrogel safe to use on fresh scratches and sores to continue treatment. If so, would it be good to also put the metrogel on my entire face to help with all the scratch marks?
Avatar f tn Thank you so very much for your response, I am truly grateful! It has now been 13 days on the Doxycycline (of a 30 day cycle total ) and 4 days applying the Metronidazole 0.75% gel only at night, once a day. Thankfully, there has been much improvement since then. So far, no more flareups, hardly any itching only when my skin gets too dry, and during the day when I don't use the Metrogel, my skin is not as red anymore (more pink or normal in color) or bumpy.
Avatar f tn The NP precribed metrogel for 5 days at bedtime. I havent found the courage to take it yet, because its inserted vaginally. The warning states its a category B and can be passed through the placenta. Has anyone else taken metrogel during their pregnancy? If so wad everything ok?
Avatar f tn Im 6 weeks and 3 days pregnant with my 3rd baby, this is the first time ive been diagnosed with BV, the hospital prescribed me flagyl for the infection, I asked the pharmacies if it was safe the pharmacists told me theres no guarantee that its not harmfull since it passes thru the placenta, when i seen my widwive she told me it wasnt recommend in the 1st trimester, but didnt instuct me to stop taking it but after reading about it i decided to stop it after 3 days of use, has and mother on here
Avatar f tn I went to dermatologist who told me I have sensitive skin with some broken capillaries and prescribed metrogel , which did nothing for me. Metrogel is prescribed for rosacea , but I never had any serious redness, just the normal flushing sometimes like everybody else in the world. Right now I have burning face pain and very oily skin , but no redness at all. Could I be allergic to something or is it something else?
Avatar f tn it's not unusual at all for bv to come back over and over again. continue to be seen every time you have discharge for proper testing. if the oral treatment for bv isn't working for you, ask your provider for the vaginal metrogel instead. it's been shown to alter the vagina's ph and keep bv away longer than the pills do. do you have a regular partner? do you use condoms?
Avatar f tn s own and is gone confirmed 2 times by doctor.I was given metrogel I used 1 dose and had difficulty breathing headache and tremors.so the doc said stop med. Then went to see a gyno specialist and she said same bv and she removed a polyp from cervix it was benign she also told me I tested positive for urea plasma all my other std test are negative.HIv neg.no chlamydia, gonorrhea, trichomonosis all negative.she prescribed metrogel and doxycycline I tried the metro gel was taken off.
Avatar m tn I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away. Later the doctors found a lesion on my liver, for which I was treated with Metronidazole (Metrogel) injections, and later metrogel tablets. Recent CT scan shows "a cystic lesion on the liver, measuring 4x3.5 cms with a smooth enhancing wall seen in segment IV.
Avatar m tn Treatment is by metronidazole((Flagyl, MetroGel) and clindamycin (Cleocin). They are available as pills or vaginal gels or creams. Please do not use any vaginal douches. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone...Recently I have been having several problems with the skin on my face. Up until about a year ago I had absolutely flawless skin. I'm 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Has anyone experienced a full face full of acne for a prolonged period after starting Arimidex for breast cancer treatment? It is my friend who had breast cancer and she is blind and wants me to write for her. She also has Lupus but she has seen a dermatologist and rheumatologist and they dismiss it as acne. She knows she is out of remission with discoid lupus but she also has systemic lupus. But they assured her the 'acne" is not lupus breakout.
Avatar n tn I have been treated in the past with dry ice treatmtents. Recently I have been prescribed Minocin, and Metrogel. The metrogel seems to burn my skin. Does laser work for Rosacea? It is $1,800 for the treatment. I am 54 years old and recently had my thyroid removed due to cancer. Could my Synthroid meds be aggravating this condition. Could these blisters be facial herpes, shingles. I have had this for about 6 months. I can't get into a dermatologist until September. Help!
Avatar m tn Maybe for a day or two but then swtich right back to the Elidel or Sodium or Metrogel or some combo. And I repeat, at least according to my derms, do not be afraid to use Elidel if it works for you as it has many of the same benefits of a topical steroid without the rebound or potential for steroid rosacea. Ive probably left a lot out, but I've posted a lot on this topic in the past and maybe you can do a search.
Avatar f tn No not yet i have an app in a couple of days
1415174 tn?1453243103 My triggers are hot temperature and not sure what else. I am allergic to Metrogel. I have Metrocream. I tested it on my arm and then face on the chin and didn't blow up like I did with Metrogel. But I also don't like the idea of having to use a low dose antibiotic and the side effects are not so good at least in the package insert. Is there anything else I can do? I don't really put much cream on my face except when I use the Finacea. I don't like the feeling of goo on my face.
Avatar f tn m asking because I have recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections - i have tried metrogel, flagyll tindamax, clindesse, i have it again.. I bought plain yogurt and mixed it with acidophillous powder and inserting it using a metrogel applicator at night, I always wear a liner because of bv anyway, but there is a LOT of discharge. Am I doing this right? has anyone else had good results with this method? how long should it take for symptoms to go away.
Avatar f tn I have a yeast infection might start my period soon and im on Fluconazole and metronidazole (2 pills 72 hours apart and metrogel for 5 days once every bed time) yesterday was my first day on pill and gel and today i notiched like this blood like little clumps nothing like discharge i want to know if its normal ?
Avatar f tn I took metrogel vaginally for bv at 31 weeks. Everything went fine and it cleared it up.
Avatar n tn No temporary cure the best is the latest Clindesse 2% vaginal cream, single dose x 1 and that's it. Other options metrogel x 5 days, or po flagyl.
Avatar n tn In the beginning of May I experinced some usual vaginal discharge and itchiness and I went to the doctor and I was told I had Bacterial Vaginosis and was given Metrogel 0.
